Hey guys. I know it's a little early for me to release this, but I had a lot of time on my hands and I thought, well why not.
Flashback, New Yoke City, Yoke HQ
"Well, if it isn't our favorite... What are you anyway? Possum? Weasel?" Dr. Done-It said.
"If you wanna see a weasel, just look in the mirror." Nine replied, getting zapped by an electric taser. "Yikes!"
"Enough! I have one question for you, and you need to answer it very, very carefully." Dr. Deep stated.
"You've already stolen my Shatter Drive technology. aaWhat else do you want?" Nine asked.
"There's a whole Shatterverse of other worlds for us to conquer. And to do that, we'll need this mother ship fully operational." Mr. Dr. Eggman declared, leaving.
"Figure it out yourselves." Nine shot back.
"Or we could figure out how to take you apart piece by piece. It's up to you." Dr. Don't threatened, freaking Nine out. Dr. Babble babbles and laughs.
Meanwhile, we can see the ventilation shafts, with an entrance being opened and a certain blue Hedgehog crawling in. It was Rory, with a mechanical bracelet on him. "Okay Rory, you know what to do. Find the lab, find Nine, and bust him out of here. Okay, let's take a look." Rory then activates his bracelet and a small map appears. "Good thing Nine was able to record a map while he was here the first time. So I just entered from the hanger so I'm here." Rory points at the hanger. "And they have Nine here." He points at the spot that is the lab. "So I gotta go this way. Piece of cake." Rory then starts crawling through the vents.

No Place, Angel's Voyage
Out in the sea, there's a battle going on between the Eggforcers and Angel's Voyage crew, most of whom run for cover.
"Do you know these scalawags?" Dread asked during a battle.
"Yes and no. Short version, they're after the Shard too." Sonic replied while dodging lasers.
"You mean the Devil's Lighthouse?" Dread asked, ducking. "Let 'em have it! I already told you, I want nothing to do with it."
"We can't! In case you haven't noticed, these guys are the bad guys. If we don't stop them, they could rule the entire Shatterverse."
"Well, I can't go back. You know that." Metal-bone said, gesturing to his... metal bones.
"Whoa!" Sonic exclaimed as he noticed Captain Dread in danger. He picked up Dread while Ryder picked up his doppelganger and they ran for it. When they stopped and dodged some lasers, one managed to hit the sail, causing it to fall backwards.
"By order of the Chaos Council, surrender or be destroyed." Rusty Rose commanded.
"Sonic! This isn't New Yoke City. Come on, let's talk this through." Sonic urged.
"Quiet, Hedgehog! I am addressing the Captain." Rusty Rose snapped.
"He be the Captain!" Batten Rouge pointed to Ryder.
"Ryder is the Captain? I wish I were programmed to laugh." Rusty Rose remarked.
"Oh, well you can take your metaphorical laughter and shove it up your... where's the other one?" Ryder asked, confused.
"Pardon?"
"Rex. He's usually everywhere with you. Did you seriously come without him."
"He is currently guarding the prisoner. And I am more than capable of capturing you without him." Rusty said with confidence.
"Well, I'm not saying that, it's just that I always saw you guys as android 17 and 18, so-"
"What do numbers have to do with anything?" Dread asked.
"Not the numbers. You see, there's this story about these two cyborg siblings who conquered the world, and they usually fight together so-" Ryder then started rambling about Dragon Ball Z and the androids until Rusty had enough and interrupted.
"Silence! I do not require Rex to defeat anyone. I am more than sufficient enough to handle you both."
Ryder shrugged. "Whatever you say. But there's two of us, and just you. So good luck with that."
"How are you even here?!" Sonic asked.
"The tides of war have changed. And as for how I am here, all of the Shatterverse is now the Council's for the taking. Last chance! Surrender or sink." Rusty Rose threatened.
"What's the plan, Cap'n? Hang 'em from the yardarm, send 'em down to Davy Jones, cleave them to their biscuits?!" Batten Rouge queried.
"I hear you talking, but I have no idea what you're saying." Ryder replied, confused.
"She means, should we kill them?" Metal-bone translated.
"Oh. Well the orange bots, yes, Rusty, no. We need her alive and she doesn't know that she's fighting for the wrong side."
"Enough talking. Fire!" Rusty ordered and the Eggforcers started firing lasers, hitting the crew.
