You sat in the bathroom, your knees tucked up close to your chest, leaning your chin on your knee. You were staring at the toilet, with the fluffy light blue toilet seat cover.
You thought about how it matched your walls being almost the exact same color by accident. And the small carpet underneath your feet was grey, and you couldn't help but remember Tyler, your boyfriend, bringing that in when he moved in.
He had a connection with a lot of weird things, and the small bathroom rug was one of them. You smile softly at the memory. It quickly vanished with the realization of why you were sitting on the bathroom floor in the first place.
Tyler lied to you. You don't know why, but he did.
You remember stopping by Tyler's mother's house for a while to catch up. You were always close with his family, so it wasn't awkward at all.
You then decided to call Tyler and let him know where you were.
It was three rings until he picked up almost with a panic. "Why are you calling me?"
"Wh-what do you mean why am I calling you? I'm just letting you know I won't be home for a while."
"Neither will I." Tyler stated almost quickly. It seemed like any minute he was going to hang up so you decided to talk fast.
"Ty, what's going on? Where are you?" You began to worry. Tyler sighed on the other end, and you could hear ruffling of some sort. He didn't speak for what felt like minutes.
"Nothing is wrong, love. I'm just helping my mom with something." He replied more calmly, but you could hear the slight hesitation in his voice.
You took a deep breath, looking over in the kitchen to see Mrs. Joseph pulling out freshly baked cookies from the oven. "Oh, okay." You nodded even though he wasn't here. You gulped down that lump in your throat, and pushed back the sudden anxious feeling you got.
Tyler never lied to you. Or at least you didn't think he did.
You leaned your head back against the pale blue wall. You tilted your head to stare at the door to your right, it was slightly cracked but not much light shown threw. It was becoming dusk, and Tyler still wasn't home.
You felt like calling and questioning him; asking him if he was okay and where he really was. But you didn't want to seem clingy or all over him. You didn't want him to feel like he had to tell you his every move.
You took a deep breath as you pushed yourself up into a standing position, grabbing ahold of the door and swinging it further open. You stepped out into the dark hallway, and made your way into your bedroom.
Maybe Debby will know what to do. She always knew how to comfort you and when you and Tyler had problems. But this wasn't necessarily a problem was it? It was one lie, maybe he just was afraid you'd yell at him for going out with Josh or something. Which you hoped wasn't the case because you would never yell at him for something so silly.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Deb." Your voice was slightly hoarse from not using it for so long in the bathroom. You were in there for at least 2 hours.
"Hey, girlie. What's up?" Debby cheered.
"I'm kind of confused with Tyler right now, could I maybe vent to you?" Debby went silent on the other end for a moment before letting out a small 'awe" sound.
"Of course. Whatever it is it probably can be fixed. And it's probably not as bad as you think it is."
"Okay," you began, taking a deep breath. "Well, I stopped by Tyler's mom's house to visit, and decided I'd call Tyler and let him know I won't be home for a while, because I thought he was home. But then he sounded very urgent on the phone and was saying "neither will I." And then I asked him where he was, and he replied "at my moms to help with something." Or something like that. But I was at his mom's and he wasn't at his mom's." You took a deep breath, now tired of that long story you've gone through multiple times in your head.
Debby hummed in thought on the other end. "So he lied to you about where he was?"
"Y-yes. I think so." A frown found its way on your face.
"Oh dear. This happened with me and my last boyfriend." Debby's voice lowered, letting you know she was full on serious now. Your heat sank at her words 'last boyfriend' that meant the broke up. Was it because of this?
"Wh-what happened?"
Debby let out a long sigh, almost like she was stalling the answer. "He cheated on me with another woman."
Your heart sank at that, but you still found the power to let out a weak chuckle. "Tyler would never. You should know that!"
"I'm not saying that he would! I'm just saying you should be cautious." Debby defended. You went silent so she continued. "Look, I don't think he is cheating on you. I just think you should take it into consideration so it's not a total surprise and heartbreak if he is. I wish my friends would've warned me, so here I am warning you."
What if she was right? What if he was cheating on you? You couldn't think that, you trusted him with your whole heart. "You don't know him like I do, Debby." Your voice was fueled with anger, not only angry at Debby for bringing that assumption to your attention but angry at yourself for even believing it. "He loves me, and none of your bullshit advise will change my mind on that."
"Wait, Y/N-" you didn't let her finish while you pressed the end call and slammed your phone on your bed.
So much for making me feel better.
