I walked down the road to the boy's dorm absentmindedly and caught sight of Andrius exiting from the Business building a few blocks down. I hastened my pace and called, "Andrius!" He looked over and waited for me to catch up to him.
"Hey Pete,"
"Hey Andrius, your class dismissed late today,"
"It's mainly because I stayed behind and asked the professor a few questions,"
"Ah, care to share?"
"I didn't think you were interested in such stuff,"
"How can you tell," I smirked
"I don't know, maybe because you're an engineering major?" he said
I gasped, "Is Mr. Stoneface being sarcastic?"
Andrius playfully punched me on the shoulder and trying to hide his smile, "I am not,"
"Yeah right," I said, and an awkward pause followed my remark
"So, how much did Cassio give you?" Andrius said suddenly
"You're full of surprises today! Voluntarily starting a conversation on our daily walks from class to class,"
"Answer the question Peter,"
I looked at the leaf covered cement sidewalk and said, "$50,"
"Are you going to do it?"
"You knew that Cassio was going to talk to me," I said and looked at Andrius, but he didn't meet my eyes.
"I guessed because of-"
"Because of my debt to him, I know."
"So, what will you do?" Andrius stopped walking and looked at me.
A wave of hesitance washed over me, and I looked uneasily from side to side. Over 3,000 students at this school and not one could happen to walk into our conversation.
"I-I'm not sure," I said slowly
"Well, that won't do will it," Andrius said and stepped closer to me, "You have until the end of the day,"
I gulped, feeling cold sweat go down my neck as I watched him walk away. After hesitating for a moment, wondering if I should follow him back to the boy's dorm, but after a bit of thought, I decided against it. I didn't want to be stuck in the same room as him until I have an answer. I turned around and headed down to the dining hall for an early dinner.
