Chapter 21: Chapter 19 ✔️

Dear Diary

People have different kinds of ways to let off some steam. Some exercise, some dance, some eat and some just sleep it off. Another great way, according to Emily, is going to a music festival with a group of friends. She's always one to get a group together and head out to the unknown. This time she is dragging us all to the annual Spring Music Festival just an hour out of town somewhere on a farm. It kind of sounds like fun. Let's hope nothing bad happens. Oh who am I kidding? Something bad always happens.

~Ally

" Road trip!" Emily yells over the call that is connected with the bluetooth in Tyler's car.

" It's an hour away Em. Not that far." I chuckle as I pack away my diary.

Tyler agrees as he too chuckles before making a left turn to head out of town. I pray to God that he knows the way to the farm.

" I can't help it. I'm just soooooo excited!" Emily shrieks.

I hear a few complaints coming from Trish and Samantha that are in the backseat of Emily's convertible. I don't blame them. Asthon tried to get Emily to leave her car and go with his but she didn't want to hear it. The poor guy is probably scarred by now.

" I'll see you in an hour. Bye Em and drive-" the call ends leaving the music to come back up and fill the car.

I shake my head in disapproval. How dare she just hang up on me? It might as well have been my last words to her and she just cut it off. We're gonna have a serious chat.

" Road trip! " Mason yells from behind us.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that someone decided to tag along. I should've gone with my own car but I'm not planning on staying sober tonight.

The last two weeks have been hectic. From studying my ass off to trying to cope with stuff going on back at home. It's exhausting. In these past two weeks I've only heard from mom once and it was when she called to tell me dad moved out so that I won't freak out when I popped by. After that she hasn't called again and when I send her a text she doesn't reply. It worries me because she never acts like this. I don't like her breathing on my neck 24/7 but I don't like her ghosting me like this. I just hope some of her family steps up and helps her through this tough time. She has a sister that lives close by but they aren't on speaking terms and I don't think mom will appreciate me trying to cheer her up for many reasons. So I'll just leave it to the people over there. Right now I'm going to take advantage of not being watched closely and enjoy my life. Even if Mason is in it.

" I thought you said you were going to stay quiet the entire time." I snap as I turn around and glare at Mason.

The deal was that he could tag along because he wants to get wasted and not have to worry about getting home but he can't say a word the entire way. It seemed reasonable if you ask me.

" I just had to. " he defends himself.

I roll my eyes and decide on ignoring him. The music drowns the silence in the car as I focus my attention on the trees passing by. Tyler is surprisingly quiet. I wonder what is up with him? After the day we babysat Tayla, Emily's niece, we've been hanging out more. I can now tolerate him a little seeing as he isn't constantly flirting and that way he can also keep an closer eye on me to check if I'm not smoking. It's day 18 of not smoking. I feel fine. I'm actually really proud of myself.

" Are we there yet?" Mason whines after 10 minutes.

" No."

The car goes silent again as we listen to the sweet sound of BTS. Man I love their music. I didn't at the start but after watching them dance on The Late Late Show By James Corden I've been obsessed.

" What about now?" Mason whines again.

I feel my eye twitch in annoyance. He's acting like a child. No, worse than a child.

" Mason for the love of-"

" Now-now children behave." Tyler speaks up for the first time since the trip started.

Mason is the child. I'm doing perfectly fine here on my own. He's the one being irritating. It's not my fault if my fist accidentally becomes familiar with his face today. I blame it on reflexes.

I puff out in annoyance as Mason mumbles something. Okay now I see it. We are kind of acting like children.

After that not a word is muttered and soon enough we turn into the entrance of what I assume is a farm. If a chicken is going to chase me tonight I might lay an egg myself. I don't like chickens. Maybe that's why I don't like Mason, his face reminds me a little bit of a chicken.

Or you just don't like him my conscience adds.

"Do we have everything?" Tyler asks as we finish unloading the car.

" I think so." I shrug as I look down at the various items placed on the floor. From towels to coolers to sunscreen. We came prepared. Apparently there is going to be a foam party in the middle of the event. Glad I have my bikini on underneath.

" Party!" I hear Emily yell as they drive into the parking space next to Tyler's car.