The whole crew are directly hit by a laser, blowing them back to the other side of the ship and knocking them down.
"The Angel's Voyage is holding up surprisingly well." Sonic comments.
"Aye, she's stronger than she looks." Sails mentions.
"You gonna do something, Cap'n?" Dread passes the Captain's hat to Ryder.
"Right. Time to jump into action. Battle stations, people!" Ryder gets up and points, while his crew-mates run around confused. "Uh, what are they doing?" Knuckles confronts him.
"You bill-sucking buffoon! They don't know what to do. They've never been in combat before."
"Well, how was I supposed to know- oh fine!" Ryder grabs Batten as she picks up a barrel and runs her to a cannon.
"Where we going?" Batten asks as she ends up next to a cannon.
"Shoot this at them." Ryder instructs.
"Aye, aye, Captain!" She leans on the cannon pointing it upwards and fires it without looking, bracing herself from recoil. The Eggforcers and Rusty Rose watch the cannonball move up and down as it flies back towards the ship, alerting Ryder, who groans and says "You have to do everything yourself" before he spin jumps at the ball, bouncing off both of them as it aims towards its target. The ball hopelessly dings off an Eggforcer's head and splashes into the water. The robots communicate briefly before shooting lasers again, causing an explosion on the edge of Angel's Voyage and thus sinking it. Sonic looks at the breach in the ship.
"Oh crap. Sails!" Ryder shouted.
Sails Tails peeps from inside the barrel. Ryder went to him. "Look, buddy, I don't know you, but I know that in 2/3 universes, you're a genius. Though in the third one you were insane, but you aren't here, so I'm hoping that you have some sort of tech needed to fix up the ship?" Ryder urged Sails.
"The only gizmo I need is me contraption and me brains." Sails replied.
"Oh thank you Thank you so much." Ryder sighed in relief.
"Sound the retreat before we're sunk!" Dread commanded as he dove to dodge a laser.
Ryder's Regulators start whirring. It turns out that a Security Drone was scanning their signature. "Shard energy compass calibrated."
"Wait, what?!" Ryder called out to the Security Drone and tried to catch it, but missed. The drone returned to the Council ship and hovered next to Rusty.
"Perfect. We have what we need. This demarks the end of our time together." Rusty Rose declared as the robots started flying. "Vaporize them! Goodbye, Hedgehogs." She locks on to Ryder and Sonic for attack, but as soon as it spots Black Rose, and looks at her instead. The counterpart looks on in shock. Rusty Rose has a shocked look through Black Rose's telescope, before she gasps herself.
"Who is that?" Rusty Rose and Black Rose exclaimed in shock, seeing each other.
Rusty begins to glitch and hesitate before changing her mind. "Wait! Set course, and we will be on our way. No need to waste time destroying a sinking ship." Rusty Rose ordered, causing the robots to land back down.
Rusty Rose's ship departs, while Angel's Voyage continues sinking. Sonic runs to the back of the ship. Catfish falls on his back and slides down the ship.
"Cap'n, we're taking on too much water." Sails tells Ryder while slipping.
"Anyone have any ideas? I've never really sunk before." Ryder asks, worried.
"You think we have? You're the Captain." Batten reminds.
"No, I'm not. But I know someone who is. Where's Dread? And where's Metal?" Batten points out that he's moving out to sea.
"Dread!" Sonic shouted, going in the direction that Batten pointed and saw the duo pirates lowering an escape boat off the Angel's Voyage.
"I don't care what version of Knuckles you are, you don't give up. It's your most annoying virtue. And you, Metal-bone. You're literally me. And the me I know would never ditch his friends just because he's too scared to face something of his past. This Shard is our only hope of finding our home. We need you. Your crew needs you. You're Knuckles The Dread and Metal-Bone Ryder, Captain and First Mate of the Angel's Voyage. Come on!"
"We gave up years ago, Blue! When I wrecked trying to get that shiny rock you're after." Dread replied.
"But we need you!" Ryder urged them.
"No, you don't. If I go back there and face that monster, I'm done for. No point in bringing someone to die." Metal-Bone refused.
"We can still get it. With your captaining, your skills and our speed, you're not gonna wreck on those rocks again, or get crushed by that monster." Sonic urged.
"He is fast... fast enough to get us past them rocks. Maybe the Chaos Monster too."
