I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My big sister, friend, my everything is mates with my eldest brother! I can't be mad at her because she has no say so in this and I won't let her reject him for tormenting me. They're meant to be. I hugged her tighter letting her tears fall onto my shoulder and down my bare back.
"Jay" She sniffed "I'm so sorry." She sobbed into my shoulder. I know she feels like she betrayed me in some way but she didn't. I pulled her head back with my hands and stared at her,
"You have nothing to apologize for." I said softly as she sobbed,"You guys are meant to be. The moon goddess has her reasons, and you guys are meant for each other. Don't put him or yourself through what I went through okay?" I said and she nodded her head.
"Oh Jay I love you."She cried throwing her arms around my neck. I hugged her back,
"I love you too sister. I could never be mad at you." I said into her shoulder before pulling back."Now come on I'm hungry!" I yelled grabbing her hand and hopping out the bed but she stopped.
"Wait I wanna get fresh first." She said with a wink. I put my finger in my mouth and gagged. She giggled before disappearing into the bathroom.
I sat on the bed and put my hair in two low ponytails while waiting for her to get out of the shower. I sat patiently cross legged on our bed absentmindedly playing with my curls. My mind kept drifting to the time when he held me in his arms. The feel of his muscles, his scent delectable scent that cocooned me relaxing me instantly. The way he growled when he spoke to me, the way he looked at me.
I bit my lip and was brought out of my fantasy by Georgie snapping her fingers in my face,
"Hello earth to Jadah." She snapped and my eyes focused on her,"I've been calling your name for about five minutes and I can smell arousal on you." She said winking at me,"thinking about a certain alpha." She suggested winking. I scrunched my face up,
"No! Please I was thinking about the food that you're stopping me from eat." I said pushing her head out of my face. She fell on the bed hysterical.
"Y-you're su-ch a l-iar." She laughed and I busted out laughing too. When we were done I noticed Georgie was wearing the same thing as me but her black curly hair was in a high ponytail.
I looped our arms together before we walked downstairs and saw our pack. They were in the kitchen laughing together and eating our favorite. Chinese food. The SilverMist pack sat in the dining room watching in amusement.
We walked down the stairs before happily skipping over to them before we both propped ourselves on the counter.
"Did you guys save us any?" I asked throwing an empty rice carton at Tyler's head.
"Hey!" He yelled shocked. I laughed,
"Yeah we saved you guys some." Max said handing us some food.
"What would we do without you?"I asked picking up a fork and putting a piece of chicken and rice in my mouth. I moaned and threw my head back when it filled my mouth,
"Food is life." I groaned and they all chuckled,"Ain't that right Kendall?" I asked and he nodded with a mouth full of Chinese food.
I felt eyes piercing my skin, I ate a fork full of noddles before looking up. I saw Leila, Leo, Lucas, and Malachi staring at me well Lucas glanced at me before glancing back at his mate who was too busy playing with chop sticks. I smacked her shoulder and she turned to me with chop sticks in her nose.
"Ouch bitch!" She whined rubbing the spot where I hit her at.
"Language Georgie." Martin and Jax said at the same time. I giggled before nodding my head towards Lucas. She embarrassedly blew the chop sticks out her nose before smiling at him. I smiled at the sight until Georgie noticed Leila staring at her so she flipped her the bird. We all laughed.
Leila on the other hand jumped and looked away. Lucas nodded his head at me, I nodded back before returning back to my food. I knew Malachi was staring at me because I could feel it. I continued eating and watching Georgie stare at her mate like they were a movie when someone flicked the side of my head.
"Owww!" I groaned rubbing the side of my head. I turned and Glared at Max.
"Stop being a creep." He said and I stuck my tongue out at him,
"It's so cute. I used to daydream about my mate looking at me like that." I said sighing, Sam tapped my shoulder,
"Maybe he will. Lover boy over there hasn't stopped staring at you since you came in." He said picking up his food carton and eating. I glanced in Malachi's direction and sure enough he was. He was staring at me with so much love in his eyes I almost ran to him. I sent a small smile his way, he beamed the biggest smile my way.
I chuckled before continuing to eat my food until someone interrupted,
"What is this honey moon avenue?" Tyler asked disgustedly. Gin slapped his shoulder and he winced,
"Shut up! It's cute." She said poking out her lips before turning back to us with a big toothless smile. I smiled back at her,
"Thanks little sis." I winked at her.
I saw a bunch of kids running around and playing but one little girl with thick ponytails and brown eyes was by herself. I sat down my food and went to her.
