Tyrone nodded and walked over to the hospital bed. âIf you feel any discomfort, just let me know.â
Serenaâs eyes were rimmed with red as she looked up at him, her voice tinged with accusation. âWhy did you only come now? Do you not care if I live or die anymore?â
Seeing Serena so agitated, Tyrone spoke in a low, steady voice, trying to calm her. âSettle down. Youâre in a hospitalâthere are doctors here. Me being here doesnât really change anything.â
Serena glared at Alicia.
Aliciaâs hand froze mid-bite, a piece of toasted bread halfway to her mouth. Instinctively, she hid it behind her back.
But then she paused, feeling a bit ridiculous. Why should she feel guilty? She was Tyroneâs wife, after allâeven if it was just on paper.
âWas it her? Did she deliberately stall you? Didnât let you come see me?â Serenaâs voice rose, her words frantic. âTyrone, you promised me. You said youâd take care of me.â Her agitation peakedâshe yanked out her IV line, blood staining the crisp white sheets in a sudden, alarming smear.
Alicia realized then just how serious Serenaâs condition was. Bipolar disorder was one of the most dangerous mental illnesses, wasnât it?
A sharp pang of regret hit her. Maybe she shouldnât have played her little tricks to delay Tyrone, knowing it might push Serena over the edge.
She lowered her head in guilt, staying quiet.
âThis has nothing to do with her,â Tyrone said firmly, stepping in front of Alicia to shield her from Serenaâs glare. âIf you canât get your emotions under control, Iâll arrange for you to go back to the clinic tomorrow.â
He frowned. Heâd only agreed to Serenaâs release after both she and the clinic staff had assured him her condition was stable. Clearly, things were still far from fine.
Serena stiffened, her outburst fading instantly.
She couldnât go back to the clinic. If she did, Aliciaâthe sly little vixenâwould have Tyrone all to herself.
âIâll be fine, I promise,â Serena said quickly, forcing herself to sound calmer. âTyrone, Iâm scared... I still get scared. This is a hospitalâcanât you stay with me tonight? What if they come back to hurt me?â She clung desperately to his wrist.
So she was still trying to keep him here.

ï¤Chapter 192 Transmigration: I Have Storage Space in the Apocalypse ï¤Chapter 760 - 756: Encountering a Man with Evil Intentions Alicia felt a sudden panic and glanced at Tyrone without thinking.
If Wilma stayed, and Tyrone stayed, that would leave Alicia alone in that enormous, echoing house tonight.
Truthfully, Alicia hated that big house. It was too empty... and without Tyrone there, it felt even less safe.
âWilma and Melanie will both be here,â Tyrone replied, his tone firm but not unkind. âIf anything happens, Wilma will call me right away.â
Serena wasnât satisfied. âBut I only feel safe when youâre here.â
âIâll have Felix keep watch outside your door. Youâll be fine,â Tyrone said, his voice final.
âWhy canât it be you?â Serenaâs voice broke, confusion and hurt mingling. âYou always used to stay with me at the hospital. Is it because of her?â
âThatâs right. My wife is pregnant, and Iâm not leaving her alone overnight,â Tyrone answered bluntly.
Heâd stayed before out of obligation and concern for her illness, but now his priorities had changed.
Alicia was expecting, and with Jade and Nicole still scheming, he couldnât help but want to keep Alicia close by his side every minute of every day.
Alicia stared at Tyrone, her heart pounding wildly.
This couldnât go on. If it did, she really was going to fall for him.
