I wish I could start off by saying my life is all Peaches N' Cream but it's not. I'm Jadah Ryan daughter of Larry and Lauren Ryan; betas to the SilverMist pack, I have a wonderful family who I wouldn't trade for all the riches in the world. It consists of my mom, dad, my older brothers, and older sister.
All of my siblings names start with an "L" and I know that makes you wonder,
"Why does her name start with a 'J' ?"
Well, my mom always told me I looked like a Jadah; strong, with a fierce spirit but my mom was wrong. So complete, and utterly wrong.
I'm not like that at all. I'm timid, quiet, nervous, and shy. I can't even stand up for myself against the racist teens at my school! I mean you'd think that the Beta, a black man with power would mean they'd respect his daughter.
And they do don't get me wrong, just not this daughter.
My brothers and sister get royalty treatment: Respect, admiration, and kindness. I on the other hand get shoved. I know they can't always protect me from everyone and I have to learn to stand up for myself but I can't. I'm too scared. I hate confrontation. I'd rather get a couple of shoves, and, verbal assaults than actually grow a pair and have Kim, and her minions ruin me.
Our pack is pretty normal sized, around 50-100 members. Our Alpha is my dads bestfriend who tolerates me. He believes that I'm useless and too weak to be the betas daughter. Many people don't like me because I'm timid and "anti-Social" and truth be told: I talk, but no one makes the effort to get to know me. I go to school and pass all of my classes with A's just to go home, and be a loner all day. Hoping that at some point Chris Brown will come to my house, dance for me then take me away from this hell!

Rolling my eyes and growling I shut off my alarm. I sat up and stretched my stiff muscles, groaning when they popped. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes before trying to get up and go to the bathroom but my legs were tangled in the covers and I fell face first to the floor.
"Ow." I grunted. Then I heard my door open.
"Jadah?" My sisters voice filled my ears.
"Down here." I said getting up from the floor.
"Oh. False alarm! She just fell out of bed again!" My sisters loud voice bounced off the walls, making me cover my ears.
"Get out big mouth!" I sent daggers her way still holding my ears. She chuckled before closing the door. Ugh.
I trudged to the bathroom and flicked on the light. When I saw myself in the mirror I knew I slept good. My face had dried up slob on it, my hair had slipped out it's bonnet, and my face was ashy. I went to the shower and turned it to my desired temperature then stripped out of my t-shirt. When I hopped in I let the water loosen my stiff muscles, then washed my body with my honey and Jasmines body wash.
When I was done I wrapped myself in a towel, then went to the sink to wash my face, and brush my teeth. Putting my toothbrush away I caught a glimpse of myself. My brown eyes caught the light making them shine , my thick twists hung past my shoulders, and my brown skin glistened. Compared to the other girls in the pack I'm average. They have toned perfect bodies while I have...a body and wear baggy clothes to hide it.

I rolled my eyes and walked out to slip on my comfy cotton panties, some black baggy sweatpants, a black long sleeved shirt, and my black and white converse. I untwisted my hair and picked it out until it grew into a large Afro; I laid my edges and grabbed my stuff and ran downstairs.
My stomach rumbled at the smell of breakfast, my mom laughed before turning around.
"Take a seat i'm almost done." She pointed to a chair at the island with her spatula. I sat down waiting for my plate when I heard yelling, and heavy footsteps come down the steps.
"Shut up or I will end you, I'm the strongest!" Leila yelled,
"Puhhh-lease I will hurt you so bad your wolf won't even be able to heal you." Leo said causing Aileen her wolf to growl at him.
"Shut up you idiots before I push you both down the stairs." My oldest brother Lucas said with a promise. That made them both shut up. One thing about Lucas is that he never makes empty threats.
"Good morning mom," Lucas said kissing her cheek,"Good morning baby sis." He said kissing my forehead.
"Morning Luke, what was all the yelling about?" I asked motioning to Leila and Leo.
"Dumb and dumber here," He said motioning to Leila and Leo who rolled their eyes,"Were arguing over who's the strongest wolf, when we all know it's me." He said cockily flexing.