"How come you're not playing with the other kids?" I asked kneeling down to her. She jumped frightened,
"I'm Jadah but you can call me Jay. What's your name?" I asked her, she blushed before speaking.
"I'm Kelsey." She said in a small voice. I smiled at her,
"Nice to meet you Kelsey. Now can you tell me why you're not playing with the other kids?" I asked softly and she looked down at the floor. I lifted her head up with my finger,
"Princesses don't lower their heads. Their crowns fall off." I said to her and she smiled at me. I heard 'Awws' from behind us and I blushed a bit. I stood up,
"Gin!" I called and she looked up from her food at me.
"Come here." I ushered and she hopped down from the counter, quietly and gracefully. She happily skipped over to us and when she noticed Kelsey she gave her a hug.
"Hi Kelsey!" She said smiling. Kelsey smiled back before wrapping her arms around her. When they pulled back I grabbed both of their hands.
"We're going over to those kids. Ginger, Kelseys a bit shy how about you two go introduce your selves if you were finished with your food?" I asked.
Gin rushed over pulling a helpless little Kelsey along. When I turned around and headed back to my table a lady in a maids outfit stopped me,
"Miss how did you do it?" She asked and I looked at her confused.
"You don't have to call me miss. Call me Jay or Jadah, and how did I do what?" I asked and she gave me a smile.
"Well Jadah how did you get Kelsey to talk to you?" She asked. What was this lady talking about?
"I just talked to her. How come you're asking?" I asked and she smiled.
"She doesn't talk to anyone but the Alpha and only then does she say a few words. Her parents were killed in front of her and she hasn't been right ever since." She explained sympathetically, we both looked at Kelsey who was playing with Ginger and the other kids. I smiled at her,
"She's a wonderful girl so sweet and nice." I said before turning and walking away but stopped when she called,
"Oh Jadah?" I hummed looking back at her,"You would make a lovely Luna." She said smiling at me. I froze seeing everyone out the corner of my eye freeze.
"Thanks." I said before walking away.
I felt everyone's gaze on me as I walked back over to where I was previously sitting on the counter. I continued eating my now cold food still feeling everyone's eyes on me. I looked up and saw everyone from his pack and mine staring. Malachi watched me with want in his eyes and I squirmed under his eyes.
"You guys I'm fine." I assured them. Georgie put her arms around my shoulder and pull me to her.
"She's damn straight you're gonna be an amazing Luna."She said and I rolled my eyes before smiling appreciating how much she's been my rock through all this.
"You still wanna stomp his balls?" She asked and I looked up at Malachi who immediately cupped his privates. I laughed before shaking my head,
"No but I'll take you up on that." I said turning to her. She laughed, I saw a figure come up to me and when I looked up it was Leila.
"Are you Leila?"Georgie asked, her eyes flashing from brown to red. Leila's tears dried up and then her eyes narrowed at her,
"Why?" Leila asked looking her up and down her eyes flashing from brown to Amber.
In that moment Georgie couldn't contain her rage and let out a furious growl before she punched Leila in the face like she promised and kicked her in the head. Leila fell to the ground and was about to get up but Georgie hopped on top of her and punched her face before grabbing her neck.
"Listen here bitch, I know all about what you did. After that shit you pulled you don't have the right to call her sister or try dropping those fake ass tears." Leila growled back her eyes were fully red. Leila growled back, her eyes a bright Amber color as she punched Georgie.
Jax is gonna kill us both.
I began tearing them off of each other grabbing Leilas wrist before she even fixed her hand to touch Georgie. Her head snapped back and I gave her that look before she let up. Georgie was grabbed by Lucas and I gave Leila to Leo.
Leila's nose was crooked, and she had a large black eyes. After calculating the damage of today our ass whipping was on a devastating level. I turned catching Jax's eyes flinching from the heat that seeped from him. He nodded his head at me and I cringed. He took Gin and he and the others went to their rooms.
Everyone dispersed except for me and Mal. We stood there holding each other's eyes before he broke the silence.
"Today's been an eventful day huh?" I rolled my eyes before nodding my head in agreement. I threw my head back dreading tomorrow,
"You okay? What's got you so worried?" He came closer assessing me.
"You'll see tomorrow" I rubbed my temple.
"Is this about Jax kicking your ass?" He asked alarmed,"Is he hurting you?"
I threw my head back laughing, people on the outside can't understand that concept either. The fact that we Knight children fight the alpha, gamma, and beta.
