"I will love you forever. And no matter what happens I will never leave you. I promise." Tyler said at his wedding, in front of the love of his life.
After the wedding they moved in together, buying an apartment and Tyler struggling to make ends meet. But he did it. All for his love.
About 2 years later, Y/N found out she was pregnant. Tyler was astatic, and couldn't speak over shock and happiness.
4 months later they found out she had a miscarriage. Y/N couldn't sleep for weeks. She felt empty inside. Like a part of her heart was ripped from her body. Tyler was sad too, but handled it better. All for his love.
They both started getting distant. It wasn't on purpose, it was just hard for Tyler to see Y/N so sad and have to mask his own pain for the sake of her. Even though she tried to ask him how he was; he would reply he was fine.
Tyler started coming home later than normal, because he didn't want to go home and face his responsibilities just yet. That was hard on Y/N but she knew he needed space, so she didn't mention it.
Soon Tyler had gotten frustrated, and would yell at
Y/N. He didn't mean to, he was stressed.
She told him that she was unhappy by the way he was never home. And he promised her he would do better. All for his love.
A few weeks later Tyler couldnt take it anymore, and cried into Y/N's shoulder. All the pain and sadness built up in him from the miscarriage and the stress got to him, and Y/N made sure she was there.
Tyler began writing music, and playing with his best friend Jøsh.
Y/N started forgetting things. Little things. Like where she saw the keys last. No big deal.
Tyler made a full album for his band Twenty Ãne Piløts. Y/N was so proud of him, and he got to play in front of 7 people.
But those 7 people were just enough to keep him going with the career choice.
Soon Tyler and Y/N gathered enough money to buy a house. They were planning on having a child soon. Not at the moment but soon.
Y/N was walking home from work one evening, and forgot where she lived. It wasn't a big deal, she said. Her mind was just fuzzy, she said.
She called Tyler to come pick her up, and he happily did so. He asked her about how she forgot where she lived since she would walk home almost every day. She just said her mind was in the clouds today.
Twenty Ãne Piløts got signed. Fueled by Ramen. Tyler made sure to do a bunch of research before picking a label, just in case they wanted to change who they were and what they stood for. Fueled by Ramen was the best choice.
Y/N forgot how she gets home again. But this time she kept going, so she wouldn't concern Tyler. This just ended up getting her more lost than she was originally.
She finally gave up, and called Tyler crying. She was lost, and she was scared. When Tyler picked up he heard her sobs and immediately asked her what happened.
She told him the situation and he told her to name the street name that she's at. She didn't have view of a street sign though so he asked her if she remembered the last street sign, but she didn't.
Finally Tyler used his Find a Friend app and got her safely home.
Tyler was concerned, and insisted her going to the doctor. She didn't want to, nothing was wrong with her.
Dementia.
She had dementia, it wasn't severe but the doctor said to prepare for the worst.
On the way home, Y/N told Tyler that she would like the have a baby now. Tyler squinted his eyes at this, very confused.
She just found out she had dementia and she wants to have a child?
She said she didn't want to leave this world without making a mark, so she might as well make it before she lost her mind completely.
Tyler refused this, even though he would love to have a child. It's to much for her, and they had to deal with this situation first. Tyler has to take care of her.
The dementia had gotten worse.
Y/N started freaking out when she woke up from her nap. Tyler was no where to be seen, and she frantically called him.
He answered and told her he had been at the studio since 12:00 pm and that he told her he was leaving.
He then came home minutes later, so he could take care of her in one of her forgetful episodes. All for his love.
Y/N forgot her name. And Tyler's heart sank when she tried to figure out how to cover it up.
Soon he just told her, and she said she knew but Tyler knew better. He's losing his love right in front of his eyes.
Jøsh came over, and Y/N thought he was there to hurt her. Tyler was out getting groceries, and Y/N was in the closet. She didn't know who Jøsh was.
She panicked! and called Tyler, when he picked up he greeted her by telling her Jøsh was on his way.
When he heard she was hyperventilating he attempted to calm her down. She told him someone was knocking on the door, and he tried to reassure her that it was Jøsh.
5 minutes later Tyler arrived back at home, and Jøsh was sitting on the porch. He explained to Tyler that Y/N wouldn't come to the door and was getting worried, but Tyler explained that she didn't remember who he was and got scared.
Tyler opened the closet door, and found Y/N crying. He went and comforted her, telling her everything was okay. And that Jøsh was a friend. Tyler hated seeing her like this. It took a piece of his heart every time he saw her upset and forgetful. But he wouldn't let her know that. Everything was going to be okay, and Tyler was planning on keeping it that way. All for his love.
"Good morning, darling." Tyler cheered, in his rasped morning voice.
Y/N smiled and proceeded to sit down at the table.
"How'd you sleep?" Tyler asked, glancing over at his beautiful wife. She didn't look all with it. Her face was blank.
"I slept fine, thank you." She nodded her head. Tyler nodded, giving her a slight smile.
"I made you Pancakes, because those are your favorite." He set them in front of her.
"Thank you..." she looked at him as if expecting him to answer his name.
His smile left his face, as he slouched down in disappointment.
"You're supposed to tell me your name." Y/N giggled.
Tyler's heart sank like a pebble hitting the water, as he stared at his wife.
"You don't know me?" He carefully, and painfully asked.
Her expression changes to shock, and then a smile.
"Of course I know you, silly." She covered up. "I was just seeing if you knew your name. Do you?" She asked smoothly.
He kneeled down beside her, so they were level.
"Tyler." He said quietly, and calmly. He plastered a fake smile on his face, to reassure her.
"You're my husband." She had a bright smile on her face, but her tone was unsure.
"And I love you so much." His eyes were sad, but he's learned to cover it up. A bright (fake) smile covered his face as he kissed her cheek. She giggled and turned to face her pancakes.
Tyler stared into space for a moment, thinking about how it used to be.
"You okay?" She asked absentmindedly.
"Yeah." He smiled. "I added nuts for you" he changed the subject and pointed to her pancakes as she took a bite.
"And they are delicious." She laughed.
Tyler sat down in the chair next to her. He was thinking of setting up a tour, but now he's having second thoughts. She really needs to stay home, and he needs to stay with her.
So he canceled the tour, and stayed home with her. All for his love.
"Tyler." Y/N said blankly one day. Tyler looked up from the couch and smiled at his name slipping out of her lips. "I think you should send me somewhere."
"Why?" Tyler sat up. This was the most sense she's made in a while and he was interested in what she wanted to say.
"Because I'm to much to handle. And you don't deserve this." She sat down beside him on the couch.
"That doesn't matter. I'm not letting you go to one of those crazy places to rot." He said firmly.
"Tyler you need to take a break from this. And I know I'm not always fully here, and everything is going down hill." She starts tearing up, and Tyler's face softens. "I don't want to live anymore! I'm just a burden to you, and to myself."
"Don't say that! You aren't, you are my number one priority and I enjoy taking care of you." He took her in his arms and rubbed her shoulders for comfort.
"I don't want to do this anymore. I don't even remember how we met." She sobbed in his shoulder.
"We met in a frozen yogurt place. You were trying to make the stupid ice cream machine to work, and I decided to give you some help. The only think I could think about was how beautiful you were and how amazing your voice was. And you were so nice, and just perfect." He smiled at the memory, and Y/N had calmed down her sobs to listen. "And you still are. Perfect that is." He kissed her forehead.
"Why are you still here?" She asked.
"All for you, my love." He said. His heart felt warm, and his smile became genuine for the first time in a while.
All for his love.

Now, I don't know anyone with dementia and I'm not sure if this is how it is, but I felt like it was sweet but also sad.