"We can do it together! And I can get home!
"And I'll finally get me treasure." Dread added.
"And you'll forever be known as the legendary Knuckles the Dread!" Sonic proclaimed.
"Aye. the legendary Knuckles the Dread." Dread affirmed.
"Are you kidding me? Just a few seconds ago you were ready to leave, but now that you're getting something out of it you're just gonna change your mind?" Metal-bone asked with a look.
"This will give us the lives we deserve. And we'll be back to the people we once were." Dread said.
"How do I know it won't end like they did before?"
"Because before we didn't have them." Dread gestured to the hedgehogs at the distance who were looking at them with despair.
"They gave up. They're gone." Sonic said miserably to the crew. "Don't worry, we're gonna be fine. Right, bros?"
"Aye, Cap'n." Black Rose replied, hanging on to the barrel. "Oh, who I be kidding? We're doomed!" she lamented as she fell down.
Ryder turned to Sonic. "Hey, they don't know you. I'm the captain. Let me talk to them." He then took a breath and spoke to his crew. "Ignore what he said guys. We're hosed." He declared.
"Well, looks like we're going down." Sonic said, resigned. Suddenly, Ryder's hat was snatched
"Ha! What kind of talk is that?" Dread shouted as he swung onto a rope and took back his hat. Metal-bone swung next to him.
"We're back! Arr!
"I knew you'd be back, Captain." Batten Rouge said, relieved.
"Batten, Sails, get below, pump up every float you can find." Dread ordered.
"Aye-aye, Captain." Sails replied.
"Rose, Catfish, mend the mast as best ye can, then hoist the main sail." Metal-bone commanded which they obliged.
"I knew you wouldn't abandon your crew. That's the Knuckles I know." Sonic said.
"I may be back, but it ain't for me crew." Dread stated.
Sails Tails hoists the boat by wrapping a long chain of rubber rings around the edges. Sonic dashes back and forth, tossing water from barrels into the sea while Catfish carries a set of boxes. Sonic delivers the floating barrels and boxes form the sea. With Knuckles the Dread watching on, Sails Tails flies down and places planks over the damaged part of the ship, with Sonic giving him a thumbs up. As soon as Sails Tails and Batten Rouge fly to the center and are ready, Dread passes Fairy Lights to him and punches the mast to stand it upright. Batten holds the top of the mast in place while Sails Tails uses the Fairy Lights to wrap around the mast. Ryder, Metal-bone Sonic and Catfish are pulling the mast using the rope. The mast creaks and straightens up, and Angel's Voyage becomes fully afloat and starts moving again.
"Yes, yes! Weird, but yes!" Sonic cheered as Angel's Voyage became fully afloat.
"Whoo-hoo! We did it!" Batten Rouge exclaimed.
"And now the Lighthouse." Dread declared.
"Uh, Cap'n, haven't you always said that the way to the Devil's Lighthouse was... certain death?" Black Rose reminded him.
"That I did. And it is. I've chartered a course in me mind. Don't ye worry, I have a plan. It's going to be legendary." Dread insisted.

New Yoke City, The Yoke HQ
Wrecker Rex was ordered to guard the fox prisoner Nine, while his counterpart is searching for the Shard in the No Place. He manages to maintain a close watch on Nine, and remains silent and still until he hears a psst sound coming from Nine's direction. He looks at him and sees he was calling for him. He tries to ignore but hears it again. "Psst. Rex." Nine called out in a hushed voice. Rex sighed and walked closer to him.
"What do you want, prisoner?" Rex asked.
"Rex, you don't have to do this." Nine implored the cyborg.
"I do. It is the will of my masters." Rex denied.
"It doesn't have to be. They're keeping you prisoner here too. I can get you out of here. All you have to do is cut me loose." He motions to his restraints.
"The only prisoner here is you. Manipulation will grant you nothing, fox." He glared at Nine.
"This isn't manipulation. I'm telling you the truth. The Council is manipulating you. But I can save you. I can take you home." Nine said, referred to the Grim.
"This is my home." Rex tells him.
"But it isn't. It was never your home. This whole city was never our home. But we can leave it. Together." Nine pleaded to his former friend, who looked at him with intrigued eyes. "Rex. You may not remember it, but you're still my brother. And I'm gonna save you." He tells him with a determined face.
