"you know we been through this several times." He replied back to her, making her shrug in response.

ðððððð, laid in the bed feeling kisses being placed on the side of her cheek. she moved around a bit before grabbing the side of his far, and softly pushing it away from hers.
"Kai stopp" she dragged out, her voice being a little raspy because of her just now waking up.
"get up, so we can go" he mumbled before burying his face in the side of her neck.
she sat up a bit, while looking at the clock that sat on the nightstand beside them. Seeing that it 10:30 she quickly rubbed her eyes and woke up more.
"Why didn't you tell me it was so late. we're going to be late!" Soriah said a bit loud, before she quickly rolled out of bed.
"No you're going to be late. Know it take you forever to get dressed" kai shook his head as he followed her to the bathroom.
"It does not. You just don't wake me up early enough" she said and he watched her as she got all of her hair products from under his cabinet.
"So it's my fault that we late to every event" kai slightly yelled as he walked over to the closet.
"yes! that's exactly right" she yelled back, causing him to laugh. Soriah got all of her hair products and other items she needed to get from under the counter, which was making a lot of noise.
Causing kai to walk back in the bathroom, and stand at the doorway. He looked down at soriah who was still looking for something in the counters.
"Have you seenmy edge brush" she huffed as she looked up at him, he didn't respond but only smiled at her which definitely confused soriah.
"What ?" She mumbled smiling back at him
"Nothing" he shook his head, and then pointed to the top of the counter "isn't that it right there ?"
She stood up to see her brush sitting on the top of the counter "oh yea" she nodded, before she picked it up.
"You know, i really need to organize under your cabinets" Soriah said while kai looked at her with a confused expression.
"Didn't you do that last week"
"yea but you know i brought more of my stuff and i didn't take my other products home. so now they're just all here. So it needs to be organized again" soriah answered, and after she started brushing her teeth.
"Hmmm" he hummed at her reply before grabbing his toothbrush and the toothpaste from her.
While he brushed his teeth, she washed her face and did her skin care and right after she started on her hair and makeup .
"How many people do you think are gonna show up ?" She asked and he shrugged in response.
"Probably the whole block. Hopefully this shit don't go left. you know how niggas get when it's bunch of them in the same place." Kai shook his head making soriah laugh under her breath.
"I really hope everybody and they momma ain't there. I do not feel like talking that much" Soriah sighed, and Kai nodded in agreement.
"Me either, but you know cortez knew everybody." Kai shrugged. they were both getting ready to go to a party that Cortez's mom was throwing. Kai didn't know why she was throwing a party this close to the anniversary of Cortez's death, but he didn't question it.
When she asked him to show up, he decided it could be the least he could do. but he of course had to have Soriah by his side because even going to the house that Cortez use to live at brought a lot of memories back.
"I hope everyone acts right.. i know his momma been going through it" Soriah trailed off as she started to straighten and do her hair.
"here let me see" kai mumbled, pointing to her hair straightener. she smiled at him, before handing it to him. And He started to slowly and carefully do her hair.
"Kai don't burn meâ" she mumbled just before he burned the side of her ear. "oww , see no" she quickly took the straightener from him while he laughed.
"my bad, hold on." He said while trying not to laugh. he rubbed on her ear trying to soothe it but she pushed his hand away quickly.
"i love you but just go ahead and leave the bathroom please" she said pushing him out the bathroom.
"yea i love you too wife" he said before walking out the bathroom.

Soriah leaned against the front door, watching Duke and kai talk on the porch next to her. She didn't know exactly what they were tallied about cause she wasn't paying attention, and Mari was even sitting beside her talking but she wasn't even paying attention to her.
"So yea then i walked out, and shit really ain't been cool with me and him since then. I know he's my brother, but like that Nigga been acting funny lately" Mari shrugged, and soriah acted as if she knew what Mari was talking about by nodding her head.
"yea i mean i understood" Soriah mumbled completely lying, but right before mari could reply both Duke and Kai came over to them.
The party was packed, kai and Duke knew mostly everybody that showed up but they had only been here for an hour and they hands even said hello to everyone yet.
It was so many people, and it was hard to even speak to everyone but they figured they would speak to everyone by the time the party ended.
Kai stood up behind soriah, grabbing the back of her neck.
She turned around smiling at him causing him to smile down at her. "you so pretty" he mumbled but she still heard him and so did everyone else.
"thank youâ" she replied back before turning turning around and seeing mari and Duke both looking at the two of them.
"enough of that shit" Duke waved them off, shaking his head constantly.
"Nigga shut the fuck up" Kai said, while both him and Duke walked away. Soraih laughed looking at the two walk away, looking as if they were arguing but he could tell they were fr.
"nigga that's my sister that's so damn different" soriah heard Duke say from a distance but when they got farther away she couldn't even hear what they were saying to one another anymore.
"Ahh nigga please" kai waved him off, not worrying about how Duke felt. "I'm basically yo brother in law" kai shrugged.
Duke stopped walking and just stared at kai harshly "nigga that's nasty" he said, making kai bust out laughing along with Duke right after.
"shit finally feeling normal again" Duke said, before the two of them started to walk back to the drink stand.
"No cap. Wouldn't wish the shit we went through on my worst enemy" kai shook his head, while he filled his red cup up.
"Foshoâ" Duke said before he got cut off by a loud "Boysss!" They both turned to see Cortez's mom walking up towards them.
"Hey ms.Mona" Duke said going in to hug her first. The two of them hugged for a moment as she rocked back and forth with him.
She then looked over at kai and went in for a hug with him, and did the same thing with Kai as she did with Duke.
"The both of you look so good. I'm glad to see that the two of you are healthy" she said mostly looking at kai. he just nodded instead of saying anything more.
"how have you two been ?" She said but before the two friends could answer she said "i met your little girlfriend up on the porch earlier she is so pretty!" She looked at kai
"I've been good, and i preciate it" he smiled, and she smiled back at him before she looked over at Duke.
"I've been good too" Duke said, she started to say more to him but Kai started to block her out as he turned around and looked at the crowd of people.
He looked around for a moment, before his eyes fell on soriah who was standing beside mari. The two of them were by a crowd of people that mari was talking to, but soriah was just standing there.
She seemed to be talking when she was spoke too, but not wanting to really.
"Ima be right back bro" kai said not even paying attention to dukes response before he started to walk over to soriah.
Kai looked down at his air-forces as he made his way over to her, but before he did he heard a loud engine. He turned around, he squinted looking at the black truck that pulled up.
He saw the window of the truck roll down revealing the guy who sat in the driver seat, wearing the ski mask that was pulled all the way down.
Kai squinted at the driver.. he noticed those eyes, he saw the driver slowly pull out the gun so he quickly turned around. "SORIAH" he yelled and before he knew it his body was on the ground.
