"Oh my gosh, dear, what happened?" Kelly asked, followed by a hum of relative questions from the family.

"She found an animal trap." Tyler amused, followed quickly by a loud chuckle from Chris, Tyler's father.

Kelly glared at her husband, and everyone just laughed making y/n duck her head down low. Tyler rubbed her back softly to reassure her.

"Why don't you go get a shower?" Tyler whispered to her. She nodded, silently making her way up the stairs and into their guest room. As she began to ascend the stairs Tyler's voice stopped her.

"Come on, guys, don't laugh at her, she was raised in the city and she was scared out of her mind." Y/n instantly smiled as she carried herself up the steps.

"She doesn't eat much, mom, it's nothing to worry about. Also she doesn't care for toast, so that's probably why she didn't eat any." Y/n heard Tyler's voice as she ventured into the dining room after a steamy shower. "She was being polite." He added, before turning his head to look at y/n. He gave her a sweet smile.

She was kinda surprised that he knew she didn't like toast. She always found it way to burnt even if it wasn't. She sat down beside Tyler, and Kelly changed the subject.

"So how are you liking this place so far, Y/n?"

Y/n shrugged absentmindedly as she stared out of the glass door. Tyler elbowed her in the arm making her jump out of her mind.

"Oh! Yes, I love it here." Y/n smiled at Kelly then Tyler. "You have a very kind family."

Kelly twisted around to look into the kitchen and then back at y/n. "I'm glad you're enjoying it here. Tomorrow is a big day, because we are having a Christmas Eve party." She began to walk backwards towards the kitchen. "You'll be able to meet possible future family!" She clapped before exiting into the kitchen, y/n guessed she was cooking dinner.

Tyler let out a long sigh, and y/n returned it with a sad smile. "I'm not ready." She spoke her mind quietly.

"Neither am I." He sighed, picking himself up from his chair and making his way to the staircase. "I'm taking a shower." He then disappeared out of y/n's view, leaving her alone in the dining room.

"Favorite song?" Y/n asked, looking up at the ceiling that night.

"Cancer from MCR. Yours is Chasing Cars from Snow Patrol." Tyler answered bluntly, not even having to think.

"You're not supposed to answer my favorite!" Y/n giggled.

"I'm right aren't I?" He questioned, and y/n hummed in agreement. He smiled softly. "Okay, favorite animal?"

"Dolphin." They both answered simultaneously, making y/n crack up laughing.

"Stop!" She gripped her sheets over her face, a blush finding its way on her cheeks. He knew everything.

Tyler chuckled. "Alright, alright."

It went silent, and y/n tried to think of something she could know about Tyler. She didn't know him as well as she thought she did, it kind of hurt her heart. She then began to think of things about herself that she was sure he didn't know.

She took a deep breath. "I don't like dresses." She broke the silence, and Tyler furrowed his eyebrows. All she wore was dresses, and if not dresses, skirts. He was about to question her but she beat him to it. "My dad forces me to wear them. He says I'm worth nothing in a pair pants."

It went silent again, and Tyler didn't dare speak. Y/n thought for a moment again, before letting out a sigh. She could now think of countless things she could tell him. Might as well start naming them. "I've slept with a man, but I've never been on a date." She paused again, her lips burning with every word. She didn't know why she was telling him this, but no one ever knew this about her, so what does it matter? "I used to dream of being a photographer like you." She smiled softly at the memory. "I'd carry around this humongous cardboard camera around my neck and take fake pictures." She let out a small giggle, but her smile soon faded. "That is, until my dad threw it on the ground and crushed it with his foot."

She took a deep breath. "When I was six my best friend made me promise: when I was allowed to date I'd be his girlfriend. I promised him, but..." she paused, taking another deep breath. "he died before I could fulfill that promise." She said emotionless. That was a long time ago, and she had cried to many times because of it. "Car accident." She replied to a question never asked, knowing dearly Tyler probably wondered how.