Rex was taken aback by the prisoner's words. Brother? That's absurd. He had no relatives. The closest thing to a sibling he could even think of was Rusty, since they were both cyborgs. He wanted to know more. To understand this fox. He takes a step closer with a look on his face that Nine didn't understand, but thought it meant he was going to release him, but instead he begins scanning the fox. "What are you doing?"
"Scanning your DNA for any sign of similarities." He finishes scanning. "There are none. You are not my brother. You are just a rebel who's too smart for his own good. I don't know you. The only reason I even care that you exist is because you defied the Chaos Council and you used me and Rusty as your weapons. I don't care about you... and I will never help you, because I hate you." He said as his eyes turn from blue to red
Nine was shocked to hear those words from Rex's mouth. He just told him he was his brother and now he's telling him this? It was surprising and to be honest... heartbreaking. Part of him wanted to just stop talking... but he had one more thing to ask. "Then why did you help me escape?"
Rex was visually surprised by that accusation. "Excuse me?"
"When I took the Shard your override functions were turning on. You had me where you wanted me and you knocked yourself out. Why?"
"Because you told me to. You must have. You had me being controlled." Rex replied in denial.
"I didn't tell you to do that. I didn't tell you to do anything. You just made yourself a taser and tasered yourself."
"No... I would never defy the will of the Chaos Council. You are trying to trick me."
"I admit I'm not the most trustworthy person... but it's the truth Rex. And even though your mind has forgotten, your body still remembers. Because we're family. Family's forever right? That's what you always told me." Rex just stood there, not sure what to think. This kid just told him that he defied his own programming to save him... and for what? Because he knew him in a past life?
He then shook his head to try to ignore Nine's words. He can't be telling the truth... could he?
"We will reach the asset within the hour." Rex was taken out of his thoughts by the voice of Rusty Rose's hologram.
"Good. We will meet with you after you pick up the package." Dr. Deep tells her, though all he gets is static on her side. "Something's wrong with the connection!" Dr. Deep shouted.
"Oh, for the love of quiche!" Dr. Done-It exclaimed.
"Ah, it doesn't matter. We can communicate across the worlds. Our conquest of the Shatterverse has begun." Dr. Deep stated. Dr. Babble then starts babbling about something only the Council can understand. "Agreed. With our work complete, I'll give our girl-bot the go-ahead on Operation Elimination." Dr. Deep said.
"Eliminating the hedgehogs is a bad idea." Nine scoffs, looking uninterested.
"Arguing for the lives of your friends? What a shock." Mr. Dr. Eggman remarked.
"They left me at your mercy when I needed them most, hardly what you'd call friendly behavior. But you'd be fools to get rid of them before the Shatter Drive technology is perfected." Nine warned.
"It is perfected. We've traveled to another Shatter space." Dr. Done-It scoffed.
"You sent your robots to another Shatter space. Big difference. You've only barely accomplished what they've done without any technology. They are living Shatter batteries." Nine countered with a smirk. The power in the room starts to die out before coming back online. Nine then crawls to them with his robotic tails. "Till we know why they give off this power, we need them alive." He told them before he was grabbed in the head by Rex and zapped by him.
"The rat's right." Dr. Done-it said. 'Wow. Ryder was right, they don't know what animal is what.' "Too many questions for us to start playing exterminator... at least, not until after we wring every ounce of Shatter juice out of those blue varmints." Dr. Done-It said as the Chaos Council laughed.

No Place, Angel's Voyage
Angel's Voyage sails along, with a tornado being created thanks to Ryder and Sonic (Ryder using his shoes) peeling out in a circle, while Dread steers the ship through some rocks, with Flickies passing by. Sails Tails brings out his telescope and looks ahead. Up ahead is a stormy sky, Thorn Rose's hovercraft and more rocks."
"They're slowing down, Cap'n." Sails Tails announces.
Ryder and Sonic stop peeling out and Sonic punches the air in relief. "Yes, they're slowing down."
"Why are they slowing down?" Ryder asked, nervously.
"That be because of the rocks." Dread replies.
Sonic goes right next to him. "As in the ones you wrecked on before?"
The crew show annoyed looks.
"Aye, that be them." Black Rose confirms.
"Danger dead ahead! Danger dead ahead!" Sails Tails warns referring to some dangerous-looking pointed rocks.
