The servantâs words were self-contradicting. It was obvious she was lying.
However, Charles frowned. He was worried that the drunk Sophia might really be in the opposite room. So, he walked to the window and pulled open the curtains.
What he saw was a French window. Sophia was in front of the window, and she was dressed provocatively. Her breasts looked like they were about to escape from their confinements. Her skirt barely covered her perky butt. She was tiptoeing with her arms around Williamâs neck. She was whispering something in his ear.
Her back was facing Charles while William looked at her with his head lowered. His attention was on her. The two of them did not notice Charles standing in front of the window.
Charlesâ expression did not change. However, his knuckles turned white from clutching the ring boxes tightly. His eyes were dark.
He did not know why he was still standing there. Perhaps, he was still wishful.
However, when he saw Sophia acting boldly and was obviously flirting with William, his breathing became heavier. He closed the curtains and turned around to walk away.
âIâm sorry, Mr. Harris. You canât leave now. Miss Leah said you can only leave if sheâs here.â The servant blocked Mr. Harris bravely.
Charles looked down at the servant. A storm was brewing in his dark eyes. âGet lost!â
âMr. Harris, this is Miss Leahâs orders. She asked me to stop you. Please forgive...â The servant was still trying to block him. However, before she could finish, Charles pushed her away.
Charles strode to the door and walked out.
The servant was stomping her legs from frustration. She followed behind him. âMr. Harris! Mr. Harris, please wait. Miss Leah will be here soon!â
âMr. Harris, slow down!
Charles did not stop walking no matter how much she screamed behind him.
Fortunately, when the two of them got to the stairs, Leah appeared.
The servant let out a sigh of relief. She said timidly, âMiss Leah, Mr. Harris insists on leaving. I canât stop him.â
âItâs fine. Youâre not needed here anymore. You may go now,â Leah said to the servant and pulled on Charlesâ sleeves. She asked softly, âDid you see it?â
Charles was agitated. He loosened his tie and did not answer Leahâs question. âYou said Sophia was drunk and you fooled me to come here. You found someone who looks like her to purposely act this out for me?â
âI admit that I lied to you about her being drunk. But if I were to tell you directly that Sophia is entangled with my brother and that I want you here to catch them in the act, would you have come?â Leah bit her lip. She looked wronged and helpless.
Charles scoffed. He did not say anything, which meant that he agreed tacitly.
He did not have a good impression on the Jones.
âHowever, youâre wrongfully accusing me if you say that I purposely found someone who looks like Sophia to act this out for you.â Leahâs eyes were red. âI am Sophiaâs best friend. Plus, sheâs having an affair with my brother. Why would I just wrongfully accuse them with no proof?â
She lifted her head to look at him. There was moisture in her eyes. âPlus, youâve known Sophia for so many years. You should know if that person is Sophia or not.â
It was as if a million ants were gnawing at his heart. He felt numb, itchy, and painful. Charles removed his tie and said while frowning, âThere are so many people in this world. There might be someone who looks exactly the same as her.â
âYou rather believe something thatâs one in a million than believing me? Youâre making me so sad.â Leah smiled bitterly and dabbed at the corner of her eyes. âMy brother and Sophia are still in the room. Why donât you go with me and see if thatâs really Sophia or not?â
Charles draped his tie across his arm. He grabbed the ring box tightly. There was an unknown look in his eyes. He immediately went downstairs.
Leah followed behind him and said slowly, âYou can see the room opposite from the stairs in the southwest direction of the living room. When you get there, I will tell Sophia youâre here to look for her.â
He was walking very fast, so she had no choice but to run after him.
âItâs this room. Charles, wait, Iâll knock.â Leah got to the door one step ahead of Charles and knocked.
Creak.
The door was opened from the inside. William was standing at the door with his white shirt and black tuxedo pants. There was a weird expression on his usually kind face. There was an obvious hostility in his eyes.
Charles looked past him, and his gaze landed on Sophia who was wearing a super short skirt and a crop top. His eyes turned cold.
Sophia and William were the only two people in the room. There were no other people!
âCharles, why are you here?â Sophia grinned and walked to him. She circled her arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips. âDo you miss me because you didnât see me for the whole day?â
William looked at the amorous Sophia. His face fell. He wanted so badly to separate the two of them. However, when he took a step forward, Leah grabbed him and shook her head.
âThereâs something I have to take care of at the office. Iâll be heading off.â William did not even take his coat. He walked out with his face gloomy.
Sophia was hanging onto Charles. âWhy are you not talking? Are you in a bad mood?â She chuckled. âThen I shall give you more kissy-kisses. Donât be mad, okay?â
She puckered her lips to kiss him. However, he moved his head away and dodged away from her kiss.
Charles recalled what he saw before, and his expression turned gloomy. He removed her hands and pushed her away. He asked coldly, âWhy are you here?â
âOf course Iâm here for Leah!â Sophia answered without thinking. She did not look guilty at all.
Lies! Charles felt agitated. He tugged on his collar and two of his buttons flew across the room before falling on the floor.
He threw away the tie draped across his arm and turned around to walk away without saying anything.
Sophia was confused. She frowned and chased after him. âCharles, wait for me!â
âSophia.â Leah grabbed her from behind. She said earnestly, âMaybe Charles is jealous because he saw you here with my brother. Youâll only add fuel to the fire if you go after him. Let me explain to him for you.â
Before Charles could get into the car, Leah caught up to him.
She grabbed her chest and panted, âCharles, you should believe me now, right? Sophia will be engaged to you tomorrow, but sheâs still entangled with my brother. I donât want to see you get fooled by the two of them. Thatâs why I called you here during their rendezvous.â
âSophia met up with your brother and she invited you, Ryleigh, and Elaine along? Leah, do you think Sophia is an idiot?â Charles was confused. He did not know what he was thinking.

ï¤Chapter 107 Sophia Is Drunk?
The sun cast down on his collar and there was a shadow on his collarbone. His suit was not as tidy as usual. It looked messy because of the two missing buttons. However, it made him look rather seductive.
