Sophiaâs mouth was half open as she watched this. Every word she next said was squeezed out from her throat, âHeâs your own grandson!â
âWatch him, just make sure he doesnât die!â Master Harris instructed Ken.
He impatiently ordered the other two people with him, âBring Sophia and go with me to the hospital now!â
âYes, Master Harris,â the two men replied and caught hold of Sophia on each side of her arms. They then proceeded to drag her out.
Sophia did not struggle. All she did was turn back to look at Charles with a pale look on her face.
He fell to the ground. There was blood all over him and the floor. There were even a few glass shards sticking out from his legs. He stood up with great difficulty and looked Sophia straight in the eye. His face was bloodied, but his eyes were bright.
Sophia felt a sharp pang in her heart as she opened her mouth to say something to him, but no words came out.
âDonât be afraid, Iâm here,â Charles mouthed to her and smiled. He looked a complete mess, but his smile dimmed everything else around that was happening.
Sophia suddenly felt a sob coming, and she frowned. She turned away from him and said to Master Harris who was walking next to her, âIf you want me to head to the hospital for a check-up, you should bring Charles...â
âToo noisy,â Master Harris said grimly. He took out a handkerchief and handed it to the man at the side.
The man took the handkerchief and stuffed it into Sophiaâs mouth expertly.
Charlesâ eyes darkened at this, and a vicious look crossed his eyes. He moved forward in response but was forced to step back while clenching his fists when Ken gave him a warning look.
Sophiaâs cheeks were hurting slightly because of the handkerchief being stuffed into her mouth. Sweat was quickly forming on her forehead.
However, she tried to force back the pain and not struggle.
Master Harris was capable of treating Charles so cruelly even though Charles was his grandson. It would be worse if it was an outsider like her!
The two men pushed Sophia into the car after opening the door. Then, they both turned to look at Master Harris.
âBoth of you take the front seats,â Master Harris instructed and got into the car, sitting next to Sophia. The two men proceeded to get into the driver and passenger seats before starting the car.
Sophia sat with her knees closed together and placed her hands on each of her knees. She did not touch the handkerchief stuffed in her mouth.
The image of Charlesâ bloodied face flashed in her mind. She frowned and gripped her pants so tightly that her knuckles went a little white.
Sophia looked even more upset when she realized she might be worried about Charles. Wait, that was not right. She was not worried about him, she just did not want to owe him anything!
Besides, she could not even protect herself right now. If she wanted to worry about someone, it should be herself!
âTake out the handkerchief,â Master Harris ordered coldly.
Sophia took out the handkerchief from her mouth and held it in a ball within her palms. She fiddled with it unconsciously, the sweat on her palms wiping onto the handkerchief.
âAre you scared about the check-up at the hospital?â Master Harris turned his head to her, staring at her with sharp, eagle-like eyes.
Sophiaâs entire body stiffened as her palms started sweating all over again. âOf course, Iâm scared.â
Master Harrisâ face fell darker. It looked like a storm was brewing.
âAre you using this check-up as an excuse to abort the child in me since you dislike Charles so much?â Sophiaâs voice was trembling, and there was no color on her face.
She was worried about the child being aborted. This could explain why she felt so afraid.
Master Harris stared straight at her as he sneered. âNo!â
Sophia had no idea what he meant by it. All she felt was a chill going down her back.
Master Harris scoffed. âStop playing your smart little games, Sophia! When we get to the hospital for the check-up, Iâll find out for sure whether or not youâre afraid because of your fake pregnancy!â
Sophiaâs eyelashes trembled as every hair on her body stood on its end. âI might lie to you, but what about Mr. Philips? Why would he lie to you?â
âWho knows?â Master Harrisâ eyes never left her.
Sophia wanted to look away because of his staring, but in the end, she forced herself not to.
âYouâre pretty daring to pierce someone in the temple with your earring! Werenât you afraid of anything happening to the child when you were doing something like that?â Master Harris said with a subtle smile.
Sophia licked her dry lips and replied half-truthfully, âI was in the East Suburb Prison for two years. I know what itâs like being in there. If I had to return, the child would never survive. Iâd rather take a gamble and fight back rather than choose a route where there is no definite return.â
She had done her best in trying to calm down her nerves, but she was still extremely nervous as her voice trembled when she spoke.
Master Harris grunted. There was no way of telling what he meant or if he had believed her.
They had nothing else to say for the rest of the journey.
Sophia was tense physically and mentally. She turned to look out the window and glanced at the time on her phone once in a while. She felt that quite some time had passed, but her phone indicated it had only been less than ten minutes.
She moved a little uncomfortably, sticking close to the car window. Every minute and every second felt like torture when seated next to Master Harris.
At the same time, she hoped time would pass as slowly as possible. This way, she could try her best to create a delay and figure out a way to handle Master Harris.
However, what needed to happen would eventually happen. The Land Rover finally stopped at the hospital entrance.
âCome down!â Master Harris got out of the car first and coldly ordered Sophia.
When he looked at her, every cell in Sophiaâs body was in an extremely nerve-wracking condition. Any minor pressure coming from outside at that point would have caused her to break down.
She tried her best to smile and wiped her sweaty palms on her clothes. She got out of the car weakly.
âIf you donât like this child and youâre worried about it fighting for the Harris family inheritance, I wonât want a cent from you. All I ask is for you not to hurt this child,â Sophia said.
Master Harris glared coldly at her and grunted rudely. âLetâs see if you even have a child! We can leave other matters for a later time!â
With that, he started walking into the hospital.
The two men stood on each side of Sophia, waiting for her to walk.
Sophia took a deep breath and pressed her lips together. She walked slowly behind Master Harris while the two men stuck closely to her sides.
Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!
ï¤Chapter 244 He Ended Up Following Me Everywhere It was quite late at night, but there were still many people moving about in the hospital.
Sophie realized the hospitalâs higher management, which was led by Madam Hemingway, was already waiting at the side when she walked in behind Master Harris. Everyone was looking their way.
âMaster Harris, everything has been prepared,â Madam Hemingway welcomed him without looking at Sophia. It was as if they did not know each other.
Sophia wanted to greet her but stopped forcing a smile when she saw this. All Sophia did was stand behind Master Harris with her head held low.
It was almost impossible to deceive Master Harris when the situation had blown up to this proportion!
If Master Harris found out she was not pregnant...
She swallowed her saliva. Her breathing became much heavier than usual.