"Dread, this is your second chance. You know how to do this-" Sonic encourages but gets interrupted.
"Faster!" Dread commands. Ryder and Sonic return behind the sail and peels out in a circle. "Run as fast as your blue legs can go! You tried to play captain, now see how a legend does it."
He flicks the steering wheel, turning the ship to avoid the rocks.
"After today, everyone will know the name Knuckles The Dread, and marvel. I said faster!" Knuckles the Dread proclaims.
The ship moves faster, but it is heading towards a Green Hill colored ramp.]
"Batten, keep us steady. Hold on to your shoelaces!" Knuckles the Dread tells Batten Rouge.
He jumps to the back of the boat and punches it, levering it to avoid the ship crashing into the ramp. It ascends up the ramp with a great height. In slow motion, Angel's Voyage flies over Rusty Rose's hovercraft and lands safely in the water again. Suddenly, the sails completely come off their ship.
"No, me sails!" Knuckles the Dread exclaims.
The ship spins around and comes to a stop.
"Curses!" Knuckles the Dread growls.
An angry Knuckles the Dread runs to the front of the ship, but is stopped by a complimentary Sonic.
"That was incredible!" Sonic praises.
"Aye, it was!
"Um, as thrilling as it was, don't we have some sails to worry about?" Ryder points out.
"Aye. But not to worry too much. We have a new way of sailing." Metal-bone said before he passes the rope to Sonic, forcing him to look up ahead. There is nothing but sea and pointed rocks.
"Oh, this is bad." Sonic says, defeated.
"You're gonna use your special shoes and tow us, or we're gonna wreck on those rocks." Knuckles the Dread orders.
"Huh, tough choice." Sonic responds.
"No choice at all." Dread insists.
"Aren't you gonna give me one?" Ryder asks.
"There are no ropes left, lad. Besides, we need you to defend the ship from the monster." Metal-bone reminds him.
"Right. Godspeed, Sonic." He offers a hand in luck which Sonic accepts.
"Same to you buddy." Sonic said before Dread tosses him up in the air, causing him to yell and splash in the water. He is then seen pinching his nose and above water. He looks down at his body, revealing that his new shoes are over the water.
"Uh... huh?" Sonic says, confused. Behind him, he notices the enemy ship passing Angels Voyage, leaving the rest of the crew scared.]
"Full speed ahead. Now!" Rusty Rose commands.
Sonic sees the hovercraft moving and getting away. "I don't lose races, especially not at the finish line!"
Sonic starts pulling the rope on the ship and runs to a peel out. "Come on, come on, come on, come on!"
With a big strain, Angel Voyage finally gets going again. But the ship shakes, causing Sails to fall off the top of the mast and everybody else to slide along the ship. Knuckles the Dread catches the falling Sails Tails.
"Well, I'll be a salty sea dog." Knuckles the Dread exclaims.
Angel's Voyage moves at full speed. The crew cheer.
"Get to ye battle stations!" Dread commands.
"Yes!" Batten Rouge replies.
They cheer again as they make their way to their battle stations. Sails Tails plays his guitar while Sonic tows the ship towards the enemy's ship. A target locks on to Sonic and beeps.
"The hedgehog is unaware of the full capabilities of this ship." Rusty Rose notes.
She types a few keys on the keypad and pushes a red button. Laser guns pop out from the sides of the ship.]
"Arr, that's not good." Sails Tails remarks.
The laser guns start firing. Sonic yelps while lasers hit him and bounce off.]
"Lasers!" Sonic jumps over a laser and groans. "I hate lasers!" Sonic exclaims.
"They're going for Sonic!" Batten Rouge warns Dread.
"Man the cannons! Give 'em everything we've got." Metal-bone orders.
"Charge!" Black Rose shouts.
Batten Rouge, Black Rose, Ryder, and Catfish load up their cannons, but the ship gets hit and tilts port-side.
"Cap'n, we can't take many more hits like that." Sails informs.
"She'll hold. Return fire!" Dread commands.
They fire their cannon. Two cannonballs and a sea dog are launched in the air, in front of the viewers. The crew look at each other confused, only for Catfish to be having a sea dog in his possession. While the lasers continue firing, a target system locks on to some rocks and destroys them. It then zooms in on the flying Sea Dog and triggers the Eggforcer's warning alert, flashing red. The robot slips on the slippery mess of the Sea Dog and falls into the sea. The crew cheered at Catfish.