She looked around the room, finally running out of things to say. She didn't want to end it on something so depressing, so she thought hard on another fact he wouldn't know. "Uh... the reason I'm so hard on you is because my dad tells me to listen to you. It's basically my way of saying 'fuck you dad.' It's mean but it makes me feel better, more in control with myself." She shrugged even though he couldn't see her. "I'm sorry for being tough on you." She forced a small chuckle, now feeling the pit of her stomach flutter with sadness. She didn't have that great of a life like it was portrayed. She wished better for herself, even though she knew greatly that she didn't really deserve it.

Tyler was silent, and y/n began to worry that everything she said maybe scared him. That, or he was already asleep and she said all of that for nothing.

"You still there?" She laughed weakly.

"Yeah, I'm here." He mumbled. "Just thinking."

She let out a deep breath, looking around the room, anticipating what he will say about her 'confession.'

"I'm very sorry about your friend." He said sadly, and y/n could almost feel his pain from where she was. It was as if he was the one who experienced it. He was very empathetic, and it made her smile softly.

It went silent again, making y/n think of another buttload of things. She always thought about deep stuff at night, it always kept her up. Her mind wouldn't shut off.

"Ty?"

"Yeah?"

"To answer your question from last night, yes. I did enjoy it." She answered. She was pretty confident as she said it, but a heap of emotions hit her like a ton of bricks once she did. She anxiously fiddled with the sheet wrapping her frail frame, waiting for what felt like minutes for his answer.

"I did too." She wasn't sure but it sounded as though he was smiling, and she let out a small nervous/excited giggle.

Chris marched his way to the shed, opening it and closing it behind him. Since y/n got caught into his animal trap he had to reset it and delete all the footage off of his camera he placed out there.

He didn't plan on watching it and invading their private conversation, but once he clicked on the footage the first thing he heard was:

"I can't do this to your mother, Tyler!" He knew it was y/n's voice and he soon was intrigued. What exactly couldn't she do to his wife? "I can't do this to your family! I'm leaving now before it gets any worse."

Chris furrowed his eyebrows, thinking long and hard about what that could have meant. He then played the video through, hoping to find some sort of answer to his question.

♫تتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتت♫

Tyler scratched his head lazily as he plopped himself down in a dining chair. "Morning, parents."

Kelly chuckled and greeted him. "Where is y/n?" She asked, placing a plate of pancakes down on the middle of the table.

"She's still fast asleep, looking fine as ever." He smiled sweetly. He's going to be honest, after what happened last night, he meant every word coming from his mouth. No more tricks. He decided he was going to tell her how he feels before the end of this trip.

"Well, she can't sleep for to much longer, her breakfast will get cold, and we have to leave soon to your aunts house." She explained, and Tyler only nodded.

"I'll get her in a few minutes once I go up to shower." He nodded, pouring chocolate syrup over his fluffy steamy pancakes.

Chris glanced up at him, giving him some sort of glare. Tyler just smiled. He was very happy today, he had a feeling it was because of last night. He had never spent so much time with her to just talk and let out feelings — well, her feelings. But he didn't mind.

"G'morning, dad." He said, in between bites, to maybe break the silence. Chris only nodded, silently eating his food.

Whats wrong with him? Tyler thought.

"I want to talk to you after breakfast." He stated. "You, and your little girlfriend you have looking 'fine as ever'" he mocked what Tyler said earlier, scoffing a little.

Tyler could practically hear his heart drop into his stomach. He put on a soft innocent smile. He couldn't have found out, right? "Chris, stop it. Her name is y/n." Kelly butted in.

"Right." Chris deadpanned, picking up his plate and leaving the room in one quick motion.

Tyler tapped his foot, looking at his mother and humming contently before taking a sip of his water.

♫تتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتت♫

"What did you need dad?" Tyler asked, trying to hide that he was a nervous wreck.

"Follow me." He instructed, as he set off towards the back door.

"What's going on, Ty?" Y/n questioned quietly, and even though Tyler was being eaten up by the bugs called nerves, he still managed to smile and feel warm inside from her nickname.

"I'm not sure..." he trailed off, realizing they were headed to the shed.

His heart rate sped up even faster, if that was possible. He knew what was coming, and he didn't know how to handle it.

Chris swung the door open, revealing his desk, with a computer and a few other mechanics and electronics. They had a pretty large set of woods, so he had a few cameras at different trap sights.

