"you acting like you got cheated on. My god." Amaya said slapping her forehead

"nah i just don't fw that cheating and shit" Duke said a little irritated

"Yeah nigga argued with cortez over that shit" kai said shaking his head

"You talking bout when he cheating on that girl?"I asked and they both nodded

"oh yeahhh I remember that" I said remembering, cortez was all over the place when he was alive. Everybody loved him though. He was real known around the city, literally everywhere he went people knew him.

When kai, Duke, and cortez were like 16 cortez was with this one girl for a good bit of time I think like two years, and he had ended up cheating on her. He swore they wasn't together of course she said otherwise, but Duke had got mad at him and at the fact of how he was treating her.

They ended up arguing and getting mad at each other, they didn't take for like 3 months, but then cortez and the girl got back together and she ended up cheating on him so she could get her lick back. And so cortez broke up wit her, Duke stopped being petty and they just made up.

Duke and him were always arguing though, they were really like two real brothers, but the arguments were never really heavy cause at the end of the day they loved each other even though they would never really say it outloud.

Cortez was always with some girl, i know him and mari talked for a minute. but she never really said it was anything serious. because i don't think many people knew.

"I should have never even got in between them" Duke laughed

"And then the whole three months they ain't talkikng I'm just there. They both was tryna make me pick sides and shit especially yo ass" kai said pointing at Duke

"Petty as fuck" mari mumbled and Duke stuck his middle finger up, we was all just sitting in the living room currently talking.

"call it how you see it" Duke through his hands up

We all heard the front door open making us turn our heads. It was my mom walking in.

"hey mommaaa" I said dragging it out

"I know that's not kai" my mom gasped totally ignoring me, going and giving kai a hug

"well just ignore me then" I mumbled which she heard and then came over and kissed me on the cheek

"How you been kai" Carmen asked placing her hands on hips

"just you know.. I'm alright" he shrugged and I looked at him malign eye contact as I bit down on my bottom lip

"uh ok that's good" Carmen slightly smiled

"Ma daddy still coming home next week?" I asked and she nodded, my dad was in the military and so he traveled but he was coming back down for there anniversary that was next month

"Yeah he's supposed to be" she said

"yayy" I said jumping on the couch and jumping on Duke

"your such a child" Duke mugged me and I just laughed

"I'm finna head out though" kai said as he dapped up Duke

"where you finna go?" I asked as I stood beside him

"damn stalker" he mugged me and then started laughing

"yeah yeah, I'll walk you out come onn" I said as we both walked outside

"finna go see my mom" he said as we are walked over to his car

"oh ok.." I mumbled

"are you okay?" I asked

"yep always" he said smiling and I felt like it was a lie but I couldn't tell really and I wasn't finna keep bothering him cause I know that can get annoying

"On well call me when you get home" I smiled, and then we hugged before he got into his car and then pulled off.

I walked back into the house, I saw only Duke laying on the couch now. He was watching something on the tv. I headed up to my room cause I figured mari and amaya was up there.

I walked in my room seeing them both laying on my bed. "you ain't set us up" amaya asked referring to amaya wanted to get with kai

"Maya he ain't thinking bout no girl right now. He got shit going on" I shrugged

"mm" she mumbled

𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵..

I sat in my bed watching nextflix and scrolling on Instagram. It was about 1:00am and both mari and amaya had already left.

I got up and got out of bed, Duke and my mom was asleep so I quickly walked downstairs tryna he quite at the same time. I walked downstairs and went into the kitchen. I grabbed some chips and just sat on the island and ate them all by myself in the dark.

I was just sitting there kicking my feet, but I froze once I heard someone knocking on the front door.

"Oh hell nawl" I mumbled to myself, and then I heard my phone ring, which it was kai so I answered it.

"I'm bout to die. Somebody knocking at the door" I whispered into the mic

"It's me" he said sniffing and laughing

"Scary ass" he mumbked and I hung up and went and answered the door

"why you here?" I asked and he just shrugged

"They said I couldn't stay wit my ma anymore at the hospital until tomorrow" he said and I nodded

"mm" I said letting him in, I locked the door back and then walked up into my room with him following behind me.

"are you high" I asked looking at his low red eyes

"mm no, actually yes"

"I'm not gon lie to you" he laughed

"not you finna lie" I shook my head

"nah I just don't want yo innocent ass to know" he shrugged

"I'm not innocent" I mumbled

"That's what innocent people say" he said taking his sheos off

"Here" I threw him a blanket

"why you come over here fr?" I asked laying in bed as he layed at the foot of my bed

"ion know" he shrugged

"just wanted to see my new best friend" he said smiling at me

"we best friends?" I asked smiling and he nodded closing his eyes

"Yeah I guess" he shrugged, we got silent and I started watching nextflix again and he just sat there, about five minutes later I heard snoring coming from him.
