It was 5:30 in the morning and I laid on my side watching the rise and fall of Jadahs chest. We have training in a few hours but I can't sleep. I'm actually holding my mate in my arms after a year without her. My arms instinctively tightened around her. She slept soundly nuzzled at my side as I gazed down at her face, her long eyelashes, plump lips, and blonde curls that slipped out of her bonnet. I chuckled at this before slipping them back under.
Words can't even describe how I feel right now. I know she needs her time and space and I'll give that to her. . .While being very close to her. Ryder is slowly coming back, he made several appearances yesterday but as long as me and Kim are connected by that mark, he won't truly forgive me-
"Malachi?" Her sweet melodic voice called,
"Hmmmm." I hummed, she turned over on her stomach,
"Stop staring at me." I chuckled a bit before laying on her back.
"I'm sorry angel, I was in awestruck by what I was seeing." I spoke in a daze by her beauty hoping she would wake up fully so we could talk more.
She rolled her eyes,"Such a cornball get off of me" she said amused rolling back over to look at me.
She looked at my alarm clock before looking at me and yawning.
"I have to get up in 30 minutes and you have to be up in an hour and 30 minutes why are you awake?" She asked sitting up on her side looking at me.
I felt giddy inside because I had her full attention.
"I'm just excited to have you here in my bed and by my side. It feels surreal like a dream, I was kinda afraid to go back to sleep because this feels too good to be true." I blushed a bit, she smiled at me.
"Well I am here to tell you it is not a dream and I'm right here. How'd you sleep before you started staring creep?" I smiled as we continued to talk.
Soon 30 minutes passed and went by in seconds.
"I have to get up and get ready to for training but before I go I have a question."
"Shoot."
"When I was away and you realized how much I meant to you, how come you never came out to find me?" She asked,
"After you left I felt ashamed, I thought about sending out search parties and looking for you but if I were to back track on my word I would've lost my alphas position. My family would've disowned me for lying and not being a man about my business and I would've been without a title."I finished honestly, she turned to face me.
"So your alphas position was more important than finding your mate?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
"No of course not but my parents still don't know you're my mate, so if I told them the truth they would be here as Alpha and Luna, not me. At the time my title and image was more important to me. So I protected it but that means nothing to me now." I clarified quickly. We were just getting somewhere I don't want to ruin it!
"Malachi for all you know, while you were here worrying about some position I could have been dead." She said getting up from my bed. I missed her warmth already.
"But you're not. I would have felt it and I would have died too. I missed you more than anything I wanted to come find you but I couldn't and at the time I didn't want to. Please don't confuse how I felt then with how I feel now. I've learned so much."I said softly taking her hands on mine. She nodded her head in agreement,
"I need to get ready to start my day." She began removing her hand from my grasp and I pulled her in for a hug.
"Don't go about your day upset, how I felt then has nothing to do with how I feel now. I won't ever let you go again. You're mine and I'm yours and we deserve to be in each other's arms. I want you to have a good day so stay in the present with me okay?" I squeezed her tighter rubbing her back soothingly.
"Now let me ask you a question." I said pulling back as she looked up to me.
"Were you and Tyler together?" I asked squinting holding her closer she threw her head back groaning before pushing against my chest.
"No Mal we were never together" She laughed rolling her eyes I growled, "You have nothing to fret about, I seen him teasing you and that was all it was." A smile covered my face and I leaned in for a kiss but missed as she ducked out of my arms and walked towards the door.
"Oh no you don't!" I chased after her and tried grabbing her arm but she grabbed my arm and pinned it behind me getting so close to my face I could feel her breath,
"Sorry I don't kiss marked alphas." She said smiling before she ran out the door,
"I'm gonna get you!" I smiled in a daze, she laughed between the door.
"You have a half an hour before you need to be outside. Be late and I'll kick your ass." She promised. I nodded aroused a bit, she winked before walking out, closing the door behind her.
That girl is gonna be the death of me.
I happily skipped out of his room to me and Georgie's room, feeling happier than I've ever felt in a year.
When I got to our room, Georgie wasn't present. I looked at the digital clock next to the bed and it read '6:20AM'
I put on some workout clothes and decided to go back to sleep for a bit.
When I woke up the clock read '8:00' I hissed going to my bags and taking out a pair of shoes before putting my hair in a bun to the back. I sprinted outside pissed because no one decided to get me up.