Chris began to tap on his keyboard until a video popped up on his screen, he moved his mouse to hover over the play button but paused. He turned around. "How about instead of me showing you this, you explain it yourself." Chris crossed his arm to show his determination.

Tyler gulped, and y/n froze. "Dad... I don't know what you're talking about." His voice was laced with fear, it was hella noticeable and y/n cringed.

"Really? Do you really want to tell me this? What the hell is this?" He then pressed the space bar starting the video.

Tyler remembered every moment. He forgot there were cameras out there.

"Uh..." Tyler took a deep breath, rubbing his neck. "Well..."

"I was afraid." Y/n blurred out. Tyler's eyes went wide and he looked over at her. Her eyes were watering, and her fists were closed tightly making her knuckles white. She started walking towards Chris, and crossed her arms just like him. "I didn't want to mess up your family. I didn't want to break Tyler's heart, because I knew that if I did I'd break others too. So, I was afraid." She let out a breath. "I love your family a lot, and the thought of ruining what you have scares me. So I... I tried to leave Tyler" y/n turned and looked into Tyler's eyes, her face a full on act. What she was saying was somewhat true. "But... he knew it wasn't the right decision, so he made me promise to stay with him, and so that's what I did." She turned back to Chris. "And now thinking about it, I'm glad I did because I love him."

Tyler let out a breath, his eyes full of astonishment and admiration. He knew she was just telling a story for his father, but she still had said it.

Chris looked up at Tyler looking for maybe a part of his story. He was fixed on

y/n, until she raised her eyebrows at him.

"Y-yeah. I couldn't just let her go, because I knew she didn't mean it." He shrugged it off, but a big grin took his face. "I love you too." A small blush appeared on his face and he looked down. This was not the time or place, but he couldn't help it. She was making him crazy.

Chris dropped his arms down to his sides, and bit the inside of his lip nodding his head. "I guess that makes sense."

"Yeah..." Tyler and y/n said in unison, and Chris looked up a shade of red on his face.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come across so mad. I didn't even understand the footage. And just know I didn't mean to watch it." He scratched his head.

"It's alright, dad. We understand." Tyler couldn't keep the smile off his face.

♫تتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتت♫

"Tyty! play piano!" Mia jumped up to grab Tyler's jacket immediately as he entered Maddy's house.

They were picking her up to go to their aunts house.

"Awww, Mia." Tyler said in his baby-big-girl voice, if you know what I mean. He reached down and picked her up, making his way over to the piano.

"Tyler, no we have to go." Maddy said sternly. "Mia you can wait until we get to Grandma's house."

Y/n stood there awkwardly, not knowing exactly what she was supposed to do. She had never been to Maddy's house, and she had never met her kid Mia.

"Hey, girl, just give me a moment to find Mia's shoes. You guys can go wait in the car if you want. Keep the car warm." She instructed.

Tyler peeled Mia's grasping little hands off of him and placed her down on the ground. "Hey, babygirl, stay with your mom while I go heat up the car. Okay?"

Mia plumped out her bottom lip. "But I wanna go with you..."

"Aww, sweetie, you can't. I have a surprise for you, and you can't see it yet, okay? So stay with your mom and once you get in the car I'll give you the surprise!" He fake enthused, and Mia clapped her hands, running over to her mom, who was searching under the couch for her 3 year old daughter's shoes.

Tyler got up and looked at y/n, rolling his eyes. "Maddy is so bossy." He whispered.

Tyler entered Maddy's kitchen and grabbed a plastic cup, and y/n watched as he walked outside and picked up some snow and stuffed it in the cup.

"What is that?" Y/n asked.

Tyler lifted his eyebrows enthusiastically. "You'll see!"

Y/n rolled her eyes and seated herself in the passenger seat. Maddy wanted to be in the back with her daughter.

Once Mia and Maddy finally came out, Tyler twisted himself around in the drivers seat.

"You ready for your surprise!?" Tyler made a fake surprise face, and Mia let out a loud laugh. He grabbed the snow in the cup and handed it to her. "It's a snow cone!"

Maddy's eyes went wide. "Tyler thats dirty!" Maddy took it from Mia's hands and dumped the snow out of the car.

