I wiped the sand and the water off my face and clothes then turned around to see whoâs done this lame thing.
âLliana! Youâre the most horrible friend in this whole life,â I said angrily then stood up and ran after her. Of course she was my best friend only now I dare to call her my worst friend.
âIâm sorry, Iâm sorry. I thought that I could have a catchy entrance and ruin the moment and stuff like that,â
âYouâve ruined the moment, my hair and clothes. Thatâs not catchy!â I shouted out. Then she stopped and I did the same as well, both out of breath.
âBut it was funny,â she exclaimed then laughed. âYou look amazing,â She took out her phone and took a picture of me looking like crap.
âYou think this is funny? Iâll show you whatâs funny,â I told her and we kept running after each other for some time mostly playing with the sand hardly noticing Aaron still sitting on the shore.
After a while the two of us were extremely tired. Then I remembered that Aaron was there to witness my ultimate embracement So, I introduced him to Lliana and told her that heâs my friend then they shook hands.
âSo, Why are you here?â I asked her.
âUm... look, my uncle and aunt are going to spend the summer in France and visit some relatives and Erik donât want to go with them. He wants to stay here with me. So if you donât mind could he stay with us in the apartment?â She asked me hesitant.
I looked at her. Erik was younger than me with three year and I really loved him as a brother. I used to spend all of my time with Lliana and him when I was at my home town. But still, living with us in the same apartment. Isnât the most comfortable decision to make. Although I donât want to make Lilly mad. I really donât know what to say.
Although, I donât blame Erik for not wanting to go visit his family, the one who acted like they didnât even know him and his sister when their parents died. The only ones that have always got their backs were their uncle and aunt.
âErik is coming here? Thatâs great,â
âYeah, I know. I really miss him and Iâm sure you missed him too,â She exclaimed enthusiastically. I was happy and excited to see him too just not sure how to tell her that he canât stay with us.
âSo? Shall I call him and tell him everything is ready?â She asked. I stayed quit thinking of a nice way to say no. And she raised a eyebrow as if to ask why am I taking so long to answer her. I cleared my throat getting ready to start my long apology speech and praying that I wonât lose my best friend for how crappy it will be.
âUm... Lilly,â I didnât get to finish as Aaron cut me off saying:
âSorry to interrupt but, Whoâs Erik?â He asked Lliana.
âHeâs my younger brother,â she answered.
âWell I donât see why should three people live in the same apartment together when mine is empty. He can stay with me if he wants,â Aaron offered and Lliana was stunned but not more than I was. I mean, you canât find someone offering you a place to stay in everyday.
âYou mean you donât mind?â She asked him.
âSure, I donât like staying alone anyways.â He said casually.
âBut I donât know if Erik would agree. You see, we donât really have money to pay another rent. But thanks for offering.â She mumbled embraced.
âPshsh. What rent? Iâm sorry but I donât take money from my friends,â He said lightly.
âIâm sure that Erikâd love to. They can play games all day if they want,â I said because it seemed like it was my time to act now and Aaron nodded with a smile. I havenât noticed that heâs got a cute little dimple on his right cheek when he smiles. Thatâs adorable.
âI really donât know what to tell you Aaron. Youâre a life saver thank you. I really appreciate that,â And Lliana finally agreed. She was right he did really save my life. I blow a puff of air with relief.
They made some quick arrangements for the time, phone number and address. Then she told me that we can go and eat something.
âOkay, go and Iâll catch up with you in a few minutes,â I Exclaimed.
She nodded and then walked away. I turned towards Aaron.
âThanks Aaron. I had no idea what to tell her.â I told him relieved.
âDonât worry about it. Itâs fine, really.â He said smiling at me.
I heard Lliana calling me to come. So I excused Aaron to go. And ran to Lliana.
âWow, heâs a really nice guy,â She said as soon as I joined her.
âHe is.â I said.
âJust one question, are those contact lenses heâs wearing?â She asked.
âI guess.â I answered her.
âThey look so natural. If it wasnât for the sun I wouldnât have noticed them at all.â I nodded at her. I bet she wants to go back and ask hum where did he get them now.
âBut, why would a guy wear brown contacts. Usually people go for the colored ones,â she kept asking questions and I stopped answering only donât have any answers and Iâm not really a big fan of them. But to be honest they look really good on him.
