Chapter 241

Marcus stared at Tyrone as he approached, momentarily stunned. All these years had passed, and the little boy he remembered had grown into a man-one whose presence was so intense, Marcus couldn't even meet his eyes.

"Mr. Lynch, this is Mr. Marcus, your father," Vincent announced with a polite smile. "Mr. Lawson asked me to bring his whole family to you."

Vincent was doing this on purpose, making sure Tyrone knew that he, too, could stir up trouble if he wanted.

Tyrone let out a cold, dismissive laugh. How childish, he thought.

Did they really believe that dragging his estranged father and a conveniently discovered half-brother into the mix would suddenly make Lynch Corporation as strong as the Lawsons?

"Go back and tell Mr. Lawson," Tyrone said, voice icy, "that if he had to bring his bastard son into the family business, it's because he couldn't handle things himself. Just because he's a failure doesn't mean the rest of us are."

Vincent's smile faded. He didn't dare argue, just nodded quickly and hurried off to the car.

Alicia watched Marcus and the others, genuinely surprised. Father? But... hadn't Tyrone's father died years ago?

"So you're Tyrone? You've grown up so much," Marcus said, already trying to usher his wife toward the house.

Tyrone blocked his path, raising a hand. "This is my home. You're trespassing. I could call the police right now."

Marcus's expression darkened. "Tyrone, I'm your father. Everything you have now- you owe it to me!"

Valery jumped in, her tone urgent. "He's your father, Tyrone. How could you not let your own family in?"

She took in the elegant house with a critical eye. "Tyrone, right? I'm sure you've got more than one house. Give this one to your brother. It's closer to his school."

Easton felt a flush of shame and tugged at his mother's sleeve, flustered. "Mom!"

Tyrone ignored Marcus and Valery, his attention shifting to Easton.

So this was the younger brother everyone talked about the one with impressive grades. The old man had wavered because he wanted this grandson back in the family.

"I'm sorry for showing up like this today," Easton tried to explain, "my dad-"

"Years ago," Tyrone cut in, his voice sharp, "when the Lynch family was drowning in debt, he ran away from it all. Signed away his rights to the family fortune, disappeared, left my grandfather and me to cleanup his mess. And now he has the nerve to come back?" Tyrone's eyes bored into Easton.

Easton looked at Tyrone, stunned, then turned to Marcus. "Dad, is that true?"

Alicia and Melanie, standing nearby, were equally shocked.

So Marcus hadn't died all those years ago-he'd simply run away. The Lynch family,

too ashamed to admit it, had told everyone he was dead.

Marcus looked away, guilt written all over his face. "It's true Lynch Corporation was

in trouble back then, but your grandfather—my father-he should have left

everything to me. I'm his only son. I was supposed to inherit this."

Alicia could see right through Marcus; he sounded like a coward.

She stepped forward and squeezed Tyrone's hand tightly.

In that moment, she understood why Tyrone had seemed so weighed down lately- the real reason was right here.

"Dad, if you abandoned Lynch Corporation when things got tough, then we should go back to the coast and live our old life. I can get a scholarship to pay for school, and I'll earn enough to take care of us. We shouldn't interfere in someone else's life-this doesn't belong to us,"

Easton said, pulling at Marcus to leave.

"Are you out of your mind?" Valery

snapped, her voice shrill. "This is Lynch Corporation we're talking

about. Billions at stake! Even if net

only get scraps, that would be