"My God. It's so dumb but so smart at the same time!" Ryder said excitedly.
"Catfish, you beauty! Again!" Knuckles the Dread cheers.
A barrel of sea dogs is opened up. The crew put their sea dogs into the cannon.
"Fire!" Knuckles the Dread commands.
The sea dogs are launched onto the enemy ship's floor, causing another Eggforcer to slide off. Sonic then sees the glowing shard up ahead, becoming excited.
"The Shard!" Sonic shouts. He peels out faster, while on the ship, the last barrel of sea dogs opens up.
"Last case of sea dogs, Dread." Ryder reports.
"Make 'em count." Dread instructs.
They place the sea dogs inside the cannon while dodging laser-fire. "Fire!" Batten Rouge calls.
Four sea dogs are deployed to the enemy's board, including one by Rusty Rose's feet aimed by Ryder. The Eggforcers slide and are knocked off.
"Whoo-hoo!" Black Rose and Batten Rouge cheer.
"Yes." Catfish adds.
"Oh yeah!" Ryder said.
Rusty Rose slides on the sea dog and knocks herself onto the keypad buttons. Their hovercraft moves out of control. Rusty slides off the top of the ship and bounces into the water. Sonic propels the ship forward while the rest of the crew sense danger as Angel's Voyage closes in on a collision with Rusty Rose's ship.
"Watch out!" Batten Rouge warns.
The crew run away from starboard side as the two ships collide. Dread takes emergency action and jumps to the front of the ship where Sonic is.
"Heave to and prepare to be boarded!" He commands.
"Board?" Sonic asks, confused. "Not without me." Sonic replies, annoyed. He returns to the ship, while Eggforcers continue firing lasers. Dread, Ryder and Metal-bone jump onto the enemy's ship and take out all the Eggforcers with their swords and spin-dashes.
"And that's the last of ye scalawags. Come on, ye cowards, she's all clear!" Knuckles the Dread declares.
Rusty Rose extends her limbs, making her way back to her ship and rejuvenates the Eggforcers, surrounding the trio. With nowhere to go, the robots point their tasers at them.
"Okay, not yet, but... good first try Dread. Now watch the real experts at work. Sonic!" Ryder calls out.
With Rusty Rose also watching, Sonic Spin-Jumps in to ally the three, preparing for combat.
"You dare attack us?" Rusty Rose challenges.
"You don't know the half of it." Sonic jokes.
He spins around Knuckles the Dread, and pin balls into the Eggforcers, breaking them all, to Rusty Rose's annoyance. Sonic lands and confronts Rusty Rose with broken robot parts everywhere, causing her to growl in anger. The crew all cheer and join in with Sonic and their Cap'n, while Rusty Rose returns with more Eggforcers and prepares for combat.
"Charge!" Batten Rouge orders.
The whole crew war-cry and engage in battle with Eggforcers, while Ryder battles Rusty Rose. Batten Rouge flies and lures her firing Eggforcer in between the ships before flying back to an open area. She swipes the Eggforcer's arm off with her sword and swipes it on the head. Sails Tails steals the Eggforcer's taser and electrocutes it with its own weapon, knocking it down. Sonic and Sails Tails attack and knock out more robots. Metal-bone flipped over an Eggforcer and took its taser and electrocutes it out of commission. He then throws it at the legs of another and knocks it down. Ryder drops a spin-dash on it and uses its limbs as weapons when he fights two more, by wrapping the arm around the legs and stabbing the other into the chest of the second Eggforcer.
"Enough of this. Squad three, get the Shard," Rusty ordered. She pushes the red button. Knuckles the Dread watches on as another squad of Eggforcers go after the glowing shard in the distance.
"Sonic, Ryder go! They're after the treasure," Dread urged.
"No, you go. We'll hold them off here," Sonic replied, after defeating more robots. Another Eggforcer goes face-to-face with Knuckles the Dread, but the Cap'n goes in behind and chops its leg off. He runs to the front of the ship, but before he can reach it, there is a rumble on the ground.
"What's happening?" Ryder asks.
"...it's here." Metal-bone said with a foreboding tone as he clenches his fist at his sword.