I headed to the backyard, more like football field and seen everyone standing around or playing with each other waiting for me I assume. I seen my family waiting around watching the pack and talking so I stomped over to Jax,
"How come you didn't come get me!" I yelled incredulously. He slowly looked at me with his green eyes,
"Lower your tone, you and Georgia are already skating on thin ice from yesterday." He said calmly not looking away from Martin. I glanced at Georgie and she bashfully shrugged. I inhaled and exhaled before opening my eyes,
"Dad? How come you never came to get me for training?" I asked sweetly.
"Well you were with your mate. So I let you work things out, you would come out when you were ready, like now." He said and I nodded in understanding even though I left him earlier.
I started to feel tingly and seen Mal in the crowd looking my way with a smile on his face. His brown hair was tousled every where and he was glistening in the morning sun, like a sexy God.
"Ready?" Dad asked, I nodded,
"EVERYBODY GET OVER HERE!" I yelled. People who were close covered their ears, and everyone stopped what they were doing and did as I said.
I looked over everyone and seen varieties of stereotypical like groups. The popular girls, nerds, jocks, and normal teenagers. I seen the kids playing so I gave Gin the signal and she rounded them up. Kim was trying her hardest to get next to Mal but was struggling in her heels. Who the hell where's heels to training?
She was wearing a pink half top, some skin tight tiny shorts, and her pink stilettos. I palmed my forehead,
"Kim!" I yelled, she stopped struggling and glared at me, that was her first mistake.
Moving at the speed of lightning I was in front of her knocking the wind out of her. She landed on her stomach wheezing.
Sitting up tall and scanning everyone I belted,"As your trainer if you step out of line, or glare at me I will knock you on your ass without a second thought. Don't be made an example of like your friend here"
Looking down I said,"Now Kimberly and the rest of you who thought it was smart to come to training in heels go change." Scurrying and struggling to get off the ground they ran inside to change.
I began to walk around the pack assessing them one by one, my siblings helped giving nothing away to the normal eye but I could see the disappointment in their eyes as they noted that majority of them were out of shape. I walked back to the front,
"Okay here's what we're gonna do. Each one of you will fight us, and after we'll put you in a group based on your fighting skills." I explained, I heard the jocks do their handshakes and I rolled my eyes.
"Get into five rows!" I yelled, I already knew who I wanted. I walked up to a jock,
"Come on you're first." I said choosing the cockiest of the bunch, walking back to a mat. He scoffed,
"I'm not about to hurt some little girl and have your family kick my ass." He said earning a few laughs from his friends. My pack laughed at him,
"He better stop." I heard Tyler mutter. I smiled before speaking to the jock again,
"You keep forgetting that I'm the trainer." I said and he nodded before stepping on to the mat with me but Mal grabbed my arm,
"Don't fight him. Let one of the others do it, I don't want you hurt." He pleaded but I gave him a reassuring smile before removing his hand from my arm.
I got in my fighting stance,"hit me." I said to him, he smirked before cracking his knuckles.
"Gladly." He charged at me and punched my face. I heard Mal growl and was on his way to charge at the jock but was restrained by the others.
"You're very weak for a jock." I said before he got angry and threw another punch my way but I caught it, I heard gasps come from the crowd. I examined his fist and he had a bruise on his pinky, he was punching all wrong.
"When you punch, use your middle knuckle or you'll break or bruise your other knuckles like you did here." I said showing him the bruise on his pinky. He looked at it and when he least expected it I hit him in the face with his own hand before round house kicking him in the head. He fell to the ground groaning,
"Always focus on your opponent." I said before helping him on his feet,
"Thanks. You've got moves little bit." He said and I chuckled before he walked away in pain, I faced the crowd again and it was Leila next. Her face was healed from her werewolf abilities,
She visibly gulped before stepping on to the mat hesitantly,"Jay I just want to say-"
"Now is not the time for that now hit me."
She looked shaken eyeing Georgie afraid she would attack her for attacking me. I whistled drawing her attention back to me getting in my fighting stance showing her I was ready.
"You weren't afraid back then so don't be afrai-" I heard muffling, I shook my head and focused back on Leila,
"Just hear me out-" I shook my head 'No' getting frustrated at the fact she wasn't focusing and I felt her getting frustrated with me for not listening.
