Bose POV:

Chapa was in my car, sleeping in the passenger seat next to me. She wasn't okay; she looked like she had run marathons in a desert. Despite that, she still looked cute and pretty. I couldn't help but glance over at her every few minutes, feeling a mix of worry and admiration. As we drove back to Rivalton, I knew I needed to update the team, so I called Miles.

"Hey, Miles. Chapa took care of the villain, but we need to wipe her memory if she's still alive," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "We assume she's not because her whole neck exploded, but we should check."

Miles interrupted, "Wait, the police just called the Man's Nest. They said the villain wasn't there when they wanted to get her."

My heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean she wasn't there?"

Miles sounded as shocked as I felt. "I don't know, but now you tell me Chapa defeated her. She must've run away."

I whispered to myself, "Sage..." Panic surged through me. "I gotta go. I think she might go after Sage."

I hung up and immediately turned the car around, heading back to Swellview as fast as I could. Chapa was still sleeping, completely unaware of the urgency. My mind raced with worry for Sage. When I finally pulled up to Chapa's old house, everything seemed quiet and normal.

I carefully carried Chapa out of the car, trying not to wake her. She stirred slightly but didn't wake up. I knocked on the door, my heart pounding. Sage opened it, looking surprised and confused to see me standing there with her sister in my arms.

"Bose!" she exclaimed with excitement, then her expression changed to one of concern. "Why is Chapa in your arms like that?"

"Hey, Sage," I said softly. "Chapa needed some rest, so I brought her here. I'm going to put her in bed, okay?"

Sage nodded, still looking worried. I carried Chapa to her old bedroom and gently laid her on the bed. Sage followed me, her eyes wide with curiosity and concern.

"Is she going to be okay?" Sage asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"She will be," I reassured her. "Just needs some rest."

We went back downstairs, and I asked, "Are your parents home?"

"No, they're out for dinner," Sage replied.

I nodded, feeling a bit relieved. "Good. Listen, everything's fine now. I ran into Chapa while she was sleeping and decided to put her in bed here. Are you okay?"

Sage nodded again, though she still looked confused. "Yeah, I was just watching television."

I smiled at her. "Mind if I join you? Just for a bit."

She looked even more confused but said, "Sure. Do you want something to drink? You look exhausted."

"Just water, please," I replied, grateful for her kindness.

As Sage went to get the water, someone knocked on the door. My heart skipped a beat again. Assuming it was Elena, I braced myself. I opened the door and threw a punch, but Elena dodged it and pushed me back. She looked horrible—burned, damaged, and furious.

"Hi, Brainstorm," she said with a mean tone.

Sage came back into the room, her face pale with fear. "What's happening?" she asked.

"Go to your sister, now!" I commanded. Sage ran upstairs, and I turned back to Elena. "How is this possible?"

Elena smirked. "I had a backup chip since last time it got damaged."

"But your neck exploded," I protested. "Wouldn't the backup be damaged too?"

She laughed darkly. "I have enough power left to defeat you."

She threw punches at me, and I dodged most of them, but the ones that landed hurt. I levitated her and slammed her onto the ground. She struggled to get up, and as I approached her, she grabbed my feet and threw me down. The impact was excruciating.

Elena took advantage of my momentary weakness and ran upstairs. Her super speed wasn't as fast as before, but she was still quick. I forced myself to my feet and chased after her. As I reached the top of the stairs, I heard a loud noise. Elena lay on the ground, unconscious. Sage stood behind her, holding a taser.

"What happened?" I asked, breathless.

Sage looked a bit shaken but proud. "I electrocuted her with Chapa's taser. Her neck exploded a bit."

I was so proud of her but also scared for her safety. "You did great, Sage," I said, giving her a hug. "Are you okay?"

She nodded, still a bit shaky. "Yeah, but what's going on, Bose? And why did she call you Brainstorm? Wait, are you Brainstorm? Like, from Danger Force?"

I sighed and nodded. "Yeah. But you can't tell anyone, okay?"

Sage's eyes widened in amazement. "You're so cool!" she exclaimed.

I laughed, feeling a bit embarrassed. "You're cool too. You defeated her!"

Sage smiled, gaining confidence. I quickly called Miles again. "I've taken care of it. Can you teleport to Chapa's old house with the memory wiper?"

Miles and Mika arrived within a minute. They looked around, confused. "What happened here?" Mika asked.

"I'll explain later," I said. "Just help me with this."

I went upstairs and wiped Elena's memory, ensuring she wouldn't remember anything. I saw Sage in Chapa's bedroom. Elena was still alive, barely breathing. I carried her downstairs, where Miles and Mika looked at her with disgust.

"Ew," they both said at the same time.

They teleported Elena to the police. As they left, Chapa and Sage came downstairs. Sage said she woke Chapa up, and Chapa looked at me, confused and concerned.

"Why am I here?" Chapa asked.

Sage, with full confidence, explained, "A mean woman came for me, so I electrocuted her with your taser. She passed out."

Chapa's eyes widened in anger. "You did what?! Sage, you could've been killed! Are you okay? And you're not allowed to use my taser."