"It? As in the monster that destroyed half of your body? That it?" Ryder asked nervously.
"Get ready." He warns as a wave of water gets closer to them. Suddenly, the wave becomes a tentacle and grabs on to a boulder. It throws it at Metal-bone, who is frozen in fear, but is stopped when Ryder uses a spin-dash on it.
"If you're gonna go Dread. You gotta go now." Ryder tells him.
"Blast. I don't think I can make it. It's too far!" Knuckles the Dread exclaimed.
"Can't make it? Too far?" Sonic said, grabbing the Cap'n's suit. [Lets go of him] "Hey, remember when you threw me off the ship?"
"Aye," Knuckles the Dread replied.
"Well, you need to learn how to spin, my friend," Sonic declared. Sonic tosses Knuckles the Dread into the air. While gliding, the Cap'n spins and knocks out all the Eggforcers in a zig-zag.
"Do not let him get away. After him," Rusty Rose commanded. She deploys three more Eggforcers. They pursue Dread, but two of them get struck by a tentacle. "What is this beast?"
"It's the Devil's beast. The guardian of the Devil's Lighthouse. When one seeks the gem, they must take on the beast first, if they hope to prevail. That is... if they survive." Metal-bone explains.
"Then I guess it's test time. Diaper up." Ryder said before turning to Sonic. "You handle Rusty. This is my fight." He receives a nod. "Ready for this?"
Metal-bone chuckles. "Ha. Never." He said but raised his sword anyway.
"Then let's spin." He grabs and tosses his doppelganger, who on instinct, spin dashes to the rocks at the distance, causing him to bounce from rock to rock with Ryder following.
Eventually, their bounces come to a stop and they stand on the top of a tall rock. "Alright, time to face this monster, slay it, and get the treasure once and for all." Metal-bone declared.
"Aye-aye, first mate." Ryder agreed as the monster roared. It then rose from the water like a towering mountain before revealing itself to them.
Ryder furrows his eyebrows. "Wait, is that Perfect Chaos?"
"You know it?" Metal-bone asked.
"Yeah. I've fought it before. It's a creature born of the Chaos Emeralds. Though it usually reaches this state when it gets all seven, but I don't even see one. There's only one way to defeat it. You aim for the crown." He points to the crystal on top of Chaos.
"Very well. I will personally slice this kraken down to size for what it did to me!" Metal-Bone then jumped at Chaos only to get swiped by a tentacle right back where he started.
"Okay, new plan. Step one: Light taunting. Step two: I have no idea." Ryder is then about to run at it but a tentacle is near him, but before it intercepts, Metal-Bone slices the water in half before it reaches. Unfortunately, it has little effect, as it heals itself. "Okay, this is gonna be harder than I thought."
Ryder then jumps off the rock and to the water. He then starts running towards the monster. It launches its large water tentacles at it, but Ryder tries his best to dodge. He then jumps, flips, and taps his shoes to enhance his power and allow him to peel. He then runs inside a tentacle and swims a bit before creating a spin-dash in place. He stays like that for a moment before bubbles start to appear and then he moves through the tentacle, to the main body, then up until he hits the crystal.
Chaos roared in pain as he recoiled backwards and Ryder was expelled from the body and landed next to Metal-bone, exhausted. "Oh, man. I'm not supposed to use these things so many times a day. I need a moment." He struggles to find his breath, and as he does, Metal-Bone looks at the core that was struck by Ryder and does something he hasn't done in a long time... smirk.
"No need. Take your time. I'll handle this." He then separates himself from Ryder by jumping to another rock. "Hey, tall dark and ugly. Over here!" He signals to Chaos who gets angry and sends a water twister his way. He jumps to the side of another rock. He kept doing this as Chaos kept destroying every rock he stepped on. He then jumps up and uses a spin-dash for thrust, and runs up a rock before jumping off it and enters the monsters mouth, and before it can swallow him, he climbs outside of it and lands on top of its head before jumping and hitting the core once again, causing it to recoil in pain. He lands on the remaining rock, feeling more alive than he has in years. Just knowing how vulnerable it is has given him strength.
Ryder chuckles from his tired position. "Wow. He really is me."
Chaos roars and raises a bunch of rocks in from of Metal-bone, who takes it as a challenge.