"After me." My fathers deep voice came from the entrance of the kitchen, making him jump. I chuckled before running to my dad.
"Good Morning daddy." I said giving him a big hug.
"Good morning baby girls." He planted kisses on both of our foreheads. I walked out of his embrace to go take a seat in front of my beautiful breakfast. I immediately dug in moaning when the yummy goodness exploded in my mouth, I came down from my high when my mothers voice rang through my ears.
"So honey, have you decided what you wanna do for your birthday?" My mother asked and I opened my eyes to look at her. Her dark skin contrasted beautifully with her brown locks that were pulled into a neat bun, and hazel eyes filled with mirth stared back at me waiting for an answer. My father is a big man with piercing blue eyes, a brown fade, and very noticeable muscles.
"Ummm no I haven't. I just wanna find my mate and eat food. That's all a girl could ask for." I said going back to eating my food. I'm 15 now and my birthday is in 2 days meaning I'll be 16. Every teenage wolf shifts and hopefully meets their mate at the age of 16. It's a big deal but since I have no friends to celebrate my big day with, i'll be alone until I meet my mate. He will hold me, protect me, and most of all love me. He will be able to take me away from this hell hole, I just can't wait.
"Honey how about Leila and your brothers invite some of their friends over to your party." My mom suggested, ignoring everything I just said. She said it like it was the best thing in the world, which it wasn't, because their friends don't like me.
"Sure." I shrugged still eating my breakfast.
"Jadah come on we're getting a ride from Malachi." Lucas said and dread instantly filled me. I didn't want to ride with him; Malachi is my crush and one of the many people that bully me. Also Lucas's best friend. How ironic is that?
"Ummmm I'll ride with Leila." I said and she nodded her head.
"Okay well I'll see you at school." As if on cue a car blew their horn.
"Bye y'all!" Lucas yelled before walking out.
"Okay come on Jadah lets get to school before we're late." Leila said swallowing the last bit of her orange juice.
"Okay, hold on." I said putting my dishes in the sink and giving my mom and dad a kiss on the cheek.
"Are you ready, big baby?" She asked and I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up." I said walking out the house to her red Chrysler. I hopped in, buckled up, then we were on our way.
When we pulled up to school I grabbed my book bag and looked around. I saw Kim and her minions leaning up against her silver Mercedes with Malachi and Lucas standing near her. Oh Malachi. He is so handsome; might I add the alphas son. His dreamy blue eyes remind me of the clearest waters that I could swim laps in all day, thick brown hair that I can only dream to run my fingers through, and big pink lips I could kiss all day. He's just perfect but he just has to be the Devils spawn.
After daydreaming about how perfectly handsome Malachi is, It dawned on me that I unfortunately have to walk past them to get into the school building. As I was walking past I made sure to hang my head, letting my big hair cover my face so they couldn't recognize me but of course the odds weren't in my favor and one of them noticed me.
"Look everyone it's fatass." I heard Kim's voice say, causing everyone to burst into fits of laughter. I looked over and saw Malachi laughing along with them, breaking my heart. So handsome but you laugh at my pain. I know I shouldn't be crying over what she says, but I can't help that I feel crappy especially when his pink lips that I dream about saying sweet things to me say the exact opposite. I can't wait until I find my mate and maybe just maybe he can kick Malachi's ass. I guess I was staring too long because next thing I know Malachi's yelling at me.
"What the fuck are you looking at?" He asked angrily,"My dad was right you are nothing but weak, useless, and a waste of air." He spat with disgust emphasizing each word. Tears were now pooling in my eyes but I used all of my strength not to let them fall biting my lip I sprinted into the school building letting their laughs grow faint. Where are my brothers and sister you might ask? They can't actually won't stand up to the future alpha and their friend.
I walked into the girls bathroom, washed my face and looked in the mirror. I wish I could just get something sharp and end it all but I can't. It's what they expect, it's what they want. I will not satisfy them by ending my life. I will fight and wait for my mate, and then we'll get the hell outta here.