The four of them climb out as another car pulls up next to Emily's car. Out climbs Zac, Jackson and Parker. Everyone is here except Gabby, of course. Emily would throw a fit if someone invited her to tag along. I don't think anyone wants her here. I know I don't.

" Lets go!" Emily shrieks as everyone grabs things to carry with them.

Emily runs forward and Ashton is short on her tail. I still pray for that guy. How the hell is he still coping with Emily?

Once we reach the main gate they scan our tickets and let us through. We find a place to set up and soon enough everyone scatters around in different directions. There is already music playing on the makeshift stage but the big artists are performing later on.

It's just about noon so the sun is already baking on my skin. I need to savor these last few sunny days before the winter drains all the color from my body. I like summer more than winter. There is just so much more one can do in the summer. I know cuddles and hot choclate seem like heaven in winter but honstley the weather makes me depressed.

" Want to get a drink?" Tyler asks from behind me.

Don't mind if I do.

***

" Best day ever!" Emily yells as she jumps along with the music.

I take another sip from my vodka and cranberry before jumping along. I try and hold my balance but the music and alcohol are doing something to me.

We are covered in foam from all the bubbles. I seem to have lost my shirt somewhere but I don't care because I have my bikini on. I can dance like this the whole night long. Emily is also without a shirt but with Asthon so close by she might as well be wearing a shirt. I'm third wheeling like bad right now seeing as I don't know where the others disappeared off to. But who cares? My vodka is my plus one.

I watch as Ashton pulls off his shirt and basically forces Emily into it. She stumbles around, most likely due to the alcohol, and falls onto her behind. Once she realizes that she fell in the middle of a crowd she burst out laughing. Seeing her laugh makes me almost spit out my drink and laugh with her. In a matter of seconds I end up next to her as we laugh our sanity away and we don't even know why.

" Girls you need to get up." Ashton whines as he tries to pull us up.

Emily's arms wrap around my waist and I wrap my arms around her neck preventing Ashton from splitting us apart.

" I'll never let go!" I yell and burst out laughing once again.

Ashton looks frustrated as he looks around for help I assume. It won't help. The grass feels good to sit on right now. Why should we get up?

I watch as Parker comes into view. He seems to be in a heated conversation with Ashton. I don't bother myself with them as Emily and I have a stare down. We aren't even that drunk yet we are sitting here acting like a teenager at her first high school party. The music definitely has something to do with this.

I feel hands wrap around my arms and in a matter of seconds I'm pulled away from Emily and onto my feet.

" Ty-Ty!" I yell as I see Tyler's amused expression.

He chuckles before shaking his head.

" Next round is on me!" Emily yells before heading off to buy more drinks.

Why the hell not?

***

" Why do men get to have such nice behinds?"

" It's unfair. " I shake my head in disappointment.

" A-and why like why do they have such a sharp jawline? Like I mean I want a sharp jawline. Why can't I have a sharp jawline?"

" Em don't cry." I sniff as I take another sip from my drink. My grip loosens around my cup and the drink comes falling down onto the grass.

" Okay now we can cry. " I deadpan as I look at my once beloved drink.

The sun has set by now and to say we are over our drinking limit is an understament. We were over our drinking limit 8 rounds ago.

Emily and I are sitting on a bench a little further away from the music. It was getting cramped and I needed to catch a breath. We disappeared without Ashton or Tyler following us. Their presence is making me feel even more cramped than the people here.

" We should catch a rabbit." I blurt after a short while.

Emily's eyes grow double their size as she looks over at me. Slowly a grin forms on her face and I can see she agrees with me.

We're on a farm. I'm sure there is a rabbit somewhere.

" And then we can hold it and question it on why he was so lazy and let the tortoise win." Emily shrieks.

She's not making any sense right now but who cares?

We get up and start walking to the back of the festival where nothing really is going on. Once we reach a fence that leads out onto the rest of the farm we come to a stop.

" Okay I'll jump f-first, you throw our shoes over and then you can jump!" Emily shrieks.

I nod in excitement.

This is not a good idea.

Emily starts pulling off her shoes and throws it down onto the grass. The fence reaches her shoulders so luckily it isn't impossible to climb over.

She does a little jump and throws her left leg over. I don't even get to register the fact that she lifted herself so easily before she falls face first into the grass on the other side of the fence.

" I'm o-okay." she mumbles still laying on the grass.

