"stop it" I mumbled waking up feeling Soriahs feet kicking me in the back

"your laying on my legs" she said and I rubbed my eyes, then sitting up. She then got up and walked to her bathroom.

I sat there for a minute just staring off into space. I heard talking downstairs. Duke came and opened the door and he just stood there staring at me

"when you- I came over last night, you know my house far as shit from the hospital" I said cutting him off

"oh igh. You slept in here?" He asked and I nodded, and then soriah walked out her bathroom.

"she was kicking me all fucking night" I shook my head

"exactly"Duke said laughing and soriah stuck her middle finger up

"well anyway somebody downstairs for you" Duke said and soriah looked at him confused

"come on" he said and we both walked downstairs following him.

As soon as we made it to the last step of the stairs, soriah froze as she seen her dad. Carmen had her phone out and she was recording soriah's reaction.

"but- ain't no way" she said as he eyes filled wit tears. They dad ain't been home in a good two years.

"damn you ain't happy" Duke said

"yes yes I am" soriah said as her dad pulled her in a tight hug with them rocking back and forth, and me and Duke started laughing. She was a big baby fr.

"I thought you was coming next week" she said leaning her head on his shoulder

"no I was always coming today, I just told your momma to tell you that" cole said and they continued to hug

"I'm so happy" soriah said wiping her tears, trying not to mess her lash extensions up

"Big ass baby" Duke munbled making us all laugh

"Oh shit wassup kai, I ain't even see you" cole said dapping me up and pulling me into a hug.

"I gotta go anyways, it was nice seeing you though"

"you don't wanna have breakfast with us" Carmen asked and soriah nodded her head

"nah I fr gotta go" I said laughing under my breath and I seen soriah face turn into a frown

"alright, but you gotta come to the anniversary party" cole said and I nodded

"yes fosho" I mumbled, I then walked back upstairs and I put my shoes on and grabbed my jacket when I turned around I seen soriah and she was just straight facing me

"damn what I do" I laughed cause she kinda looked mad

"nothing" she mumbled chuckling

"why you ain't down there with your dad" I asked

"I gotta go to class in a minute, so ima get dressed and then ima eat breakfast when ma done cooking it" she said shrugging and I nodded

"eat today alright" she smiled at me

"Soriah stop doing that shit"'I mumbled

"Doing what" she jerked her head back

"acting like you care" I said

"I told you I'm not acting, don't say that again. Just eat today." She patted my back

"bye soriah" I said as I walked out her room and I heard a little 'bye' come from her

I sat in the hospital scrolling on my phone as I listened to my moms machines beep  and make noises, I had been at the hospital for about two hours now. I looked up from my phone and just looked at mom.

At this point I was just ready for her to wake up, I was ready to have my mom back. I was so fucking tired of waiting cause it felt like none of this shit was working.

Like what's the point of even sitting here and doing this if she's never going to wake up, if I was never going to get my mom back what was the point.

tears started to ran down my face as I thought about if she never would wake up, if all of this was just for nothing. i started thinking that everything at this point in life was just pointless

Snapping me out my thoughts my phone rung and it was of course soriah. I smiled before I wiped my tears, and I sighed then answering the phone

"hellooo" she yelled and I could tell she was in a happy ass mood

"hey" I mumbled

"how are you?" She asked me and I was confused why she was asking me that cause people don't just ask me that.

"I'm good why?"

"cause I just wanted to know that your ok" she said and I let out a small smile

"mm" I mumbled

"why you so happy g?" I asked

"I made a 90 on that test I been studying for" she said excitedly

"mm, I got me a lil smart bestie" I said and I heard her let out small laughs

"yeah sum like that" she mumbled

"you wanna come over after I leave the hospital?"

"Yeah" she said sounding happy

"Did you eat?" She asked and I thought about lying cause I ain't want her to get mad but I just didn't because I didn't want to lie to her as well

"no" I mumbled

"um ok, what do you want I'll get you something?" she said, and i was a little surprised cause she didn't get mad which is something Mia used to get mad at me about

"I don't- hi" the doctor walked in cutting me off

"aye soriah ima call you back, you can go over to the house I'll meet you there and shit" I said and then hung up

"hi, how are you?" Doctor thomas asked and I stood up out the chair

"I'm alright, wassup?" I asked cause all that small talk wasn't needed, I just needed him to get to the point.

"well, it's um bad news" he said and I just nodded placing my phone in my back pocket

"ok so um we recommend that you take her off life support and the ventilator. So we think that you should just pull the plug. She's not looking to well so far, and if she does wake up she's not going to be like she was before"

"you tryna get me to kill my ma" I jerked my head back

"Ion give a fuck if she ain't the same, at least she will be here" my eyes started to fill with tears

" I know this hard sir- youn know shit" I cut him off

"She's probably not even going to make it" he said and I just shook my head

"keep trying, I'm not pulling no plug" I shrugged and he nodded, I grabbed my keys and stormed out the room.