You stared at your tv in front of your bed, your arms crossed in thought. You were mad. No, more like livid. You were livid.
You looked over at your phone to see Debby's text:
Debs: I'm sorry, Y/N. I don't want to make you feel bad, but I also don't want to blind side you from what could possibly be the truth. Call me when you can.
Your eyes glanced up to the time. 9:34 PM
You stared at the time for a long while. So long it turned 9:35
That's when you burst into tears. All of the anger turning quickly to sadness and filling your body with nothing but despair. Tyler still wasn't home.
After you calmed down a bit, you decided to not just come out and accuse him. You didn't want to accuse him until you were certain. You didn't want to come across as a clingy girlfriend. It was just one lie of where he was. It didn't mean anything, but now that you had put it into consideration you were going to watch out for signs of some sort.
You were so deep in your throughs you didn't even hear the front door creek open, and Tyler stand in the door way with his jacket clumped up in one hand and the other in his pocket.
"Hey, what happened? Are you okay?" He dropped his jacket onto the chair next to the wall and quickly made his way to you to look at you in the eyes. Your eyes were still puffy.
"I'm fine. I'm just tired. I've had a long day. I'm on my period." You named multiple excuses to which he seemed skeptical at first but nodded his head anyways.
You watched as he began to get undressed to get his PJs on. "Sorry, I haven't been home," he lifted his shirt over his head.
"How was your mom's?" You asked, your eyes following Tyler as he made it to his side of the bed.
"What?-" he began confused. "Oh! Yeah, she's good. She needed help with some stuff." He removed his pants and slipped into the bed. You sighed at his hesitation feeling a dull anxious feeling in your gut.
"No shower tonight?" You asked, deciding to ignore your anxiety. He shrugged.
"If I take a shower then you might fall asleep and we won't get to cuddle." He smirked, and stretched his arms out towards you, a small pout on his face.
You looked around the room for a moment, before sighing and cuddling up into his chest. He let out a soft satisfied hum, and pulled you closer to him.
"I love you." He whispered, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead.
You smiled, closing your eyes and breathing in his scent of pine trees and some other scent you didn't really recognize at the time. "I love you too."
How could you ever assume he's cheating? It made you mad at yourself, once again, that you could even take it into consideration. He'd never.

You picked at your fresh homemade waffles while you watched Tyler gulp them down like there was nothing left to eat. You would smile at his antics, but the phone he had grasped in his hand sort of forced you to frown. You usually had good breakfasts with him. Every bite he took he'd say how good it is. But not this morning.
All Tyler could do was look at his stupid phone, and sometimes glance over at you to give you a small smile. His phone kept going off with texts, that he seemed urgent to answer.
Once he was done with his plate of waffles he stood up and headed for his shoes by the door.
"Where're you going?" You asked, and he shrugged.
"Josh's car broke down like an hour away. I'm going to go pick him up and stuff." Tyler finished tying his shoelaces, and stood up making his way over to you.
He leaned over requesting for a kiss. You kissed him back, and watched him as he quickly twisted around and headed for the front door.
He stopped and turned to look at you. "I'll be a while." Tyler assured, opening the door and disappearing behind it.
Of course you will, you thought.
You looked fixedly at the door, as if he'd just open it saying it was all a joke and that he just wanted to scare you. You already had the whole conversation you would've had with him in your mind when your phone started to ring and vibrate.
Debby.
"Hey." You answered.
"Hey, so how did it turn out?"
"Well, I thought it was crap, but now I don't even know. He just left saying he needed to pick up Josh," you explained. "Is josh with you?"
Debby sighed. "No, but I'm pretty sure Josh would've asked me to pick him up. I live closer to his house."
"No. Tyler said Josh's car broke down an hour away. Maybe we're closer."
"Sounds like an excuse to me, Y/N/N." Debby deadpanned honestly. You were about to argue but you couldn't.
You couldn't defend your own boyfriend. The one that you were supposed to trust with your life.
You took a shaky breath in. "What am I supposed to do, Debby?" You choked out, now pacing in your dining room. You were trying not to cry. This wasn't something to cry over when it could literally just be a coincidence and he actually is getting Josh.
But the fact he lied to you yesterday was getting to you, and it was making it nearly impossible to side with him.
"Hey, calm down." Debby comforted. "I'm coming over and we can go somewhere and get our minds off of him, okay?"
You could hear Debby ruffle around in some things, making you believe she must've been getting ready to come over. "Okay..." you trailed off, hanging up the phone and staring at the ground.