But then Chapa softened, realizing how brave Sage had been. She hugged her tightly. "I'm just glad you're okay."

Sage made a motion with her hand, signaling me to join. I did, and the three of us hugged. It felt comforting and nice.

Sage then added, "Oh, and Bose helped me, of course. I couldn't have done it without him."

Chapa gave me a small smile, and I felt a warmth spread through me. "We should go before our parents get back home," Chapa said. "Don't tell Mom and Dad about this!"

Sage nodded. "I won't."

Chapa and I walked back to the car and got in. As we drove away, Sage stood at the door and yelled, "I know you two like like each other!"

We both turned back, embarrassed. But Sage already went inside. Chapa quickly said, "Don't mind her. She says weird stuff all the time."

I laughed, feeling a mix of embarrassment and happiness. "Yeah, weird stuff."

We just got in the car, she immediately fell asleep. I didn't want to let her sleep in her own tiny apartment, so I rode to my penthouse. She woke up and asked, groggily, "Where are we?"

"We're at my place," I said gently. "You can stay here so I can take care of you. I still have some medicines left."

She nodded, still half-asleep, and we made our way upstairs in the elevator. She almost fell asleep standing, so I caught her just in time, lifting her up effortlessly. When we got into my penthouse, she practically jumped on my bed, burying her face in the pillows.

"I need your bed, Bose," she mumbled, her voice muffled. "It's so big and comfortable."

I chuckled softly. "I'm glad you like it." I watched her for a moment, then headed to the kitchen to get some water and medicine. When I returned, she was already drifting off. I sat beside her and gently shook her awake.

"Chapa, you need to take this," I said, holding out the pills and a glass of water.

She opened her eyes just enough to see what I was offering and sighed. "You're too good to me, Bose," she said before taking the medicine and sipping the water. She handed the glass back and lay down again, pulling the blanket over herself.

"Just rest," I told her. "You've had a rough day."

She looked at me with a tired but grateful smile. "Thanks."

I felt a warm flush of pride and affection. "You'd manage, like you always do. But I'm here whenever you need me."

It was now 8PM. She closed her eyes, a peaceful expression settling on her face. For a moment, I just watched her, marveling at how someone so fierce could look so serene. It wasn't often that Chapa let her guard down, and I felt honored that she trusted me enough to do so.

I quietly moved around the room, dimming the lights and making sure everything was comfortable for her.

A few minutes after Chapa fell asleep, there was a knock on my door. I carefully made my way to answer it, hoping it wouldn't wake her. When I opened the door, I found Andrew standing there, holding a stack of paperwork.

"Hi Bose. Here's the paperwork from last week," he said, handing it to me with a friendly smile.

"Thanks," I replied, taking the papers. "It's good to see you again. How was your vacation?"

"It was great," Andrew said, stepping inside as I motioned for him to come in. As he walked in, he glanced around and then noticed Chapa sleeping in my bed. I closed my bedroom door quickly. His eyebrows shot up in surprise, and he gave me a questioning look.

"She's my childhood friend," I quickly explained. "She was exhausted, so I brought her here to rest."

Andrew's smirk grew wider. "I didn't say anything," he said, clearly skeptical. "It's just, you never bring women around your place, friends or not. You barely even let Bridget into your house."

I shrugged, not wanting to get into the complexities of my relationship with Chapa. "Can I get you something to drink?"

"Sure," he said, still smiling knowingly. "I'll have whatever you're having."

I poured us both a drink and handed one to Andrew, then gestured for him to sit down. We settled into the living room, and I decided to steer the conversation towards his vacation to avoid further questions about Chapa.

"So, how was Italy?" I asked, genuinely curious. "Did you enjoy it?"

"Italy was amazing," Andrew said, his eyes lighting up. "The food, the sights, everything. Couldn't you speak Italian?"

"Yes," I said with a smile. "But I haven't practiced in a while."

"Say something in Italian then," he challenged, leaning forward eagerly.

I thought for a moment, then said with a playful glint in my eye, "Sono innamorato di te, Andrew."

"What did you say?" he asked, looking both intrigued and confused.

I grinned. "I'm in love with you... Andrew."

He laughed and gave me a gentle shove. "Just kidding," I added, still smiling.

Andrew glanced at Chapa again, his curiosity clearly piqued. "Hey, that competitive girl I had on the phone yesterday said she was your childhood friend. Is that her? I believe her name was Mika?"

I laughed and shook my head. "No, her name is Chapa. Mika is another childhood friend of mine."

"Oh, okay," Andrew said, looking a bit relieved. "I was starting to think you had a whole network of secret childhood friends."

"Just a few," I said with a grin. "Now, tell me more about Italy."

Andrew's face brightened as he launched into tales of his adventures in Italy. "The food was incredible," he said. "I had the best pasta I've ever tasted in a little family-owned restaurant in Florence. And the art! Seeing the David in person was mind-blowing. The detail, the craftsmanship... photos just don't do it justice."

I nodded, genuinely interested. "I've always wanted to see the art in Florence. Did you visit any other cities?"

