Sophia was hospitalized for two days. Even though the doctor asked her to stay for two more days, but when she looked at the bill, she immediately discharged herself even though she was suffering from a fever.
The pay in Dream Club was not too bad. However, after subtracting her basic expenses for the month, she did not have much left. She needed to save this money for a rainy day.
Back then, she had thought that money was the source of all evil. However, she felt that cold hard cash was extremely important after she got sick.
When she got back to the employeeâs dormitory, she was the only one in the room that housed four people. It was not the time for their shifts, so she did not know where the others were. Maybe it was because she was still suffering from a fever, so she felt dizzy after changing her clothes. She held the locker next to her to support herself.
Then, she heard footsteps coming toward her. Suddenly, she was pushed away forcefully. Her lower back hit the desk behind her. She grunted from the dull pain.
Megan did not expect Tiffany Lawrence to push Sophia like that. She jumped up from the shock. When she came back to her senses, she noticed that Sophiaâs face had turned white. She walked over immediately and helped her up. âTiffany, what are you doing? Are you okay, Sophia?â
Sophia shook her head with her face as white as a sheet. âIâm fine...â
âYouâre fine, but Iâm not. Youâre a murderer, and youâre touching my locker. Are you trying to do something to our lockers when weâre not here?â
âI...â Sophia did not have time to react. She lifted her head to look at Tiffany who was looking down on her. She understood everything immediately.
That incident had caused such a commotion in the club. She figured that the entire club must have already knew about her incarceration.
The expected embarrassment washed over her. She lowered her eyes and explained softly, âI held your locker to support myself because I felt dizzy. I didnât do anything, donât worry.â
âGod knows. Iâm scared that Iâll die an unexplained death one day from living with a murderer like you.â
âEnough. Weâve hung out with each other for half a month. Arenât you just fine?â Megan glared at her. When she turned around, she saw an unhealthy red tint on Sophiaâs abnormally pale face. She reached out her hand and touched her forehead. âAh! You got discharged when youâre still burning up? Why didnât you stay in the hospital longer?â
âItâs just a cold, itâs nothing serious...â
âPah, why are you still pretending?â Tiffany retorted. She checked her locker again before slamming the door to leave. âIâm telling the person in charge that I want to change my dorm. Itâs so disgusting staying with a person like this.â
Megan looked at Tiffanyâs retreating back, and her eyes were red from anger. âWho the hell does she think she is? Does she think sheâs royalty?
Sheâs working here like the rest of us! Sophia, donât mind her.â
Sophia was stunned when she saw Megan standing up for her. Warmth started spreading in her heart. âThank you, Megan.â
âThank you for making me believe that this world is not as bad as it seems.â
After a while, there was knocking on the door. Megan went over to open the door. When she saw the person at the door, she was slightly shocked.
âAh? Marie, why are you here?â
Marie grunted a reply and did not answer her. Her gaze landed on Sophia who was sitting on the side of the bed. Her almond-shaped eyes were inspecting her.
This was the second time she saw Sophia. Both times were on different occasions.
She was always swift and decisive in whatever she did. She pointed at Sophia as her red lips moved. âYou. Come with me.â
Sophia had met Marie before. Two years ago, she did not know that the shareholder of Dream Club was Charles. The boss lady of Dream Club was involved with Charlesâ scandals, so she did everything she could to get a member card so that she could come here to check her out.
However, she only looked at her from afar at that time. She had not seen her clearly.
Half a month ago, when she was thrown here, the person who arranged everything for her was the assistant manager. After she started work, Marie never once showed her face.
She looked at the alluring and meticulously-dressed woman in front of her. Sophia could not help but exclaim how extraordinarily beautiful Marie was.
No wonder she could handle such a huge club on her own.
âYour roommate went to the managerâs office and rambled on and on about changing dorms.â Marie looked at Sophia and arched her eyebrows. âI think you should know about that. What do you have to say about this?â
âThatâs right. Itâs all my fault. I volunteer to move out of the employee dormitory.â