What if she is right? What are you supposed to do then?

You looked out of the window, as Debby drove you. You were clueless of where you were going, and frankly you didn't care. You were just glad that you were out of the house.
If you think about it, your whole world revolves around Tyler. He basically is your world. What happens if Debby is right? Your whole world would be ruined. You weren't sure exactly what you'd do if it was true.
And if it was true, the questions recurring in your mind was:
Tyler? Really? Out of everyone, Tyler? He's not like that. He's the kind of person that would never do anything to harm someone he loved. Did that mean he didn't love you? Did he decide you were just to much for him to handle? Then why doesn't he just end it? Is he scared?
You decided to partially speak your mind. Maybe Debby had answers.
You lifted your hand and played with your bottom lip in thought. "Do you think he doesn't love me?" You asked quietly, staring out the window to distract yourself from the serious conversations you just started.
Debby sighed. "Well, y/n/n. I might not know him that well but I do know that he wouldn't keep things going if he didn't love you." You glanced over just in time to see Debby shrug. "So, even if he did do something: he still loves you. At least a little bit."
"But if he loved me don't you think he wouldn't have done it?"
Debby sighed sharply. "I'm still wondering the same thing."
You looked at her intently for a moment before sighing and looking out the window again.

You both ended up going to Debby's to play board games. Debby was in the middle of moving her things into boxes to take them to Josh's; they were moving in together in a few days.
Debby knew exactly how to distract you from the Tyler drama, and you were grateful.
"Right hand on blue." You breathed out. You were both basically in downward dog, some of your limbs tangled into one another's. You were the spinner so you had to balance yourself while spinning. Which you found so unfair.
"I feel so wrong." Debby laughed. She was basically hugging your butt.
You then felt a vibration in your back pocket to which Debby giggled. "Someone is calling you." She commented, plucking your phone out of your butt pocket. "Oh..." she trailed off. "It's Tyler."
You quickly hopped up, stretching your limbs and grabbing the phone. "Thanks." You walked outside to talk to him alone.
Right as you answered you felt Debby's ear to the phone. You rolled your eyes and smiled. "Hey, Love. Where are you? I'm home."
You were about to answer but Debby smacked your arm. You looked over with a 'What the hell?' face. She shook her head and lipped: 'Don't tell!'
You soon caught on and nodded. "I'm just out." You snapped. A lot more sass in your voice than you intended, but Debby smiled and nodded.
It was silent for a moment before he replied. "Okay..." there was a slight nervous chuckle at the end of his sentence, which made you feel bad.
"I'll be home in a minute, okay?" Debby frowned at you, and you shook your head.
"Alright. Love you." He said, and hung up.
"He didn't say bye?" Debby questioned.
You chuckled lightly. "He never says bye. It's like his thing."

You entered your room to see Tyler on his laptop and earphones in his ears. You smiled at the sight of him. You might've been having complications but he still made you smile. You feared that will never change even if Debby was right.
You walked up and sat on the bed, to which his eyes darted up and the he forced the laptop closed quickly.
You furrowed your eyebrows at him, now becoming somewhat mad. This is only another reason to believe he is cheating. And every time you try to take his side he ends up ruining it.
"Hey, love. Where were you?" He asked as if everything is normal. Nothing is normal.
You plopped back on the bed with your feet dangling off the side and let out a huff of breath. "I told you I was out! Why do you care so much?" You snapped, staring at the ceiling.
Tyler let out a nervous laugh, before hesitantly sitting up from his position. "Wait, are you- are you mad at me?" He asked cautiously.
You let a big sigh. "No, I'm not mad at you." Yet your tone of voice said otherwise. You quickly sat yourself up, gathering up some Pjs.
"Really? Because your posture and tone says otherwise-" Tyler began to argue but you beat him to it.
"Just drop it, okay," you demanded.
"Okay." He was quick to obey, knowing if he pushed it you might actually get mad at him.
"Just drop it." You repeated quieter this time. You inhaled slowly, as you bunched your your pajama pants and shirt together in one hand and a towel in the other. "I'm taking a shower." Tyler watched you carefully and confusingly as you made your way into the bathroom. What'd he do wrong?
You cheated on me. You told yourself as if it was Tyler you're talking to.
"No, it's all a misunderstanding, I love you." You replied for Tyler.
No, I have evidence!
"What evidence? That I lied to you one time?" You turned off the shower and stepped out onto the grey rug.
