Chapter 163

“Mina, don’t push it!” Vincent snapped, his anger barely contained. “Yes, I’ve had people around me these past four years, but I never got married.

And what about you? You ran off to Vesperia and married someone else. Did I ever say anything about it?”

He’d never dared say these things before, worried he’d upset Mina. But today, it all came spilling out.

Mina’s breath came in ragged gasps as she stared at Vincent, furious and incredulous.

“All for that Alicia? That worthless tramp...” Mina trembled with rage.

Her hatred for Alicia burned hotter than ever. For four years, Alicia had stolen Vincent’s heart away from her.

“Mina, this has nothing to do with Alicia. If anything, it’s me who’s wronged her.” Vincent picked up the ring box and started searching frantically for the ring.

“Where’s the ring?” he demanded, his temper flaring.

“I threw it in the trash outside,” Mina replied coldly, a bitter smile twisting her lips.

Vincent scowled, spun on his heel, and strode out.

That ring was a one-of-a-kind engagement ring—he’d commissioned a designer to craft it especially for Alicia, her name engraved on the inside of the band.

“Vincent!” Mina shrieked after him, her voice cracking.

She hadn’t expected Vincent, who’d had a phobia of dirt since childhood, to go digging through garbage like a madman.

In that moment, for the first time, Mina was truly afraid.

She couldn’t stall any longer. She really couldn’t.

Forcing herself to calm down, Mina drew a deep breath.

She had to act fast—she needed to make Vincent marry her, and soon.

She grabbed her phone and dialed Vincent’s mother. “Mrs. Lawson... I heard Mr. Lawson’s letting that illegitimate son into the company now. If Vincent doesn’t marry me soon, I’m afraid he’ll lose the shares his grandfather left for him.”

Vincent’s mother sounded both furious and anxious. “Exactly! Why haven’t you two registered your marriage yet?”

“Mrs. Lawson, something’s come up on Vincent’s end. Do you remember that woman who sent Mira to jail? Alicia?” Mina’s eyes grew cold. She was ready to let someone else do her dirty work.

“That Alicia? The orphan girl! I haven’t even gone after her yet. Mira can’t stay in prison—Vincent promised he’d take care of it, so why is nothing happening?” Vincent’s mother was nearly in tears from frustration.

Mira had been spoiled rotten by the family. Days in jail must have been sheer torture for her.

“She... she’s tangled up with Vincent. She got Mira locked up, and now she won’t leave Vincent alone. She’s stopping him from marrying me...” Mina sniffled, her voice trembling with just the right amount of vulnerability.

On the other end, Mrs. Lawson erupted in rage. “That little tramp thinks she can worm her way into the Lawson family? Over my dead body!”

The call ended abruptly.

Mina wiped away her fake tears and let out a cold, bitter laugh.

Letting Vincent’s mother deal with Alicia was much better than getting her own hands dirty.

Buzz. Mina’s phone vibrated—it was her father.

“Get back here, now! Have you seen what people are saying online? Lawson Holdings is taking a hit because of you! Several major partners just pulled out of negotiations!” her father fumed.

Mina’s face went pale. “Dad... I’ll come home right away.”

“If you don’t marry Vincent soon, don’t bother coming back to the Holloway family!” he barked.

Mina clenched her teeth in anger. This was her father through and through—using her time and again, and once he was done, tossing her aside like trash.

She swallowed her frustration. “I understand, Dad...”

She had to get rid of Alicia. Fast.

She sent a quick message to Jade: “Handle Alicia Tyrone’s marriage as soon as possible.”
