Chapter 132 of 493

Chapter 135

Sterling was worried that Nicole would hurt her leg and dragged her behind him in a hurry. "You don't have to do rough work like that." Having said that, he yelled at the receptionists impatiently, "Where are they? Have they gone to the sky to get them?"

"Why are you so angry, Mr. White?" Manager Jim went downstairs with a pale face and smiled at Sterling. "Hurry up and drink a cup of tea to put out the fire."

Sterling looked straight at Manager Jim and sneered.

"Lil Square, hurry up and bring Mr. White a cup of tea!" Manager Jim was having goosebumps under his stare. He could barely maintain the smile on his face anymore.

Lil Square, the employee whom he had just ordered, responded and went to serve the tea. However, before the tea could be served—

Bang!

Sterling kicked Manager Jim and sent him crashing the ground. He stepped forward, squatted down, and seized his hair before saying viciously, "Are you the f*cking guy who asked Soph to clean up the rooftop alone?!"

Manager Jim fell on his back, losing his glasses as he did. He fumbled for a long time before finally grabbing them. Unfortunately, it was impossible to wear them anymore as he had crushed his own glasses.

He squinted at Sterling. The cold sweat on his forehead flowed out like a broken tap. "Yes, I was the one who sent her there. What's the matter?

She’s Dream Club’s employee anyway. As the manager, it is only right and natural for me to assign her to complete some tasks..."

"F*ck!" Sterling cursed, slamming his fist into his face viciously.

Manager Jim’s left cheek swelled up immediately. He covered his face with his hands and contracted his neck. He could not even speak clearly because of his injury. “What exactly happened? If you want me dead, I have to die knowing the reason!”

"You nearly killed my sister and you still have the cheek to act innocent in front of me?!" Sterling seized Manager Jim by the collar using both hands and lifted him up, squeezing every word out from the gaps between his teeth.

Manager Jim was astonished. Blood was completely drained from his face. His back was instantly soaked with cold sweat. He shrank his neck and said in a hurry, "You can’t put all the blame on me! I’m just an employee doing my job according to what my superiors want. I don’t know what happened either!"

"I’ve also explained it to Ms... Ms. White. She said that she could understand and also said that she wouldn’t blame me! Mr. White, I really don’t know what happened!"

He was already sobbing when he got to the end of the sentence.

When he asked Sophia to clean the rooftop all by herself, he made sure to be extremely careful with his words and paved a way out for himself lest he was blamed for it when something went wrong!

Who knew that Mr. White would be so unreasonable!

The crowd burst out laughing. There were those who were jeering as well, watching the fun as though things were not serious enough.

Usually, Dream Club’s employees would intervene. If they could not handle it, then they would get Marie or Charles to come over. Today, however, they received instructions to do what they needed to do and pretend as though they did not see Manager Jim getting beat up.

Manager Jim’s initial intention was to push the responsibility to his superiors so that Sterling would go to Marie or Charles to deal with them and let a mere worker like him go.

Though when Sterling heard what he said, he was infuriated even more. He kicked him several times. "You’re trying to scare me off using that Harris guy? Do you f*cking think that I will be afraid of him?!"

Manager Jim curled up and begged for mercy, tears streaming down his face, but it was useless.

Sterling finally stopped when he was exhausted. He grabbed Manager Jim by the collar, picked him up, and asked whilst gnawing his teeth, "You sent Soph to clean up the rooftop alone and Tiffany just so happened to lock the rooftop door. Both of you were colluding, weren’t you?!"

The crowd sighed. Sterling was well-known for being a crazy demon who was overly-protective of his sister. Now, Manager Jim had sent someone to lock Sophia on the rooftop. No wonder Sterling looked as though he had gone mad at the moment and even landed vicious blows on him.

"Lock... Lock the door?!" There was torrential rain last night. If she was locked on the rooftop, something terrible was bound to happen! Manager Jim was so struck with terror that he was soaked in cold sweats. He said in a haste, "I don’t know anything about this. I received orders from the higher-

ups to assign Sophia to c-clean the rooftop. I-I really have no idea that the door was locked. Mr. White, you c-can't take your anger out on me!"

As he spoke, he was so terrified that he peed his pants. Soon, the lobby reeked of urine.

Sterling frowned and threw Manager Jim to the ground and took several steps back. The crowd of onlookers went like clockwork and backed up a few steps as well. Many of them covered their noses.

"You received orders from the higher-ups?" At this moment, a tender and lingering female voice was heard. Her voice moved the hearts of many men on the scene.

Marie sauntered over in an elegant and supple manner, saying lazily, "You’ve given me a pretty big bag to hold."

When Manager Jim saw her, his face alternated between red, blue, and white, looking like a color palette that had been tipped over. His body was shaking like a sieve. He stuttered and uttered the words “I-I-I-I” for a very long time yet was still unable to utter a complete sentence.

"F*ck!" Sterling spat on the ground, his face awfully grim.

At first, he thought that the hidden camera and drugs had angered Charles and that was why Charles decided to teach Soph a lesson by plotting out the rooftop incident. Never would he have expected that this was all just the manager’s one-man show!

Manager Jim noticed the viciousness in his eyes, and his limbs turned to jelly. He squinted his eyes and begged for mercy. "Mr... Mr. White, I really have nothing to do with the door getting locked. It's Tiff... Tiffany did it all by herself. It was also her idea... to send Sophia to clean up the rooftop. I have nothing...” “To do with this!’

Anger was flowing in Sterling's veins. It was about to explode in him and burst out of him. He did not have the patience to listen to Manager Jim's explanation. He picked up a small vase not far away and smashed it on Manager Jim's head.

Blood spattered all over the place, but it was not enough to kill him.

Manager Jim laid on the ground covering his head with his hands, screaming in pain.

"You two, come here. Throw him out and make sure he gets wet in the rain! Send him to the hospital when he’s about to die. Just make sure that he doesn’t die!" Sterling pointed at the two male staff members and said viciously.

The two waiters did not move. They turned to look at Marie subconsciously. When they saw her nodding, they each took Manager Jim by an arm and dragged him out.

Sterling glanced at the trail of blood on the ground with a blank look on his face before scanning his eyes around. He squeezed out a sentence from his throat with scarlet eyes. "Where is Tiffany Lawrence?!”

Charles went back and changed his clothes. Every cell in his body was screaming in exhaustion, yet he did not feel like sleeping at all.

Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around!

Chapter 134 Don’t Worry, I Won’t Die His head was a mess. The scene of Sophia following him around like sticky candy, how she bent and scraped to curry favor with others after she was released from prison, the words that his mother, Marie, and Zachary said to persuade him all jumbled up together, twisting and turning his heart upside down.

"Sophia begged to die. I called 120, but she begged me, asking me to tell the ambulance not to come over anymore."

The female employee’s words rang out clearly in his ears. Every word she said was like the sharpest knife in the world, thrusting into his heart over and over again as blood gurgled out.

His chest was so uncomfortably stifled that he was almost unable to breathe. Charles clenched his right hand and hammered his heart a few times to no avail.

Beep.

All of a sudden, his mobile phone started vibrating.

Charles answered the phone and heard the man on the other end saying, "Mr. Harris, I have arrived at the coffee shop you said. I have also followed your orders and sorted out the clues investigated over the last two years."

"Okay, I will go over immediately." Charles' Adam's apple rolled a little. A dark tide was surging in his eyes.