You also closed your laptop. You roughly dried off with the towel. This conversation you were having with yourself only fueled your anger. You didn't know what to do.
"I could've been looking at work stuff and didn't want to bother you with it."
Or you could've been looking at other women! Or texting other women! You slipped on your pajama pants and T-Shirt.
"Y/n, come on, it's Tyler! It's me. I would never do that to you." You wrung out your hair, making sure it didn't get your pillow to wet.
Well you did! You looked into the mirror, finding your eyes red from tears. No tears fell from your eyes, but they were there, waiting for you to break down. You weren't going to. This was silly to cry over.
You let out a sigh, and reluctantly made your way into the bedroom. You didn't want to face Tyler right now.
And as you expected Tyler was sat up blankets all around him, and he was staring at you as you walked in. He looked sort of worried, but you wouldn't look at him long enough to really tell.
You slid into your side, furthest you could from him, and turned your back. You didn't want to touch him right now. Just knowing that he could be touching someone with the same kind of love as you, maybe even more, made you want to stay as far away from him as you could. You'd sleep on the couch but you didn't want to put him through so much, because it all could be a big misunderstanding.
You felt Tyler's eyes on you for a minute or two, before you heard him sigh and reach for his lamp. He turned to his side and gave you the space you wanted.
Not even a brush of the foot was shared that night.

You had a bad day today. Not only were you in a bad mood for obvious reasons, but Tyler wouldn't stay still. He kept pacing around, and checking the time. When you asked him what was up he'd just shake his head saying everything was perfectly fine.
Another big lie that you knew he was telling you. You decided not to push it though to save you from bickering.
A huge chunk of the day consisted of you on the couch staring at a TV Show you weren't even invested in. Tyler was out most of the day, and all you could bother to think about was what the hell he must've been doing. From the behavior he had this morning he seemed nervous. Like really nervous. You've never seen him so tense.
After about 2 hours of him being gone it was 4:30 PM when he got home.
You were sprawled out on the couch, to which he greeted you with an awkward kiss on the lips. It had been sort of awkward between you two after what happened the night before.
You watched as Tyler walked over to the table and set his keys and jacket down. He froze, glaring at the table for a second before twisting himself around to face you.
"Are you okay?" He asked, real concern and confusion in his tone and eyes. That was the only thing that didn't make sense to you. He was acting like he was this cheating guy but then when you really talked to him he seemed so loving and caring that it made you almost forget what Debby said in the first place.
You leaned your elbow on the back of the couch to support you head with your hand, your feet tucked underneath you. "Yeah." You put on a small soft smile.
He nodded, looking down at his feet. "That's good." Tyler mumbled. He hesitantly made his way to sit on the couch next to you, putting a loving hand on your knee; something that he hadn't done at all last night. Of course, it was to give you space; to respect you.
"Are we okay?" He looked dead in your eyes. He really did love you, and didn't want to lose you.
You took a deep breath, looking from one pupil to the other searching for any sign that he could be laughing at you in any way for believing his crap. All you found was worry and fear. He was scared of losing you from last night. Which you didn't blame him, you were scared too. You have never once gone without cuddling up next to each other. And if you two had a fight: night time was that one moment that you both gave in and apologized; all for the snuggles of course.
You nodded your head, putting on a sad smile. "I've just- I've been-" you took a deep breath, shaking your head and looking down. Tyler listened intently for what you were about to say. "I've had a really bad week." You murmured.
You hung up head down and messed with your nails. Tyler lifted your chin with his hand gently, a soft smile on his lips.
"You can talk to me, you know that?" His eyebrows lifted in question, and you nodded.
"You can talk to me too, you know." You replied. And you weren't just saying that. You wanted him to tell you himself what was going on. You felt like it was better that way than just assuming.
He merely nodded, leaning in and kissing your cheek. A huge smile found it's way to his lips as he stared at your beautiful face. "I love you."
A slight blush found its way on your face. And you leaned in and pecked his lips as response.
How could he cheat on you? He loved you. Right?
"I have to take a shower, love. And then I have somewhere I want to take you." He explained, his nose mere inches from yours. He nuzzled his nose to yours before stealing another kiss.
"Okay, I'll wait out here." You replied quietly.
"Nah, go put something nice on." He patted your thigh, shooting himself up into a standing position.
You gasped and put your hand to your heart. "Is this not good enough for you?" You teased.