"You want me to come to you? Fine! Come and get it!" He jumps through the path of rocks as they go higher and higher, slowly. He uses his spin-dash for thrust again to speed up the process, and ends up four platforms closer than before. He jumps up and before he can reach the final platform, it gets crushed by the tentacle of Chaos. The same tentacle was about to grab Metal-bone, and with no way of dodging while mid-air, he was done for. However a speeding blur was able to intercept the water tentacle, and slice it. It turned out to be Prism Ryder (that's what he calls his form in his head,) who managed to kick the water with spectacular speeds. He then grabbed Metal-bone's leg and threw him at the monster. Metal-bone draws his sword and aims it at the ever-closing crystal. "Goodbye, scourge." He said before stabbing the crystal of Chaos which shatters into pieces. Chaos roars in defeat as it starts to collapse into normal water and sink to the bottom of the ocean. Normally, this would be good, but now they're about to fall into the water. As they fall, Ryder looks up and notices a remnant of Chaos's crystal. Something of great importance.
It was the Dark Blue Chaos Emerald. It must've been the thing powering Chaos. Not only does that explain Chaos, but it might just be the thing that can save us. If Ryder uses Chaos control, they can teleport to safety. Ryder sky-swims towards it in a seemingly futile way. But, just five seconds to impact, Ryder catches it and grabs Metal-bone. "Chaos Control!" Ryder yells as he and Metal-bone were instantly transported to the Angel's Voyage. They slide across the deck. "Yes!" Ryder jumps up in excitement. "We're alive."
"Indeed. My body is now avenged." Metal- bone said with a victorious smile before seeing the gem in Ryder's hand. "Wait, what's that?" He asks as he points to it.
Ryder stares at the Chaos Emerald and smiles at it. "My treasure." He said as he put it in his bag as lightning crackles in his view.
"Dread, he got the Shard!" Sonic exclaims. Another swarm of Eggforcers flies above him and heads towards the shard, cutting short his excitement. "He's gonna need some backup," he adds. Sonic turns to the crew. "We'll go get him. Be right back. Ryder, come on."
"Right!"
And with that the Hedgehogs set off, while Black Rose and Rusty Rose stare at each other in shock.
"You," they say in unison.
"Do it just be me, or does she look a little like you?" Batten Rouge wonders.
"Maybe we should tie her up," Sails suggests.
Rusty Rose drops her arms while Batten Rouge and Black Rose nod in agreement.
Ryder, still in his Prism form peels out along with Sonic along the sea towards the shard, while Dread watches out for Eggforcers while he tries to protect the shard.
"No, she's mine. Mine!" he shouts.
He dodges an Eggforcer body attack and makes a run for it with the shard, ducking to dodge another Eggforcer, while intercepting another two with a punch, followed by a homing attack. With Knuckles distracted, the Eggforcer tries to snatch the shard away from him. Lightning crackles, while Sonic notices what's going on and peels out as fast as he can. Meanwhile, after a moment, Knuckles pulls the shard away from the Eggforcer's grab and kicks it, sending it into the whirlwind. Lightning strikes again, hitting him, causing him to scream and fall off the mountain while still holding the shard.
"Dread!" Sonic calls out.
They peel out as fast as possible towards the shard, but a hologram of Shadow the Hedgehog appears through their auras.
"Sonic, Ryder," Shadow says.
Ignoring Shadow, Sonic catches Dread and saves him.
"Got ya," Sonic reassures him.
In slow motion, the shard is free from Dread's grasp. Sonic is pulled in by the shard. Ryder then tries to catch it. "I got it." He then catches it and starts to get pulled in too. "Oh. Right." He then disappears as well. The storm clouds clear and Dread celebrates and laughs as the shard belongs to him.

The Void
Sonic and Ryder scream as they fall into the Void. Shadow kicks a glass asteroid, which hits their backs. Ryder groans, rubs his head.
"Lucky, that rock was right there right Sonic?" Ryder said, but received no response. "Sonic?" He then looks at Sonic's direction and notices him looking at something. He follows his line of vision and sees Shadow the Hedgehog, standing before them.
"Shadow? Ugh! I don't have time to deal with whoever you are. I just wanna go home," Sonic groans.
"Home? Home doesn't exist anymore... because of you!" Shadow tells him.
With the duo trapped, Shadow dives at them with a clenched fist, causing them to yell in cautiousness.