Tyler twisted back around and chuckled. Maddy gave the cup back to Mia for her to play with since it was her 'surprise.'

Y/n giggled quietly.

♫تتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتتت♫

"Guys! Come in! Oh my gosh!" Tyler's aunt greeted, hugging Maddy and Tyler. Mia hid behind Maddy's leg. She was shy, and she hadn't seen her grandma in a while due to distance. Once his aunt's eyes landed on y/n her eyes sparkled with excitement. "You're Tyler's girlfriend aren't you!?"

She went in for a hug. "Yes I am!" Y/n chuckled softly.

"It's about time you snagged one, Tyler." His aunt pinched his arm lightly, before moving her attention to Maddy, and Mia.

Tyler let out a deep sigh. Y/n shuffled closer to him. The house wasn't very big, but their family was huge. It was tough to keep calm in a living room full of bodies. "What do we do?" Y/n inquired quietly, and Tyler looked down at her.

He smiled softly before taking y/n's hand and guiding her through the house. "I have an idea."

They slid the sliding glass door revealing the cold air that nipped their ears. No one was outside, due to the weather, which is exactly how Tyler liked it.

"If it's too cold we'll go inside." He advised, and y/n nodded.

They kept their hands clasped together as they began to walk around his aunt's backyard.

"So, tell me something about you." Y/n began, looking up at Tyler.

"Hmm..." he took a deep breath. "Well..." he paused for a while. "I moved to Los Angeles when I was 20."

Y/n smiled. "Okay, well I went into a lot more detail than that, c'mon." She giggled.

"Oh, um, I used to have a band..." Tyler shrugged.

"Oh cool! What happened?"

"Well, it was me and 2 other guys, and their lives got in the way so they decided the best choice was to leave." He sighed. "I still want to pursue music though. That was why I moved to Los Angeles."

"But you're my personal photographer?" She seemed confused, and Tyler shrugged.

"Well, I picked up a photography job because I needed money to keep it up, then, I don't know, I was offered to do this with you and decided it was probably best if I did that. Y'know it wasn't such a risk like music."

"Oh, well, I'm sorry." Y/n looked down and kicked at the snow.

Tyler let a smile creep on his face as a idea popped in his mind. He dropped y/n's hand, and gave her a playful smirk.

"What?" She questioned nervously. He slowly squatted down and grabbed a snowball patting it together nicely.

Y/n's eyes went wide and she backed away slowly. "Ty..."

"Yes, my wonderful girlfriend?" He teased.

"Don't you dare." She said quietly.

"What was that, princess?" His small smirk became a grin as he began to walk closer to her.

"Tyler, I'm serious..."

"Yes, and I'm serious when I say: you should run." Tyler chuckled as he took off after her throwing his snowball.

Y/n squealed and darted away, as Tyler tried to run after her. "Tyler!" She practically screamed from terror, as Tyler tackled her down in the snow.

The snow was soft enough to soften their blow. They were both laughing hysterically. They didn't even realize that Tyler was basically laying on top of y/n, his face mere inches from hers.

They both finished chuckling, as they stared into each other's eyes. Tyler looked down at her lips and back to her eyes, licking his lips from the cold wind. Y/n's small smile didn't falter, and Tyler took that as a sign that what they were doing was okay. Maybe she wanted to kiss him as much as he wanted to kiss her.

He leaned closer, his eyes finally closing as his lips felt for hers.

However, he didn't get a chance to meet her lips as he heard the slide door open and his uncle calm out: "dinner!"

Tyler pulled away abruptly, quickly getting up off of her. Y/n did the same, letting out a long breath that she must've been holding while they were staring at each other. She tucked a piece of her now frizzy curled hair behind her ear. Her body was practically screaming at her that she was cold, but she couldn't help be feel warm inside.

"We could just-" Tyler began, glancing at the shed.

"Yeah, we should just go eat. That's probably best." Y/n Interrupted, oblivious to Tyler's offer.

Tyler looked back at the shed one last time, before scratching the back of his neck now physically uncomfortable. "Y-yeah that's... that's probably a good idea. Yeah."

We'll see how many chapters, because at the moment I don't even know.

I don't even know what I'm doing with these time jump lines anymore... 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hope you enjoyed this one.
