Soriah stood with her hands tucked in her puffer coat pocket while she waited for the door in front of her to be opened.
She stood and waited for a while, up until the large front door opened and revealed a tired-looking Mari. Her eyes were red, and her hair wasn't the best looking at the moment.
She looked out of it, and considering her circumstances Soriah understood.
"Hey," Soriah smiled before she immediately pulled Mari into a long hug.
"Hey," Mari mumbled just as the two pulled away from the hug and Mari let Soriah walk in.
"Is your mom here ?" Soria asked, expecting to see Mari's mom so she could speak to her.
"Nope. She's been going and going ever since she found out the news, I've never seen her be so busy" Mari sniffled.
"Mm. I kinda wanted to speak to her" Soriah told her sd the two sat down on the couch beside one another.
"Yeah, a lot of people have. Kinda weird to me how she just won't sit down."
"Everyone handles grief differently Mari. All this shit is new to us, we've never lost people this close to us. Maybe this is just how she handles it" Soriah said.
"Yeah, I guess" Mari shrugged her shoulders before the two went quiet for only a moment.
"um," Mari cleared her throat. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for
Amaya's funeral. I just couldn'tâ"
"I know. I barely made it too" Soriah huffed.
"And if you think it's because of all the shit me and her had to go on it's not."
"I and she had our problems but she was my best friend, even if the shit wasn't reciprocated with me or any of us for that matter" Mari sighed.
"What do you mean? You don't think she thought you were her best friend ?" Soriah asked confused about what Mari was saying or trying to say.
"I don't know what Amaya thought, but by her last words to me, it seems like I wasn't. And to be honest Soriah neither were you" Mari broke eye contact with Soriah.
"Well, what did she say?" Soriah tilted her head.
Mari shook her head, "forget it Soriah. I mean does it matter now? She's dead" Mari shrugged her shoulders.
"I mean you can't just say things like that and expect me to just fogey it Mari." Soriah laughed awkwardly in confusion.
"Like I said she's dead, so forget it"
Soria confusingly jerked her head back. With everything going on, she was confused as to why nobody was truly saying what they felt.
She came over here about Teek and it is now about Amaya and Amaya's friendship with them. Which she didn't want to speak on, but now that it was brought she was curious to know everything that she didn't.

Soriah pulled up in her parent's driveway and switched off her car as she did. She grabbed her overnight back from the back seat of her car.
After she left Mari's she stopped by Kai's house and got some of her things. Her parents wanted her to be close to them considering Amaya's murder.
Soriah was grown, so she didn't understand why they were so worried about her but on the other end, they were still her parents.
So she was willing to listen to them and put her moving in with Kai on hold for a while. The two had plenty of time to be together so she wasn't really worried.
Soriah started walking towards the front door she gathered her keys, all up until she heard "Miss. Brown ?"
She turned around and saw two unknown people. One was a woman and the other was a man.
She didn't know exactly what they wanted, but once she saw the police badges around their neck she soon figured out that they were either here about Teek or Amaya.
- She didn't want to speak on either case though.
"Yes.." Soriah mumbled
"I'm Officer Mendez. This is my partner Cooper" she smiled sticking her hand on.
Soriah looked at her pale hand before hesitating but shaking it anyway.
"Okay," Soriah dragged tilting her head.
"Well, we just wanted to ask you a few questions about the murder of your friend Amaya."
"I thought y'all wasn't going to investigate this case. Didn't y'all say it wasn't that important" Soriah said just going off what she had been hearing from various people.
"That was before when we believed her death to be a random robbery," Cooper spoke while Soriah looked at him confused.
"Your friend was found on the side of the road. No phone, car keys, or purse. No witnesses, no cameras, we just didn't believe we would find her killer" Officer Mendez told her.
"Okay. So what's changed ?" Soriah crossed her arms.
"Since the killing of Teek, we thought we should look into her case as well. Maybe everything is connected."
"Um. I don'tâ"
"We've heard that you and Teek were friends. Correct?" Cooper tilted his head.
"I mean friends is an exaggeration. We just knew each other, that's it" Soriah shrugged her shoulders.
"hm. And you were hear the night of the murder ?"
"Yeah. with my boyfriend," Soriah answered.
"Kaire right ?" Cooper asked looking up from his notepad.
"Yup," Soriah shortly answered, before both officers wrote something down on their small notepads.
"Okay, what does all this have to do with Amaya or Teek ?" Soriah rolled her eyes. "Because I feel like the Both of you are just asking me unnecessarily things right now."
Officer Mendez sighed while she made eye contact with Cooper. "Do you know of Teek having any type of crush on you? Maybe the two of you took a liking to one another?"
Soriah laughed. "You think me and Teek had something going on, really yea no"
"Teek apparently liked me, but I had a boyfriend and even if I didn't I was never going to like him back and if he was alive I still wouldn't," Soriah said, as the officers shook their heads.
"So are we done here?" Soriah stuck her neck out.
"Um, I think so." Officer Mendez said just as Soriah turned around.
"I have one more question" Cooper spoke up
Soriah huffed and looked back at him,
"Do you know anything about a ring that Amaya would always wear? Her parents were looking for it and thought maybe you or any of her other friends would have it." Cooper said, and Soriah knew the exact ring they were talking about
"Nah I don't have it, and don't know where it's at" Soriah shrugged.
Both officers looked at her for a moment, before Officer Mendez said "Well you have a good day Miss Brown"
