âI have something to say, but I donât know if I should say it,â Charles said.
âMr. Harris, you donât really trust me, do you?â
âYou can say that.â
Mr. Hughes kept quiet for a while before replying in a sincere tone, âMr. Harris, I can understand why you donât trust someone like me.
âWhy donât I first convince Leah to buy the 25 percent shares and have her sell it to someone else at a higher rate? After that, you can pay me what we have negotiated earlier.â
âMr. Hughes, youâre truly meant to do great things,â Charles replied.
âMr. Harris, youâre too kind. However, I might need some time because I doubt itâll be easy to find someone to take the shares,â Mr. Hughes said.
Charles cast one last glance at the hospital and put on his Bluetooth earphones before throwing his phone aside.
He started his car and drove into traffic. âYou donât need to worry about this, someone will take them when the time comes.â
After Sterling mentioned going to see Master Russell, Charles gave Fredrickson a call and told him about this plan.
One of them was scheming against Leah whereas the other was expressing his thanks toward Sterling. Since both of them had their own motives and the deal was beneficial for both parties, the two easily came to an agreement that worked for both of them.
The two continued discussing further details regarding the plan. Once they were almost done, Mr. Hughes said, âMr. Harris, is it possible to spare Leahâs life and give her a way out of this? She didnât actually harm Ms. Whiteâs life, after all.â
âI have never cut anyone off, but sheâs the one who walked herself into this dead end. Thereâs nothing I can do about it.â There was no hint of warmth in Charlesâ eyes when he said that.
One was setting up this trap for Leah, and the other thought of this as a token of appreciation and gratefulness to Sterling. Since both of them had their own motives and the deal was beneficial for both parties, they easily came to an agreement that worked for both of them.
âYes, Mr. Harris, I understand what you mean,â Mr. Hughes said.

In the hospital ward.
Sophia sat quietly for a while. All her thoughts were jumbled up in her head, and the more she pondered, the more troubled she felt.
Feeling that her head was beginning to hurt, she simply got out of bed and decided to go and see Dr. Hemingway.
If he had an empty slot, she could treat her leg at the same time.
However, the instant she opened the door, she was greeted by her sister-in-law.
âNicole?â Sophia exclaimed in surprise, âHow long have you been standing here? Why didnât you just come in?â
Nicoleâs eyes sparkled as she replied, âNot that long, I just came a while ago. I wasnât sure if Mr. Harris was still in your room, so I didnât dare to come in.â
Sophia stiffened up slightly upon hearing Charlesâ name. âNope, he left a while ago.â
âOh, I see,â Nicole said curtly. Then, the two of them fell into silence.
With so many thoughts already in her head, Sophia did not want to discuss this matter at the moment.
Just as she was about to say that she was going to see Dr. Hemingway, Nicole spoke first, âSoph, is your relationship with Mr. Harris stable now?â
âNicole, Iâve already missed a few days of my physical therapy, and Dr. Hemingway asked that I drop by to see him today.â Sophia averted her gaze.
As sensible as she was, Nicole did not push her. Instead, she said, âLet me come along in case you bump into those reporters again.â
Sophia did not argue and nodded in agreement.
The two of them then set off to Dr. Hemingwayâs office, but unfortunately, he was not in. There was, however, a nurse and that female student from the dance department who admired him very much.
âHello, this is my third time seeing you now, is that right?â Ms. Florence greeted Sophia awkwardly.
Sophia nodded. âYeap, what a coincidence.â
She had things on her mind now, and besides, she usually did not enjoy small talk with strangers. As such, she did not say anything more.
Ms. Florence, on the other hand, seemed to be quite intrigued by her, but seeing the lack of interest on her face, Ms. Florence did not try to start another conversation.

ï¤Chapter 358 Disregarding The Lives Of Humans âDr. Hemingway seems nice,â Nicole said suddenly, âAnd heâs quite outstanding in various aspects as well.â
Ms. Florence smiled and took over the conversation. âYes, thatâs why many people are willing to make an appointment with Dr. Hemingway even if itâs just to see him.â
As soon as the words came out of her mouth, Victor came into the room.
