Dear Diary

When Tyler told me yesterday that he was going to pick me up today to 'talk it out' I didn't expect him to come banging on my door at 5 am. Well I guess I should've expected it because of that other time he woke me up to watch the sunrise. Anyways he took me to his spot again and we talked a lot but never once did the topic come up about what happened yesterday. I'm grateful that it didn't because I never want to look back on that day. I feel a lot better now. I don't feel as if I'm going to fall apart at any moment. I feel in control again. I still haven't heard from neither mom or dad. Which is surprising because I left the house without saying anything and mom didn't call to ask. I guess she's going to ignore me as well. At least she'll be off my back for a while. I wonder how long that'll last?

I look up from my diary as I feel Tyler's intense stare on me. I've been feeling his eyes on me ever since I took out my diary and started writing. We are currently sitting under a tree just outside my building. It's always nice to sit outside and savor up the heat, especially with winter just around the corner.

" Stop looking at me like that." I chuckle. I place my book into the mini backpack I brought along. Tyler wanted to have a mini picnic outside while the weather was still nice and so he manged to convince Emily to invite Asthon over. Not that it took a lot of convincing because Emily of course saw this as a chance to play cupid again.

" Like what?" Tyler asks innocently.

I roll my eyes at his innocence.

" Like I'm a riddle you're trying to figure out." I sigh as I look back up into his piercing eyes.

" You are a riddle I'm trying to figure out." he chuckles.

Why must he always have an answer to everything? I kinda feel dumb that I don't have a good comeback. Deciding to not dwell on my lack of comebacks I focus my attention back on Emily and Ashton who are busy playing with Twinkle.

I don't understand why they are playing with her out in the open as if it's their dog and not a dog that Emily kidnapped from her former best friend. The dog has been kidnapped for about 4 days and Emily still hasn't made a move to give her back. What if Gabby sees them with the dog? I think it's time to get the dog back home.

An idea pops into my head as I look over at Tyler with a smirk painted on my face.

" What do you say about kidnapping the dog from Emily and giving her back to Gabby?" I ask.

I want to kidnap the dog from its kidnapper to return back to its owner. Sounds weird when you put it that way.

" I've been waiting for some action." Tyler says as he fist bumps the air.

This is going to be fun but hard at the same time because it'll be difficult to get the dog without Emily knowing. She's gonna be so pissed once she finds out we gave the dog back to Gabby but I mean come on, it's been 4 days.

" Okay I'll find a way to distract Emily and Ashton while you get the dog." I lay out our game plan.

It's not much of a game plan but it'll have to do.

We shake on it before I start making my way over to Emily. I'm about to take my acting skills to the next level.

Before reaching Emily I make sure to let loose a few stray tears. I know Emily is a sucker when it comes to people crying and I know it's bad to use it against her but it's for her own good.

" Em." I sob as I reach her.

Her eyes immediately bulges as she notices my tear stricken face. She leaves Ashton and Twinkle behind as she completely focuses on me.

" What happened?" she asks as she pulls me into a tight hug.

" I-I lost my diary." I sob onto her shoulder.

Please buy my lame excuse.

" Oh Ally. I'm so sorry. When was the last time you used it?" she asks as she rubs my back.

Shit. I still need to get Ashton's attention before Tyler makes a run for it.

" I can't remeber. Ashton I-I just need a group hug." I continue on sobbing.

Even I won't believe the shit that's coming out of my mouth. Luckily for me, Emily isn't the brightest and she seems to believe me. Ashton hesitantly walks over and Emily pulls him into the hug as well. Hopefully Tyler sees how uncomfortable I am about all of this and does his part of the game plan quickly.

I continue to sob into the group hug. Everything seems to go as plan until Twinkle barks. Emily stiffens as she turns around and catches Tyler running after the dog and trying to catch it.

Fuck.

He had one job. One.

I see as Emily's face comes to realization of what I was trying to do.

" Twinkle!" Emily yells and before she can sprint off after Tyler I tackle her into the grass.

" Get the dog Ashton!" she yells as she tries to wriggle out of my grip.

Ashton makes a bee line in Tyler's direction.

" Watch out Tyler!" I yell. Tyler looks up and notices that Ashton is hot on his tail.

" Why are you doing this?!" Emily yells from underneath me.

I struggle to keep her in place. Damn this girl has muscles.

" It's for you own good!" I yell back.

Emily starts sobbing. I don't realize that my grip has loosend and in a matter of seconds she's out of my grip.

" No!" I yell as I leap forward and get a steady grip on her ankle. Emily falls down onto the grass again and I manage to get on top of her.

I now realize the amount of attention we are receiving. It's not everyday you see a group of 4 college students fighting to catch a dog.

" You bitch!" Emily yells. I feel a tantrum coming my way.

I look up just in time to see Tyler managing to catch Twinkle in his arms. He looks unsure of what to do next but when he sees Ashton sprinting after him he makes a bee line for the parking lot.

I should probably follow.