I wiped my eyes and walked out the bathroom feeling happy because in 2 days I will be in the arms of my mate. Just that thought alone brightened my day. I walked to my locker with a pep in my step receiving some confused and amused looks making me laugh out loud. My laughs echoed through the gossip that filled hallways, people started to look at me like I was crazy. I felt on top of the world until I bumped into something hard or rather someone. I looked up and seen it was Lucas.
"What are you all smiley about?" He asked confused but a smile on his face.
"I get to meet my mate in 2 days!" I said happily clapping my hands, he laughed at my childish ways.
"I know but I'll kick his butt if he ever hurts you." He said serious and I raised my eyebrow. Why would my mate hurt me? He will love me.
"Lucas that won't be necessary, my mate will never hurt me. Only love and protect me." I said in a daze, picturing it all. It happened so fast, I was pushed hard into a wall. When I looked up the tall confident, blue eyed demon was looming over me. Malachi.
"Aye man don't do that to her." Lucas said seriously but Malachi scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Whatever she was in the way now come on Chads about to prank the teacher." Malachi said smiling, flashing his pearly whites at Lucas making my heart flutter but was short lived when he looked down at me in disgust.
"I feel bad for your mate. Why would he want a fat piece of waste like you? You're worth about as much as the gum on the bottom of my shoe." He seethed getting in my face, and that's how quickly my good mood ended. I then thought of my mate holding me and making me laugh, I smiled before getting up while dusting myself off.
"My mate will love me. It is I who should feel bad for your mate. That she'll be stuck with a big rude, conceited, childish unworthy soon to be alpha brat like you. Now excuse me I have to get to class." I said confidently holding my head up high before walking away leaving Malachi, and my brother dumbfounded. As I was walking I couldn't help but wonder where that powerful voice came from.
"It came from me." I stopped and looked around but when I didn't see anything I shrugged and kept walking.
"So you're just gonna ignore me?" There it goes again! Then I noticed no one is in the halls so did it come from me?
"No Jadah from me. Your wolf Amaris."
"OMG I HAVE A WOLF!" I screamed in my head, I could feel her lower her ears and whine.
"Sorry."I replied sheepishly,"So do I get to meet you on my birthday?"I asked hopeful.
"You've already met me. We are apart of each other, but I'll just tell you this. We are beautiful." She said proudly and I just got more excited
"So do you know who our mate is?" I asked hoping she'd say 'Yes'.
"No we are not fully developed yet. On your birthday is when we will know."
"Oh Amaris I love you already. You're the only friend I have and I promise to do right by you." I vowed.
"I love you as well Jadah, I will protect you as much as I can until our wolf develops." She said and I thanked her before running to my first bell with the biggest smile on my face.
"Jadah you're late. Come take a seat." Mr.Conler said pointing to my seat which was in the very back of the class in the corner.
I nodded and was headed to my seat when I heard snickering and everyone was facing me. I stopped, looking around at them raising my eyebrow in confusion. They stopped snickering but it was obvious they were holding back big stupid laughs. When I went to sit down, my chair collapsed underneath me, sending me crashing to the floor, causing the class to release hyena like laughs.
"Damn fatass you better start working out because soon it won't just be a chair." Kim sneered making the class laugh harder and Amaris growl.
"Just let me attack this bitch." She snarled barking.
"We can't Amaris, that'll make Malachi mad and I'll get punished." Reluctantly she calmed down occasionally growling.
"They hurt you." She said sadly growling at the end.
"It's okay, when we meet our mate he won't let anything happen to us. Him or his wolf so we just gotta hang on for 2 more days." I said to her and her mood instantly brightened. She was bouncing and running around in my head making me laugh.
After my little inner conversation with Amaris I looked up and found everyone staring at me like I had three heads. I stood up after dusting myself off and faced the teacher.
"Mr.Conler please give me my work I'm going home." I said gripping the ends of my sleeves. He gathered my work for the day and I walked out the class with one thing on my mind.
"I can't wait until my birthday."