"Nope." He popped the 'p' as he walked into the bathroom. His loud laugh could be heard as he shut the door.
You giggled softly, entering your shared room. The first thing you noticed was Tyler's phone buzzing.
Without really thinking you glanced at the name.
J- you glanced over at your clothes before finishing reading.
Probably Josh. You thought, before you glanced back at the phone, really reading the name this time.
Jenna
Your heart dropped so low that you almost dropped with it. You felt it hit the ground and weigh you down like a ton of bricks. It damaged your gut along the way, making your stomach feel anxious.
Curiosity took over you and his phone was in your hands.
Jenna: are you coming yet?
Jenna: I probably shouldn't be texting or she might know. Lol sorry ð
Jenna: just wanted to let you know I'm ready when you get here.
She's ready when he gets there...
Your eyes began to ache from holding so many tears, and your throat burned to hold back a sob.
Soon it became to much for you to handle so you brought your knees close to your chest and let out a small sob. You tried to stop yourself.
This still doesn't mean anything. You told yourself, there's a rational explanation for that.
"He cheated." You whispered to yourself, "he's cheating." Another sob escaped your lips and you felt arms wrapped around your body.
You immediately pushed them off, getting off the bed and as far away from him as you could.
"Y/n, whats wrong? What happened?"
"You're a liar!" You choked out, pointing your finger at him accusingly.
His eyebrows furrowed and Tyler pressed his hand to his still wet chest. "Me?"
"Yes, you! You asshole! I trusted you and you go out and- and-" You shouted. You couldn't think of the word. "I trusted you." You repeated quieter now feeling defeated.
Tyler looked from you then around the room as if he was searching for something. "I don't know what you're talking about." He mumbled quietly, obviously oblivious.
"Really!? Why don't you read it for yourself." You threw his phone at him. It wasn't hard, and he managed to catch it.
He carefully looked at his phone, occasionally glancing up to meet your eyes.
Once he read the texts he closed his eyes and breathed out a deep breath. "Nothing happened, y/n." When he opened his eyes he looked hurt, like you just punched him in the gut. "Listen, I've been planning something for us, and she just so happened to be very good at it." His voice was low, and serious.
You let out another sob. "At what? What is she so good at?"
"Wedding planning. She's good at wedding planning." He let out a small breath, and your eyes go wide. "I thought if she was good at that then she might be good at proposals too."
That in itself made you want to burst into tears. Not only did you read it wrong, but you made a total fool of yourself in front of the one person who wants to spend his life with you. "So you- you were-"
"Planning a surprise proposal? Yes." Tyler nodded and looked down.
It went silent for a long while as you wrapped your head around it.
"Listen, I know you probably don't trust me. You can ask her yourself. And I know I screwed things up, and I'm so sorry." He apologized. "I didn't mean to make you think that, and I would never do that to you and it hurts to know you thought that of me." He took a deep breath. "I never meant to hurt you."
You immediately felt bad. You should've known and trusted him. You should've told him how you felt and allowed him to explain it to you. But you kept it to yourself.
"I should be sorry... for not telling you how I felt." You looked down and played with your fingers.
"I want you to know that you mean everything to me, and I'd never try and change that for the world." His eyes were full of tears now, and you were sort of confused as to why. "I understand if you don't want to marry me." He let out a dry laugh that you could tell was to hide up how he truly felt.
"Why wouldn't I want to marry you?"
Tyler looked up. "Well, because you thought I cheated on you." He furrowed his eyebrows. "I think..." he seemed unsure.
A small smile took your face at the realization. "But you didn't." It felt so good to say. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and kissed him.
Yes, he was still in a towel.
"Wait so you want to marry me?" Tyler asked.
"No," you smiled, but soon found that Tyler's face turned pale with worry. So you rephrased. "No, I mean that: I want you to really propose like you've been planning all the time." You giggled, and he let out a breath.
"Phew, okay." He let out a breath of relief. "Good because I didn't go through all this for nothing." He grabbed your waist and began to pull you closer but you stepped away.
"No! Get dressed! You're wet, and I don't want to get this outfit soaked." You explained, and he only chuckled.
"Okay, but later, girl." He looked at you with a teasing stern look and his pointer finger aimed right at you.
You let out an awkward but cute laugh, as you began to walk out so he could get changed. "You bet."
Gosh, you are so glad he didn't cheat. And you felt terrible for believing he did. But everything was okay now.
At least you hoped.

Hope you enjoyed this! It's sooooooo long...
I had a dream about it.