Releasing Emily I jump up and sprint for the parking lot. I manage to pass numerous people. I purposely bump into Ashton making him lose his balance and fall. It gave me a decent head start to rush over to Tyler's car. I pray to God he has his keys.

Just as I reach the car Tyler unlocks it and we both jump in.

" Drive!" I yell as I see an extremely pissed off Emily heading our way through the review mirror.

Tyler quickly starts the car before he drives out of the parking lot. I'm so going to hear it once I come back home later.

The car is silent as the two of us sit and catch our breath. Twinkle decides to break the silence by barking. I look over at Tyler and the two of us burst out in laughter.

" That was insane." I laugh as I look back at Twinkle who is sitting on Tyler's back seat.

" Tell me about it." Tyler chuckles.

I remeber briefly from one of Emily's many gossip sessions that Gabby lives off campus near Dommy's Cafe. After what feels like hours we finally reach her house that she's sharing with 3 other girls. I had to call Samantha to double check and make sure we aren't just going to leave the dog on some stranger's doorstep.

" You take her."

" No you take her."

" It was your plan to kidnap the dog Ally."

" Urg. Fine." I groan as I climb out of the car and get Twinkle from the backseat.

A thought crosses my mind that I can't exactly go knock on their front door with the dog that's been missing for the last few days. Gabby will for sure know that Emily was behind this. I look around and see a kid with a skateboard coming my way. I step more to the side to block him from passing me and making him come to a stop.

" Hey kid. I'll give you 20 bucks if you knock on this house's door and give the dog to whoever opens it." I bargain. Please don't be one of the many reasons I don't like kids.

" Cool." the kid answers as he takes the dog from my arms.

Before he walks off I stop him once again.

" You didn't see me. You just found the dog wondering around and went knocking on doors." I warn. The kid nods and walks towards the house.

I watch as he knocks. I hide behind a bush so that no one can see me from the house. After a minute or so the door opens up to Gabby. She looks shocked once she realizes her dog is in the kid's arms. I watch as they exchange a few words. Not long after Gabby turns back to go into the house and the kid makes his way back to me.

" Nice job." I grin as I high five him. I lead him over to Tyler's side of the car. Tyler rolls down his window and gives me a confused look.

" Give the kid 20 bucks. I left my things under the tree." I shrug.

Tyler rolls his eyes but nevertheless rummages in his car and pulls out a $20 bill. I smile as I take the money and give it to the kid. Rounding the car I hop into the passenger seat.

" Well my good dead for the day is done. " I announce as we drive off.

" You know Emily is probably planning your funeral by now?" Tyler chuckles.

That she most likely is. I was only trying to do a good thing for a change. Poor Gabby must have been so worried.

You ain't fooling me.

" Where to now?" Tyler asks after a few minutes of silence.

" I'm kind of hungry. " I shrug.

" When are you not?" Tyler laughs.

We pull up into the parking lot of Dommy's Cafe. I'm starving by the time we take our seats. All this running around and trying to hold Emily down has drained me.

" So about yesterday... "Tyler decides to finally bring up the subject. Damn it. I really thought we were just going to let this one go.

" Periods. What can a girl do? "I laugh as I take a sip from my strawberry milkshake.

" I have a sister. She never acts the way you do when Satan pays a visit. " he says as he quirks an eyebrow.

I roll my eyes and try to avoid contact.  After a while of him just staring at me I sigh out of frustration. I hate it when people stare at me longer than necessary.

" My parents are getting a divorce. I'm sorry if I acted a little on edge but I feel fine now." I admit.

I'm not lying but I'm not telling the entire truth.

The waiter comes back and gives us our food. As soon as he leaves I can feel Tyler's eyes back on me.

" Are you sure you're okay? "

" Yes Tyler I'm perfectly fine. This is why I don't tell people about that kind of stuff because they never believe me when I tell them I'm fine." I say frustrated.

I'm not very good with feelings if you haven't noticed. I'm just really glad I don't feel like crying the whole pasific ocean today.

" I believe you. You're a tough cookie. I know you'll get through it. " Tyler shrugs.

I'm surprised he just left the subject. I thought he'd be the one to drill out every last bit of emotion I'm trying to cover up like most people do. I'm glad he sees that I'll be okay because I will. My parents divorce is something I expected to happen a long time ago. They stopped talking to each other months ago and only interacted when it was necessary. After everything that went down I don't blame them for getting a divorce. I just wish they could stop ignoring me and acknowledge that they still have a daughter. Even if she's messed up like me.

" Have you smoked yet?" Tyler suddenly asks.

" Now why would I do that if I can have a flirt free Tyler for as long as I want?" I chuckle.

After I accepted the challenge of not smoking in exchange for Tyler to stop flirting 3 days ago I haven't smoked since. Not even after the bombshell mom dropped. I'm proud of myself. Just comes to show that I'm not addicted and I can stop at any time I want to.

" Remeber I have eyes everywhere." Tyler warns.

Not creepy at all.
