Many years passed and life continued for both Majnun and Layla. They accepted what they were given and continued their lives physically seperate from one another yet always within each others hearts. The end of their story comes with the end of Layla for she died of an illness that no doctor could cure and the birds and the animals, who were all Majnun's friends, rushed to give him this soul wrenching news.
With this news Majnun smiled, he didn't despair, he travelled for days till he reached Layla's grave. There as he sat he spoke to her long, "Oh unfaithful beloved, we promised together to leave this earth, yet you left before me leaving me no condolence, what will I do without your sweet good nights? How will I live without the warmth of your breath?"
As he spoke gentle tears fell from his eyes, wetting the gravestone and cleansing it of dirt. Where those tears once fell there are flowers now bloom with beauty and grace they enliven the air, remembering always the Reunion of hearts.
On that eventful day O friend, Majnun chose to rest his head upon the dirt of Layla's grave and there he slept forever more his flesh, his bones to dust returned. Though while in this life they were never together, in death they were one, forever united.