That fall must have hurt. I'm still going to attempt to jump over.

I take off my shoes and throw both mine and Emily's shoes over the fence. I do the same as Emily did and do a little jump. My left leg doesn't reach high enough so that I can throw it over so I have to jump again. Before I can attempt to jump again I hear an all too familiar voice yell from behind me.

Shit. Tyler.

" Ally quick!" Emily yells as she too notices that Tyler is hot on my heels.

I jump again but I'm quickly brought back down by Tyler's hands on my waist.

" Emily run! Save yourself!" I yell over dramatically as Tyler pulls me away from the fence.

Emily looks unsure of what to do as she starts gathering our shoes. Next thing I know Ashton jumps over the fence in one swift movement, startling both Emily and I. The shoes fall out of Emily's arms from the sudden shock. She panics as she picks them up again but before she can run Ashton already has a grip on her.

" Noooo!" I yell and try to wriggle myself out of Tyler's strong grip.

" Now we'll never know why the rabbit was so lazy." I hear Emily cry.

Tyler and Ashton look as confused as ever but nevertheless Ashton manages to get Emily over the fence and back on our side.

" What the hell were you girls thinking?!" Ashton yells.

" D-don't raise your voice! " I sob.

Oh no. Here we go.

" You asshole! You m-made Ally c-cry!" Emily pushes Ashton against his chest and runs over to me. She wraps her arms around me and pulls me in for a hug.

We stand like this while the boys seem to have their own conversation. They start to argue over something but I can't quite make out what they are saying. Why is everyone arguing around us? After a while I feel a hand wrap around my arm and pull me away from Emily. I feel like Rose leaving Jack's hand on The Titanic.

" We're going home." Tyler announces.

Oh hell no. I've just started partying. I wanted to catch a rabbit but no. I at least want to stay and enjoy the music.

" No. It's like 2pm Ty-Ty. The music is only beginning." I whine.

" Ally it's 2am." Tyler chuckles as he wraps his arm around my waist and starts leading me away from Emily.

Goodbye old friend. I'll see you again.

" I want to party!"

" I want Advil. " I hear Tyler mumble.

Once we reach the makeshift stage I do notice that most people have already gone home. How long did Emily and I try and climb over the fence? How did the security not notice two drunk girls trying to climb over the fence?

" You have a funny nose." I giggle as I poke Tyler's nose.

He slaps my hand away and wriggles his nose. It only makes me want to poke it again. I go in for the poke only to get my hand smacked away.

" Piggyback!" I yell out of the blue and jump onto Tyler's back. Luckily he manages to catch me. I'm glad he did because otherwise I would have fallen flat on my behind. Hah. That would actually be really funny.

" What's so funny?" Tyler asks as he unlocks the passenger door for me.

We're already at the car? Damn. Wait a fat minute. Is-is Tyler the Flash? No fucking way. Tyler is the Flash. He used his powers to get to the car so fast. It's the only logical explanation. Oh my God. Tyler is the Flash.

" What color is your suit?" I ask as soon as Tyler gets into the driver's side.

My mouth is open from the shock as I try and put the puzzle pieces together. I'm friends with the Flash. That's so cool. I need to tell my mom. Oh wait no. His identity should stay a secret. Can I tell my diary?

" What are you talking about?" Tyler chuckles as he speeds off.

" I know what you are. No more lying." I smirk.

Tyler looks utterly confused. He's playing games with me. I ain't that dumb.

" I'm not sure I follow."

I roll my eyes. I already figured out who he is. Why try and lie?

" It's okay I'll keep your secret. "I wink as I seal my lips shut.

" What secret? "

He's playing hard to get.

" That you're the Flash. " I whisper the last part.

Tyler sighs before laughing. He's not even going to deny it? I knew I was right! Damn. I'm friends with a superhero.

" Can I be your sidekick? Pretty please. " I beg with my hands folded together.

" Of course you can. " Tyler chuckles as he turns off the car.

We're already home? See I knew he was the Flash!

" Oh my God. I'm a super hero's sidekick!" I shriek in excitement as Tyler comes to open my door.

" Shh. It must stay a secret." he scolds while placing a finger on his lips.

My eyes grow wide as I realize that I basically almost gave our identity away. I'm so stupid.

" I'm a super hero's sidekick." I whisper.