"Yeah, we went to Rome, Venice, and Milan," he said. "Rome was like stepping back in time. The Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon... it was surreal. And Venice, oh man, the canals! It's like a postcard come to life. We took a gondola ride at sunset, and it was magical."

"That sounds amazing," I said, imagining the scenes he described. "And Milan?"

"Milan was great too," Andrew said. "It's more modern, but the fashion and the vibe of the city were incredible. I even went to a couple of fashion shows. It was like being in another world."

"I can imagine," I said, smiling. "I'm glad you had a great time."

"Yeah, it was the trip of a lifetime," Andrew said, then glanced at Chapa again. "So, how long has she been here?"

"Not long," I said, keeping my tone casual. "She just needed a place to crash for a bit."

Andrew gave me a knowing look. "You sure it's just that? I mean, you never bring women here, let alone sleep in your bed."

I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. "It's not like that," I insisted. "We're just friends."

Andrew raised an eyebrow. "If you say so."

I decided it was best to change the subject again. "How's work been today? Anything exciting happen while I was out?"

Andrew shrugged. "Lots of paperwork, a few minor cases. Nothing too exciting."

"Thanks for covering for me," I said. "I'll be back soon. Just needed some time to handle a few things."

We continued talking for a while, sharing stories and catching up. Despite his teasing, it was good to see Andrew and hear about his adventures. It provided a much-needed distraction from the chaos of the past few days.

Andrew stood up to leave, and I guided him to the door. As I opened it, Miles and Mika were standing there. I raised an eyebrow, wondering what brought them here.

"My sister here needed to know what happened," Miles began, "she couldn't sleep without knowing and she threatened me to telepo—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Mika punched him in the stomach. Miles groaned loudly, and Mika quickly turned her attention to Andrew, trying to change the subject and avoid suspicion.

"Hi, I'm Mika. And you are?" she asked, flashing a quick smile.

Andrew blinked in surprise, then recognition dawned on his face. "Wait, Mika? As in the competitive Mika who picked up Bose's phone yesterday?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, but she's definitely competitive. You can't win from her," Miles said with a laugh, rubbing his stomach.

I laughed as well, while Mika looked a bit annoyed. "Oh, you," she said, shaking her head at Miles.

Andrew then turned to her, looking genuinely apologetic. "I'm sorry for not believing you before. It's just that Bose never mentioned you."

I've never seen Andrew like this before.

Mika's expression softened into surprise. "Thank you," she replied, accepting his apology.

"I'll be going then," Andrew said. We exchanged goodbyes, and I watched him leave, feeling a bit relieved. I turned back to Miles and Mika, who stepped inside.

We moved to the living room, where I offered them some drinks. Once we were all seated, I began to explain everything that had happened.

"So, Elena, Chapa's new friend, was Shadow Woman's daughter all along," I said, shaking my head. "Chapa fought her, and it was brutal."

Mika leaned forward, eyes wide. "How did Chapa even manage that? I mean, Elena's super fast and strong."

"It was tough," I admitted. "But Chapa used her powers to target the chip in Elena's neck. It caused an explosion, and we thought she was done for. But she escaped somehow."

Miles whistled. "Man, Chapa's really something."

As I was in the middle of my story, we heard my bedroom door open.

"Bose, can I have some water, please?" Chapa said, her voice groggy as she wiped her eyes.

Miles and Mika looked at each other and then at me. Chapa noticed them and gave a small smile.

"Hi, Chapa. Long time no see. How are you?" Mika asked warmly.

As I walked to the kitchen to grab a glass of water, I heard Chapa respond, "Hi Mika, I've been okay."

"We heard you defeated the villain. We want to thank you," Miles added.

Chapa smiled a bit. "No thanks needed. I should've helped you guys sooner. And I was stupid enough to hang out with her all this time."

"Yeah, we heard it from Bose," Miles said.

"What time is it now?" Chapa asked, looking around.

"It's 10 PM," I replied, handing her the glass of water.

"I'm sorry to miss this little reunion, but I'm really tired. Can I go back to sleep? I'll catch up with you guys soon," she said, her exhaustion evident.

Miles and Mika nodded understandingly and said their goodbyes. Once Chapa was back in the bedroom, Mika immediately turned to me.

"What's Chapa doing here, Bose?" she asked, a curious look in her eyes.

"She was exhausted and needed some medicine, so I brought her here to take care of her," I explained.

"Mhmmm," Mika said, giving me a little smirk.

I rolled my eyes at her. "It's not like that," I said defensively.

"Sure, sure," Mika teased. "You're just being a good friend, right?"

"Exactly," I insisted, though I could feel my cheeks heating up.

As the night wore on, we eventually said our goodbyes. Miles and Mika left, and I took a moment to check on Chapa one last time before heading to bed myself. Seeing her sleeping peacefully, I couldn't help but smile. Despite everything, having her here felt right.

I sat in a chair nearby her, just in case she needed anything during the night. Before I knew it, I found myself drifting off too, the day's events catching up with me. After a long time, I finally felt happy and comfortable.