"No he is not hurting me" I calmed down smiling,"I'm fine I promise." I wiped away a tear,
He cracked a smile and I caught myself smiling back at him. His hand touched my hand and tingles danced up my arm. In that moment I wanted his lips on mine and I wanted to be in his arms.
"Ewwww get off my mate!" A voice screeched annoyingly. I rolled my eyes before retracting my hand but Malachi held me there.
"Kim, remove yourself." He left no room for protests.
She growled at me but I just smiled at her,
"Malachi get off that slut now!" Oh now she done it. In less than a second Kendall had her pinned up against the wall.
"I've just about had it with your annoying ass. Get out!" He yelled as he threw her out the room. She whimpered and ran out. I rolled my eyes before pulling my hand away and walking off. He groaned,
"Oh come on, just a little longer." He followed me.
Shaking my head "What have I told you?"I scolded.
"Only talk to you if it concerns the pack." He said through gritted teeth.
"That's right. You would have been able to hold me all you wanted but you rejected me. Now that you have who you wanted stay with her."I said feeling frustrated, his eyes held regret in them,
"I know what I did but I can't change that, I can only make better decisions now and going forward." He explained but I rolled my eyes,
"Whatever." I said waving my hand continuing my walk.
"Please Jay-"
I ignored him and kept walking.
"Please Jadah. I'm so sorry I regret it everyday." He said tears welling in his eyes but I exploded,
"Really you regret it!? You don't seem to regret marking that whore! Or sleeping with her, and putting me and my wolf through pain!" I yelled feeling my own tears come out, "You didn't seem to care when you watched your fucked up family kick my ass while YOU watched, or when you punched me in the face just to prove a fucking point! Or when you rejected me and put me through depression!" I yelled, the tears kept over flowing."You didn't even come look for me" I whispered.
"You think life has been easy? This year has been fucking hell! I lost you, my wolf, and my pack! Do you think I like what I did? No! I pay for it everyday! I have no one Jadah, no one! My family and your family went away after you left, leaving me on my own to care for this pack! I can't train or protect my pack! How do you think that makes me feel?! I have no one to comfort me or tell me it's alright! Kim was an impulsive decision to dig myself out of a hole I already put myself in Jadah you need to know that I'm hurting too." He said lowering his voice,"I need you Jadah my wolf needs you.Without you I feel like a deadman roaming the earth. I missed you more than anything while you were gone and now you're back and I don't want to lose you again."He pleaded, more tears coming down my eyes.
I want to give him a chance but I'm scared. He's still connected to Kim and the only way he can get rid of the mark is by marking me.
His true mate.
I don't think I'm ready for that.
I came out of my thoughts when Malachi wrapped his arms around my legs and laid his face on them,
"I need you Jay." He sobbed harder. I felt tears come out of my eyes before I backed away from him. He looked up at me with so much hurt before I kneeled down in front of him. I grabbed his face in my hands before speaking,
"I need you too Malachi." I said softly,"But you hurt me the most." His face dropped as tears silently streamed down his face,"I need time." I wanted to wrap my arms around him and seek comfort so bad but I stopped myself. Instead he wrapped his arms around me. I stiffened before I relaxed in his arms, letting my tears fall freely. I needed this. For the longest time I needed this, hell longed for it.
He squeezed me tighter afraid I might pull away before whispering,"I'm so sorry" In my ear.
"I hope you can forgive me for all the pain I've caused."
"I had to forgive you for myself and my wolf. I will never forget what you did but I would never hate you. We're destined to be together." I sighed laying my head on his shoulder.
"Are you sleeping with me?" He asked hopeful,
I was about to decline and go to Georgies room but I remembered she's with Lucas. I shook my head in disgust. Ew.
I rolled my eyes at those two before looking at Mal and nodding my head yes.
His face lit up like a kids on Christmas before he began to walk us up the stairs holding me close, it felt nice but I had legs.
"You know I can walk myself up the stairs."
He ignored me and kept walking, when we got to his room he skillfully opened the door before walking inside. I hopped out of his arms and walked to his bed ready to let my fatigue take over. His sheets smelt of me and him so I fell on his bed letting his scent dance around me.
His bed was like a black silky cloud. I ran my hands over the sheets before grabbing a pillow and getting ready to fall asleep.
I felt the bed dip before Mal pulled my back against his chest. Despite the comfort I moved forward and out of his grip. It's not gonna be that easy.
He chuckled scooting closer to me and pulling me closer."Night Jay."
