Summer Love
"So, what do we want to do today?" I ask the boys as we sit sprawled across the couch--me in Louis' lap--in the garage. It's still before noon, and we are only here for a week or so, so we have to decide what we want to do.
"I don't know about you lads, but I haven't been able to hang around the house and just do normal stuff for a while, and it sounds quite lovely," Louis say.
"I second that!" Harry cries out, raising his hand straight in the air.
I look around and the other boys nod in agreement. Hey, I'm complaining.
"PERFECT! And maybe we can walk downtown for dinner later?" I suggest.
"Sounds absolutely spectacular!" Louis says with a smile.
I smile back at him, leaning in to give him a quick peck on the lips.
"Ugh! Not in front of the children!" Harry shouts, shielding his eyes.
"Yeah, we are happy for you and all, but none of that," Zayn says, gesturing to us in disgust.
"I'm sorry that I can now kiss my boyfriend whenever I please," I apologize sarcastically before leaning down to press my lips to his once again, followed by a chorus of groans.
"Oh, grow up!" I laugh at them.
"Okay, so moving on... what would you usually do here on a beautiful sunny day like this when you were a girl?" Louis asks, looking up to me.
"Hmm... we used to put the hose on the trampoline out back and jump around in our swimsuits?"
"YES!" the boys all shout, excluding Louis who is looking a little offset at my recommendation. I raise a brow at him.
"I don't know if I want you jumping around in a bathing suit in front of four lads who aren't your boyfriend."
I gasp, half-feigning shock and slap him across his chest.
"Perv!"
"Hey, you were the one who suggested it!" he laughs, putting his arms up in defense.
"You were the one who thought of it like that!"
"I'm a boy! That's what we do!"
"Whatever, stupid," I chuckle. "Hmm... we could have a water balloon fight?"
"PERFECT!" the boys agreed.
"Great! Let's go! And I can ask if Gen wants to join, too!"

Thirty minutes later, we have two coolers filled with colorful water balloons, two filling stations in the front and back yard for if teams need more balloons, and water guns.
"Louis and I will be team captains!" I shout at the group.
"You don't wanna be with me?" Louis mock pouts.
"I'm gonna be too busy kicking your ass." I smirk.
"Oh it's on!" Louis says, his attitude changing to competitive in a millisecond once he hears my challenge.
"You're going down! Don't even try to get your hopes up, carrot boy!"
"You wanna go there? Really?" he asks, feigning seriousness, although I knew the carrot joke would get him more worked up about beating me. It's fun messing with him.
"I do." I smirk.
He tries to glare back at me, but can't help the smirk that forms across his lips at my challenge. He gives up, laughing, and walks closer to grip my hips, giving me a swift kiss on the lips.
"I love you," he chuckles as we pull away.
"I love you, too."
We laugh at our cheesiness before we hear a cough.
"Hello?! We are still here!" Niall shouts, waving his arms around above his head.
"Sorry," I chuckle.
"Okay, well anyways! Teams! Ladies first," Louis speaks up.
"Okay... hmm... Zayn!" I choose, purely randomly.
"Gen!" Louis shouts, and Gen skips over to him with a smile.
"We can take her down, easily." Gen smirks at Louis.
"Oh, it will be easy," he jokes back at her as they both eye me up and down, sizing me up for whatever reason.
I roll my eyes before continuing, "Liam."
We continue until it's settled that the teams are Zayn, Liam, Niall, and I. Then Gen, Harry, and Louis. There are seven of us so the teams are inevitably uneven.
We all go to grab a balloon, readying ourselves for 'battle'. When Louis blows the whistle between his lips, all hell breaks loose.

"Where are you, Avery?" I hear Louis call. I'm hidden on the side of my house. I ran out of ammo as soon as I got back here, and now I'm trapped. I hold my breath as I hear his footsteps get closer and closer.
"I know you're here," he taunts.
I press my back up more firmly against the shed I'm hiding behind.
After a few seconds of not hearing anything from him, I think he's left or given up.
Right as I am about to step out from my safe place, I hear a popping sound and water comes rushing down my head. I flip around to see Louis standing there with a broken balloon he had popped above my head and a smirk.
"Found you!" he cries as he takes a step advancing towards me.
I turn to run, but before I can, he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close to him as he assaulted me with a water gun through his laughter.
"I'm gonna kill you for this, Lou!" I yell at him as I try to escape his grasp.
"You are no position to make threats, love," he chuckle.
I grunt, frustrated with the situation. I wriggle around enough until I'm facing him in his arms, staring at his cheeky expression.
"Having a good time, are we?" He smiles.
"No."
He pouts his lips. "Why not?"
"Because you are holding me captive after soaking me with a water balloon, stupid!" I laugh at him.
"I'm sorry," he playfully whines.
I roll my eyes at him. The stupid twat.
"It's okay," I drone.
He smiles at me in response before moving in to kiss my lips.
I my lips turn up as they met and moved against his.
It isn't a heated or deep kiss. It's as if we are just enjoying being close and together. It also probably has to do with the fact that we aren't on edge about anyone catching us. We are able to be comfortable in each other's arms.
My smile returns to my face, as it had gotten lost in his lips against mine, at the thought. I'm finally able to relax in my boyfriend's embrace, and it's the best damn feeling I could have ever imagined it would be, if not better.
Just as I feel his tongue start to move against my lips, a shower of freezing water comes down over us. I shriek as I pull my face away from Louis, but remain in his arms as the water descends around us.
I look over to find the source and see Harry standing a few feet away, the rest of the group and Genna behind him, with a hose in his hand.
"Seriously, Harry?!" I shriek, minutely annoyed with his interruption of Louis and I's blissful moment.
"No canoodling with the enemy!" Niall cries.
"Ugh," I groan. "What am I going to do with you boys?!"
"Feed us!" Niall pipes up once more. "We are starved."
"Okay, fine. I guess it's game over. Let's go dry off and we'll walk downtown for dinner," I decide aloud. Most of the balloons are gone and we are all drenched anyway. It's a good place to end and get food. Besides, knowing these boys, they won't last much longer without some food.
"Yes!" they all comply happily.
I roll my eyes at them. They are such dimbos sometimes.
âââââ
"You know, it's been a long time since we have just been able to walk around town," Zayn says, almost exasperatedly.
We are walking from my house to the downtown area a few blocks away for something to eat, and the boys, however still wearing minimal disguises so that they aren't blatantly recognizable, are enjoying the peaceful night that has become such a rarity in their lives.
"It's nice just hanging around like normal people. Like we used to before the X-Factor when our lives became public entertainment," Liam snipes.
"Well, you guys will love this place. It was my favorite place growing up. It's just this simple old fashion diner that has the best burgers in town," I beam. I'll admit that it's so much fun showing the boys around the place I spent my childhood years. This place is a big part of who I am, and being able to show the boys who are becoming a big part of my life as well is just a dream.
