Chapter 167 of 493

Chapter 170

"Why didn’t you come in when you were already at the door?" William hung up the call. There was an undisguised affection intermixed in his amber-

colored eyes. "If Leah hadn't called me and told me that you were standing outside, I wouldn't have even known."

Sophia wore a coat on top of the erotic underwear but still felt terribly uncomfortable. She tugged at her lips but could not bring herself to smile.

If Leah knew that she had not entered William's room, then she, Ryleigh, and Elaine must be watching with a pair of binoculars across the building!

If she left now, then they would accuse her of 'not being able to handle it'!

"What are you thinking about? How are you daydreaming in the middle of a conversation." William leaned forward slightly and stretched out his left hand to sway it in front of her face.

"Huh?" Sophia snapped back to her senses and realized that his good-looking face was extremely near to hers. The intense emotion in his eyes could almost melt her away.

She backed up two steps hastily and pulled a distance between them. "What did you just say?"

"Why didn’t you go in when you were already at the door?" William's eyes darkened slightly when she evaded him. He leaned against the wall and said, "You’re getting engaged to Mr. Harris tomorrow, so you don’t even dare to come in contact with the opposite sex lest Mr. Harris gets jealous?”

There were two things that Sophia hated the most in the past 18 years of her life: someone bad-mouthing Charles and someone saying that she dared not do something.

"No!" She harrumphed angrily, saying, "This has nothing to do with Charles!"

William's pupils reflected her slightly chubby cheeks. A doting look overflowed the depths of his eyes. "Why didn’t you go in then?"

Sophia did not want others to accuse her of being someone who could not even handle a game, but at the same time, she did not want to toy with someone else’s feelings. In the end, she came up with a brilliant idea.

She looked at him and coughed slightly, then raised her chin and said, "I'm playing truth or dare with Leah and the girls. I lost, so Leah suggested that I give you a hug while wearing a pair of erotic underwear. William, let me make it very clear, I’ve always thought of you as my big brother, so I’m definitely not here to seduce you. Don’t think too much!"

"You’d be so much more lovable had you not added the last sentence." William rubbed the top of her head and said helplessly, "You don’t give me even the slightest leeway, do you?"

Sophia smacked his hand away and said with an intense dislike, "It will be good for the both of us to cut the Gordian knot! I only have this much space in my heart and it is all occupied by Charles. There’s no more space for you!”

"You have said this many times, so you really don't need to say it again to trigger me." William rubbed the area between his eyebrows and said, "Aren’t you girls going a little too far with your games!"

"Do you think I want this to happen? Leah was the one who suggested this. I even made her angry because of this!" Talking about this dampened Sophia’s spirits.

William let out a self-deprecating laugh. "Since you’re already here, you can just go back and tell Leah and the girls that you've hugged me. Don’t go inside because I’m afraid that a hot-blooded young man like me won’t be able to control myself in front of my crush.”

"... I'm about to get engaged. Don't say things like that next time because it won’t be good for the both of us." Sophia rolled her eyes. "I’m dying to head back straight away, but Leah and the girls are watching across the room with their binoculars.”

William, "..."

“Come in, then." William opened the door and closed it after she entered. He then glanced at the room in the opposite direction. "I don’t see anyone."

"How can you be so blind with those huge and beautiful eyes of yours?" Sophia walked up to him and pointed to a room in the opposite direction.

"Three... two heads, do you see it?"

It seemed like Leah was not there. Heavens knew where she went.

William, "..."

"Can we close the curtain? They won't be able to see it, then. You can just go back and tell them that you’ve hugged me," William said.

"They will accuse me of not keeping my words if I do that." Sophia was terribly annoyed by this. "Why don’t we do this. Later, you look down at the ground, don’t ever look at me. I’ll wrap my arms around your neck and give you a quick hug... Let’s go with this plan. Don’t touch me, okay!"

William smiled after hearing what she said. "So you are allowed to touch me, but I am not allowed to touch you? You’re too high-handed, don’t you think?"

Sophia's eyes widened.

"You're about to get engaged. I don’t think it’s too much for me to give you a hug, right?" William pulled her into his arms after saying those words, then unbuttoned her coat and threw it to the ground.

He gave her a virtual hug, so his body was not in direct contact with her skin, but the faint smell of soap from her body still sent his heart racing.

Sophia had just made a unilateral agreement with him by asking him to look at the ground instead of at her, but he still could not help but dart a quick glance at her.

He did not actually see anything as it all happened too fast. He was also slightly guilty and self-critical of himself. There was only one impression in his mind: immensely fair.

William was so fast that Sophia was stunned for a moment. After half a minute, she snapped back to her senses and quickly pushed him away to pick up the coat on the ground.

After putting on her coat, she looked at the room in the opposite direction. She did not know what had happened earlier, but she could sense that someone was watching her with a hostile gaze from across the room.

Nevertheless, she did not see anyone on the other side when she looked over. She only saw the curtains flowing in the room when the autumn breeze blew.

Sophia turned her head again and glanced at the room in the opposite direction slightly toward the south. Ryleigh and Elaine were still looking through their binoculars.

She might have sensed it wrongly earlier. No one was looking at her in the opposite room. Ryleigh and Elaine were the only ones looking at her the whole time.

"What's the matter?" William asked when he noticed that she had been staring in the opposite direction for so long without making a sound.

"Nothing." Sophia looked at him with a frown and snugged the coat tighter. "People are calling you a man of integrity, but you’re just a pervert like everybody else!"

He was not to be blamed for this, though. If she had not played this game with Leah and the girls, then they would not even have to do this.

She felt extremely frustrated but was also in the wrong. In the end, she harrumphed at him, opened the door, and left.

The east side of the corridor were windows, whereas the west side were walls. Usually, Sophia would look at the scenery below when she walked along the corridor, but she was not in the mood to do that today. She did not look down, hence missing out on Charles’ departing back.

Sophia rubbed the sore spot in the middle of her brows and snapped herself out of her trance forcefully.

Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!

Chapter 169 Who Says I Can’t Handle It?

No wonder Leah could pull out a set of erotic underwear so quickly that day. It had all been a set up from the get-go. Now that she thought about it, Leah had dug plenty of holes for her in those two years when they were friends...

She had finally seen Leah’s true colors now and was always on the alert against her. She must admit, though, that Leah and Charles were people of the same mind. Even when she had taken precautions, she still could not compare to Leah.

Sophia rolled over in bed. As she was too weak and mentally exhausted, she closed her eyes and fell asleep very quickly.

When she woke up again, it was because of the knocks on the door.

"Soph? Are you inside, Soph?!"

It was Nicole.
