Barely half an hour later, Leah and Sophiaâs trial results were all over the news.

Netizens all across the internet were shocked at the jaw-dropping turnaround.
âD*mn, even TV dramas donât do it like this, right? Leah was eighteen years old two years ago and fifteen years old five years ago, can you imagine how conniving this girl is? Itâs terrifying!â
âI was so scared I just told my girlfriends to be merciful with me! They can have all the men they want whoever they are, I just want my life! (fear.jpg)â
âHow awkward... I was just calling Sophia a dirty mistress when the news came on earlier. I was so angry I wasnât able to sleep the entire night but turns out Leahâs the mistress! I just want to apologize to Sophia...â
âThe people living one floor above me were so angry they couldnât sleep the entire night, itâs hilarious! Really though, there are too many people doing stupid things for love. To be fair, Leah did come up with a believable cover story, and in addition to all the misdirecting news, all of us couldnât help but turn against Sophia. We shouldnât be blamed for having a low IQ, itâs just that we donât know the specifics because we arenât directly involved in this incident!â
âLeah, you b*tch, how can you plot against your best friend! You deserve to die!â
âTwo million is merely money for another convertible to Sophia, how can they exchange that for the mental distress she suffered in prison for two whole years! Oh, that poor girl!â
Just as the news continued to spread, Sophia and her parents had arrived at a quiet bubble tea shop. Before this, she had asked Charles to leave first.
She did not want anyone to interfere with the disputes within her family.
Her brother had wanted to come over but she wanted to talk to her parents properly. She was worried that he would intervene and interrupt their talk, and so she had her sister-in-law bring him away.
âSoph, I really didnât... didnât expect Leah to do something so... so crazy...â The moment Jenny began talking, the tears came rolling down her cheeks once again. âItâs all my fault, I shouldnât have... lost faith in you...â
Sophia pulled out a piece of tissue paper and handed it to Jenny. âHere, wipe your tears away,â she said with a deep sigh.
âSoph, I...â Jenny accepted the tissue and brought it up to wipe away the tears in her eyes. The tissue paper was soon completely soaked. âYou must have... You must have been upset that I didnât believe you before this, you... Can you give me another chance... please... Please...â
Towards the end, Jenny was sobbing so hard her words were incoherent.
Sophia took out a few more pieces of tissues and passed it to her mother. She felt helpless and her heart ached with pain. Although she was overwhelmed with the mixed emotions in her head, her decision never changed.
Call her harsh or ruthless but after the way her parents treated her when the car accident happened, she was never going back to the White Family ever again.
âSoph, please give your mother a chance. Nobody is perfect in this world and weâre bound to make mistakes. Your mother was pregnant with you for ten months and she raised you to be the young lady that you are today, you canât dismiss her just because of a small matter like this, right?â James said.
Sophia sneered sarcastically.
âWhat do you mean... a small matter?â Jenny bunched up the tissue paper and threw it into the waste bin under the table before standing up. She slammed the table and cried out, âMr. White, I blame myself for being stupid enough to believe the games those people were playing, but how could you let her be treated unjustly when you knew about it?â
âShe...â At this point, her tears resurfaced once again. âSheâs your biological daughter... Your daughter, for goodness sake! Youâre her father! How can you be so cruel to her?â
Jennyâs outburst was loud, and the people sitting around the bubble tea shop could not help but turn to look in her direction.
When everyone recognized them, some began whispering to each other.
âIsnât that Sophia White? Did you hear what her mother said, does that mean her father was in on the scheme too?â
âSheâs such a poor thing. Having your best friend plotting against you is one thing, but to be set up by your own father? Thatâs even worse! Though, I remember her father runs a non-profit charity organization or something, how can a person like that purposely frame his own daughter?â
Although they kept their voices down, the bubble tea shop was not exactly big. Moreover, it was off-peak hours now so the shop was quieter than usual. From where Sophia and her parents were sitting, they did not have to try to hear what the others were saying.
The people who were gossiping about them seemed to realize this as well, and they quickly flashed Sophia a seemingly embarrassed smile before leaving the shop with their unfinished drinks.
Jamesâs handsome face had flared red in anger and it took him a long while to recompose himself.
He gently tugged on Jennyâs wrist and muttered, âI donât mind embarrassing myself when you shout it out like that but donât forget that Soph is here as well. Arenât you afraid of embarrassing her?â
Jenny glanced at Sophia hesitantly.
âIâm already used to being talked about in these past two years and I have had plenty of people who called me a murderer in my face. Mr. White, you did that once yourself too, right?â Sophia said, âI lost my dignity a long time ago so frankly, I donât really care.â
A horrendous scowl broke across Jamesâs but he resisted the urge to lash out at her. âYou donât have to care but it hurts your father.â
âYou can talk all you want and however you like with your mouth. Mr. White, youâre truly outstanding!â Sophia scoffed lightly as she continued, âI see that you have developed more than exceptional skills along with your age, you have grown a really thick skin too!â
She turned around and pointed to the sun outside the window. âIf I ask you to convince me that the sun rises from the west, you can say it to my face without even blinking, right?â
âSophia White!â James could no longer hold in the anger and growled loudly.
Jenny glared at him through her weepy eyes. âWhat are you shouting for! You purposely played along as Soph was falsely accused of a crime she didnât commit and you didnât tell me the truth, and now you... Do you think you have the right to lecture her? James White, are you ashamed of yourself?â
âIâm trying to talk to Sophia here but look at her attitude!â Jamesâs expression was dark as he continued, âBoth of you mother and daughter are getting more and more unreasonable!â
Jenny had always been obedient and sensible before this, but now Sophia had influenced her to become a crazy shrew!
âIâm unreasonable?â Jenny pointed at herself incredulously as she screeched, her voice so high it almost broke. âJames White, can you put your hand over your heart and ask your conscience if you have the right to say that to me?â
James was slowly losing his temper as well, his entire face all the way to his neck turning a bright shade of red. âI donât have the right? Jenny Fisher, ever since the moment I married you, have I done anything that wasnât out of consideration for both of us as husband and wife?â

ï¤Chapter 256 Can You Stop Calling Her A Murderer âEver since I took over Jones Group and we had Sophia and Sterling, have I done anything that wasnât for the sake of Jones Group and this family?
Sophia made a mistake and I had to do my part and protect the company as well as our family, so was I wrong to kick her out of the Jones Family?â
âEverything I do is for this family, yet each of you still point your fingers at me and blame me for everything! If it wasnât for me, how would you have been able to live a life of luxury and wealth all these years?â
âIf it wasnât for my decision and I hadnât kicked Sophia out of the Jones Family, would Jones Group be able to achieve the success the group has today? No, itâs impossible! Maybe the company wouldnât go bankrupt, but it wouldnât do so well either with Charles putting pressure on us!!!â
James finally vented out all the anger and frustrations accumulated in his chest. Then, he took his cup of milk tea and downed half of it.
