The day had finally arrived.
Everything felt like a dreamâsoft whispers of excitement floating through the air, the scent of peonies filling the room, the sound of soft laughter and happy chatter. Our wedding day. The day I would marry Luigi, my love, my best friend.
I stood in front of the mirror, my wedding dress hugging my frame just right, my veil delicately placed over my head. My bouquetâfull of soft, pale peoniesârested in my hands. It was everything I had imagined and more.
I was just about to step out when I heard a soft knock on the door.
"Y/N?"
I turned, smiling as I saw one of my bridesmaids, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Ready?" she asked.
I nodded, taking a deep breath, my heart fluttering. "Yeah. I'm ready."
As I walked down the aisle, the music began to playâthe soft, timeless melody of "Forever" by The Little Dippers filling the space. It was perfect. A little 50s vibe mixed with our own modern twist. The guests were all smiling, their eyes filled with love as they turned to watch me approach.
But it wasn't until I saw Luigiâstanding at the end of the aisle, looking at me with that smile I adored, a mix of awe and warmthâthat my heart really started to race.
He looked incredible in his suit, his hair perfectly styled, his eyes already glistening with emotion. He was the most handsome man I had ever laid eyes on.
As I walked closer, I couldn't help but smile. There was something magical about the way we looked at each other, like we knew we were meant to be.
"Hi," he whispered when I finally reached him. His voice was filled with that quiet affection that always made me feel safe.
"Hi," I whispered back, my eyes brimming with tears I didn't want to shed, but couldn't stop.
The ceremony was beautifulâfilled with love, laughter, and promises we knew we'd keep. When it came time to exchange vows, I barely managed to get through mine without tearing up. But then Luigi took my hands in his, looking at me like I was the only person in the world.
"I promise to always love you, Y/N," he said, his voice steady and warm. "Through the good and the bad, through everything life throws our way, I'll always be by your side."
My heart swelled. "I promise to love you, too," I replied, my voice full of emotion. "To stand by you, to be your partner, your support, and your best friend."
When we sealed our vows with a kiss, the room erupted into cheers. It felt like everything in the world had come together perfectly.
The reception was just as beautifulâdancing, laughter, and the sweetness of cake as we cut it together. We shared a tender moment, laughing as we fed each other the first bite, not caring about the frosting on our faces.
"Forever," Luigi whispered in my ear as we swayed to the music, his voice teasing but still so full of love. "This is us, Y/N. You, me, and... this cheesy song." He chuckled, but there was so much affection in his voice. "We're forever. And you know what? I'm okay with that."
I laughed softly, resting my head on his chest. "Yeah, me too."
After the guests started to dance and enjoy the night, Luigi and I slipped away from the crowd. We found a quiet corner of the garden, away from the noise.
I turned to face him, my heart still racing. "I can't believe we're married," I said softly, my eyes meeting his.
"I know," he said, his hand brushing against mine. "Feels like a dream, doesn't it?"
I nodded, stepping closer to him. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me in for a slow, sweet kissâone that held all the promise of the life we were about to begin.
"I love you so much, Y/N," he whispered as he pulled back, his forehead resting against mine. "You make me feel like the luckiest guy in the world."
"I love you too," I whispered, my heart swelling with love. "And I'm the lucky one."
We stood there in silence for a moment, holding each other, savoring the moment. It was just usâno one else in the world mattered, not when we had each other.
"I'm never letting you go," he said, a teasing glint in his eyes.
"I don't plan on going anywhere," I smiled back.
