"let me have some" I frowned grabbing Kai's wrist because I was tryna get to the snow cone he was holding
"man no, I told you I would've got you some" he said snatching his wrist away, as we continued to walk through the board walk that was close to the beach.
"fine I ain't want it anyway" I rolled my eyes
"man here" he mumbled handing it to me but I didn't take it cause I turned my head towards the dippin dots truck
"ouu dippin dots" I smiled
"bruh choose one damn" he shook his head
"get me some" I poked my bottom lip out
"cmon" he said and I followed him to it and he was tearing that snow cone up
"damn that shit ain't cold" I scrunched my face up, and he just laughed. He went and talk to the lady and I told him what I wanted so he ordered for me.
I just got on my phone as he paid and did allat. My phone started ringing and I noticed that it mari calling me so I answered.
"yesssss?" I dragged it out putting the phone up to my ear
"whatchuuu doing best?"
"getting dippin dots" I held the phone in between my ear and shoulder as kai handed me cup to me
I took it off my ear and I put the phone speaker so I could hear her and eat.
"damn you ain't get me none"
"girl I'm all the way in palm coast" I laughed, it was a hour away from Jacksonville. Me and Kai came out here cause he apparently wanted to get away from his brother, and I had just got out school for the semester so I was free. Which we was only coming up here for a day nothing major.
"by yourself? You know it's a lot of sex trafficking-"
"no MOM, I'm wit kai" I laughed
"Oh good. Y'all coming to the dinner tonight?" She asked
"what dinner?" I mumbled cause I was eating
"something amaya doing, ion know" I shrugged
"she always doing something" mari added
"um I don't know yet, we might not be back in time. I'll let yall know though" I said
"Alright bett, byeee" she drug it out
"byeee" I hung up
"you tryna go?" Kai looked over at me
"Eh, ion know." I shrugged, we started walking in silence because I was eating
"It's not going no where damn bruh" he scrunched his face up and I looked at him with my cheeks full of ice cream
"dat don't make no sense" he laughed
"gimme kiss" I said making him bend down and peck me on the lips, we continued to walk down the board walk in silence
"isnt it close to cortez date?" I asked referring to his death date, it was random as hell for me to ask that and I shouldn't have just blurted it out like that.
"yeah" he mumbled
"my bad I ain't me too- u good" he said cutting me off.
"It's the 23 or sum like that" he nodded
"Oh ok.."
"you eating allat and we finna go to eat" he shook his head changing the subject
"damn dad" I mugged him

we walked up towards the restaurant, it was also located on the board walk.
"here take my picture" I said and he nodded
"Look at you being compliant" I smiled
"better shut up for I don't do nun" he mumbled trying not to let me hear him, which he smiled once he noticed I did

"damn that corn good huh?" I laughed looking at him eat his seafood
"Hell yea" he mumbled
"I need a napkin" I look down at my shit to see that I got sauce on it
"just-" he was cut off feeling his phone going off, he patted his pockets before taking his phone out.
He sighed turning the ringer off and he just sat it on the table. I looked at the phone at the phone to see the words 'kacen' which I knew it was his brother.
"why you ain't answer it?" I laughed wiping my shirt
"cause he irritating fr" kai shrugged
"what he do now?" I mumbled, kai had been telling me shit about kacen since he got here.
Apparently kacen had been throwing parties at his mom house without her permission, bringing random girls over. I thought it was a little weird because kacen was grown if he wanted to do allat he could have just stayed where he was.
His mom also didn't need all of that added stress she had just got out the hospital, but it really also wasn't my business.
"nun" kai shrugged, and then got quite as he continued to eat
"why you let everything get to you?" I asked randomly
"whatchu mean"
"like you give everything a reaction, and it doesn't always need one. I mean your pretty chill but when you mad you go to a 100"
"ima be honest, i ain't never had anyone show me how to really use my feelings. I ain't never been taught how to control them either. I go hard for anything, if I'm in love ima go hard, same for if I'm feeling mad, happy, or sad" he shrugged
"If I probably would have had someone to teach me fr how to really control my emotions I probably wouldn't be like this, I had my ma but she sometimes didn't really know how to relate to me on a man level"
"well you know what helps me calm down sometimes " I smiled
"you bout to say sum dumb huh" he smiled and I put my hand over his mouth
"just think of unicorns" I continued smiled
"your a fucking child" he laughed
