Eunice stood in front of the teachers, the principal, and Dove's parents, her body trembling uncontrollably. The weight of the moment settled on her shoulders, and she could feel every pair of eyes on her, waiting for her to speak. The tension in the room was suffocating.
Dove's parents stood beside the principal, and they faced a mix of disbelief and anger. Professor Lee, the principal, and the others watched her closely. Minho, Megan, and Hyejin were behind her, all of them silent but vigilant. Eunice had no choice but to confess. There was no going back now.
Taking a shaky breath, Eunice finally spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. "I... I did it. I drugged Dove's drink. I didn't mean for her to get sick... I didn't know it would be that bad." Her words seemed to hang in the air like a heavy fog, each syllable cutting through her like a knife. "I did it because Yuri told me to. She said it would just make Dove lose her voice for a while, that it would give her an edge in the competition, but... I didn't know it would hurt her like this. I swear, I didn't mean for any of it to happen."
Dove's father's face twisted with fury, his hand gripping the edge of the table tightly as he leaned forward. "You're telling me you poisoned my daughter because someone told you to?" His voice was low but filled with an unmistakable venom. "How could you do something like this?"
Eunice's eyes welled up with tears, her body shaking as she fought to keep herself from breaking down. "I was scared," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Yuri... she made me do it. She said I had no choice. She was angry, and I didn't want to get on her bad side. I didn't think it would be this bad, I thought it would just be a little setback for Dove, but I was wrong. I swear, I didn't know she'd get hurt like this."
Dove's mother, who had been silently watching the scene unfold, finally spoke up, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and grief. "How could you do this to my daughter? You knew what you were doing was wrong, and yet you still did it." Her gaze was sharp and full of hurt. "You don't understand what this has done to her, to us."
Eunice choked on her words, tears now streaming down her face. "I'm so sorry... I never meant for this to happen. I swear, I didn't know she'd get hurt. I thought I was just helping Yuri, but I didn't know she was going to do this."
Dove's father's face darkened as he processed Eunice's words. "Who is this Yuri?" he demanded, his voice cold and sharp.
Eunice hesitated, her eyes darting to the principal. The principal's face had gone ashen, and he looked visibly uncomfortable under the weight of the question.
The tension in the room was palpable as Eunice finally spoke, her voice barely a whisper. "She's the daughter of the principal."
Dove's parents exchanged a look of shock and disbelief, their eyes widening in stunned silence. Dove's father turned to the principal, his voice dangerously low. "You mean to tell me that your daughter is the one responsible for poisoning my daughter?"
The principal looked like he had just been struck. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out at first. His face twisted in a mixture of guilt and unease as he glanced around the room, meeting the eyes of Dove's furious parents.
"Yuri," Dove's mother repeated, her voice rising in disbelief. "Your daughter is the one who caused this?" Her tone was thick with anger and confusion, and she looked like she couldn't quite believe the words she was hearing.
The principal shifted uncomfortably, his eyes flicking to Eunice before settling back on Dove's parents. "I... I didn't know about this. Yuri... she must've made a terrible mistake. I'll make sure she faces the consequences for what she's done."
Dove's father stepped forward, his voice sharp as a knife. "You're telling me your own daughter had a hand in this? And you expect us to believe this was just a 'mistake'?"
The principal opened his mouth to respond, but Dove's father cut him off. "I want this handled. I want action now. You can't cover this up just because of your position!"
Dove's mother, trembling with a mix of grief and rage, added, "This is beyond a mistake, and we won't stand for it. You better deal with this properly, or I swear-"
The principal nodded quickly, clearly trying to salvage the situation. "I will. I'll make sure she is held accountable. I will do everything I can."
"Mr. and Mrs. Chauvin, we'll go find Yuri... but for now, I think both of you should return to the hospital. Dove is awake." Minho told Doves parents who instantly gasped and stood up.
"She's awake?" Her father asked, his English heavy with the French accent as Minho nodded, making them quickly leave.
"This isn't the end, Han." Dove's father said to the principal with a warning look.
As Minho, Megan, and Hyejin made their way toward finding Yuri, the air was thick with tension. They were all on edge, knowing that things had escalated to an unimaginable level. The search for Yuri felt urgent now-her involvement in Dove's situation had turned into something much darker than anyone had anticipated.
"We need to find her before the principal gets a chance to cover things up," Minho said, his voice low, but the sharp edge of determination cutting through.
Megan nodded. "She can't hide behind her father's position anymore. If she really did this to Dove, she's going to face the consequences."
Hyejin, usually more reserved, looked like she was ready to march through walls to find Yuri. "Let's get this over with," she muttered, her eyes narrowed in focus.
As they neared the area where Yuri was likely to be, Minho's thoughts raced. Was Yuri truly behind it all, or had she been manipulated by her father? He couldn't help but feel conflicted-if Yuri was the one who had done this, it meant betraying all of the trust they had in each other.
Finally, they spotted Yuri near a hallway, seemingly trying to slip away unnoticed. Minho took the lead, striding toward her with purpose. "Yuri," he called out, his voice firm.
Yuri froze, her back stiffening as she turned to face them. She forced a tight smile, but there was fear in her eyes. "What is it now, Minho?" she asked, her voice laced with a nervous edge.
Minho stepped forward, blocking her path. "We need to talk. You owe us answers."
Yuri's expression faltered for a moment before she recovered and crossed her arms. "I don't know what you think I've done, but I haven't done anything wrong."
"Cut the act, Yuri," Megan interjected. "We know it was you. We know what you did to Dove."

Things really did escalate.
Tbh, I fully thought that I was gonna make Stella the culprit, but it seemed a little too easy to guess ð