"Leila speed it up already!" I heard Georgie yell growling back I stepped back because this battle was out of my hands now. I walked away and let Georgie step in,
Georgie smiled a bit getting in her stance, Leila charged at Georgie wildly. Smiling before let Leila get in one punch she then punched her in the stomach and picked her up and slammed her down on the mat.
"You need to think before you fight. Don't fight on anger with an opponent, especially one like me." Georgie said walking away showing professionalism.
I smiled at her as she began walking over until I heard clothes rip and Leilas gray wolf was standing there. She raised her paw and swiped at Georgie's back before I could grab Georgie and move her out the way Georgie yelled out in pain before collapsing, I felt Amaris come to the front.
I tried calming myself down but I felt my bones crack on their own accord.
"Jay no!" I heard Jax yell but it was too late. My big white wolf ran over to Leila, I bit her neck, and slammed her to the ground. I snarled ferociously in her face, digging my claws in her chest. She was whining and clawing at my stomach. I hopped off still standing in front of Georgie. Aileen her wolf tried getting to her but I wouldn't allow it.
Over my dead body.
I could feel the anger rolling off of my pack in waves but I stopped them from intervening I got this. I heard a another shred of clothes and an ugly brown wolf came out from the SilverMists pack. I didn't know who it was but they had me as their target. I turned around snarling as a warning making it stop in its tracks. Taking in my size and form it felt a bit unsure now.
Aileen moved hesitantly trying to test the waters.
"Georgie?" I linked her
"Yes?" She asked calmly,
"Are you okay?" I asked in concern
"Take a look next to you and find out."She said cleverly. I closed off my link and sure enough her big,white, and gold wolf was next to me. Her eyes were that piercing red that I love and she sent me a wolf grin. I grinned back before facing the two that want a fight so bad.
They looked even more unsure but they still held their ground and growled at us.
"Lets end this as clean as possible"
"They're gonna get killed out there." I heard Jax say but I never took my eyes off my opponent. They ran to us but we stood still waiting, when they were in front of us they jumped at our necks but we dodged it. I had the brown wolf and Georgie had Leila.
I swiped my paw at the ugly wolf, and left claw marks on its face. It whined but crouched again, I crouched down as well and we began fighting.
This wolf was blinded by jealousy and rage, it simply wasn't able to give up. I dodged the sharp claw coming my way and bit her neck. Not to hard to kill her but it was still firm enough to hurt and leave a warning. It began to whine and move around but I only growled and chomped harder. I was about to let go when I heard clothes rip and a ferocious, strong growl fill the air. It was enough to make me feel nervous.
I dropped the wolf in my mouth and turned my head. I seen a huge Midnight black wolf with black eyes standing in the middle of the field staring at me. He was so big, beautiful, and shiny. My wolf purred at the sight of him but he growled back before stalking towards us. I was getting nervous I didn't appreciate the look in it's eyes I backed away, he's bigger than me, speed and putting distance between us was my only options.
Amaris then pushed to the front no longer allowing me to move backwards. In fact she began to walk towards him! I tried with all my might to stop her, if she isn't gonna fight him then she'll get us killed but she broke through my restraints and ran full speed to him.
He also ran to us until we were in front of each other and his big body loomed over us. I was terrified, unexpectedly she nuzzled up against his chest. The big wolf purred back and laid his snout on my head. This can only mean one thing,
It's Malachi.
Amaris was so excited to see his wolf, she continued to purr and rub up against him and he did the same. When I looked back to the crowd I seen Georgie purring and rubbing up against Lucas. He is a white and brown wolf, pretty big but not bigger than Malachi. I was about to walk out of the hug but he growled in response. Damn it Amaris!
I don't know how long we were sitting there hugging each other but it was until the point Jax finished putting everyone in groups and dismissed training. I internally felt restless, I'm trying to be business like but everything is a messy emotional mess.
My stomach growled and I was tired. I began slowly walking out of his embrace but he noticed the slightest movement and growled before moving closer. Amaris noticed her slip in letting me get control and she pushed me to the back again.
It got to the point where I was whining and huffing. Amaris couldn't hold me anymore, he looked down at me with his big black eyes and whined as well. I rubbed against him reassuringly before he growled I felt a steering pain in my shoulder.
I whined out of shock and pain before a wave of pleasure washed over me. I backed away from him, swaying tripping over my paws. I focused hard enough until I could see an almost put together image of him and growled with as much animosity as I could muster but it was short lived when I fell to the ground and lights out.
