Chapter 90
Lesley continued: [Lovey Princess is just a lowâbudget web series. I thought I would definitely get the part, but do you know what happened?]
[After our auditions, we saw Ms. Fox picking up Becky. Everyone was speculating that Becky is the new artist Ms. Fox is currently mentoring.]
[Also, both Annie and I received our audition results for the lead role in Lovey Princess today. We both failed.]
[Annie thinks the lead role definitely went to Becky. She said it might be because Ms. Fox pulled some strings to secure the role for Becky.]
âLynn Fox?â Janet and Lisa both saw the message, and their faces darkened almost simultaneously.
Lisa scoffed, âNo way. Lynnâs not mentoring anyone new, especially not someone like Rebecca. Sheâs way too old. By the time she gets famous, sheâll be past her prime. This industry is all about youth. Lynn wouldnât be dumb enough to waste her
time on Rebecca
Janet sneered, âThatâs not up to you. Figure it out. I want answers today.â
Lisaâs expression changed, and she quickly agreed, âOkayâ
She took the phone and hurried off.
If Lynn were actually mentoring someone new, it would be huge news. Unless she was keeping it a secret, it wouldnât take much to find out the truth.
Lisa spent half the day digging around and returned that afternoon with her findings.
âItâs true,â she reported to Janet. âLynnâs got a new protégé, and her name is Becky.â
Janet exploded, smashing everything in the dressing room. Cosmetics, mirrors⦠Everything shattered to pieces.
Lisa hid by the door, afraid of being hit.
But still, Janet grabbed her and slapped her hard across the face
Lisa, not one for fighting, was stunned. It wasnât until her cheek burned with pain that she realized what had happened.
Janet had hit her?
What did Janet think she was, a punching bag?
Lisa wanted to lash out, but seeing the fury in Janetâs eyes, she held back.
She couldnât afford to lose Janet. As long as Janet kept landing roles, Lisa would keep getting those fat bonus checks. If she crossed Janet, sheâd return to square one. And besidesâ¦.
Becoming a movie queen wasnât Just about talent. It was about connections and luck. And if they didnât have those, well, they needed money.
Lisa was well aware that she wasnât like Lynn, who navigated the entertainment industry with ease with every connection she needed.

Chapter 90
Sheâd managed to make Janet a movie star, mostly because Janet parents were willing to spend money. Theyâd invested heavily, pulled strings, and snagged topânotch scripts for Janet, allowing her to rise to fame.
Janet was angry now because she had been so unlucky lately!
After going through the ordeal of childbirth, sheâd assumed the child was Theodoreâs. Sheâd been convinced that once Theodore divorced Rebecca, she could step into Rebeccaâs shoes and become the lady of the Theodore family.
But things hadnât gone as planned.
A few days ago, Janet had taken the child for a paternity test. The results confirmed that while the child was hers, there was no biological link to Theodore.
Janet couldnât accept it. Sheâd secretly taken the child to Rainbow City for another paternity test, hoping for a different outcome. But the results remained the same.
The child was indeed her own, but it was certainly not Theodores
Janet still refused to believe it. She continued to take the child to different places for paternity tests.
No matter how she tested, the results were always the same.
Janet went completely mad.
Eventually, she couldnât hold back and called Theodore, and thenâ¦Theodore told her the truth.
That night, Janet ditched the baby. They drove to a desolate area and after checking that there were no cameras nearby, she just left the baby there.
Back in the car, they started the drive back to Macloria.
However, on the way back to Maeloria, Lisa couldnât suppress the consciences she had left. Without Janetâs knowledge, she contacted a friend overseas and asked them to anonymously report an orphan baby to the police officer using a foreign IP.
She just hoped that the child could survive.
After returning to Maeloria, Janet seemed like a completely different person. She never mentioned Theodore or anyone from the Edwards family again. She couldnât even Stand hearing the word âEdâ.
The mere sound of the name âEdâ was enough to make her face turn livid.
She had thrown herself into her work, meticulously choosing scripts.
However, the anger she had suppressed finally exploded today.
News of Rebeccaâs flourishing career was like acid, burning through her composure and driving her to the brink of madness.
In a fit of rage, she tore through the lounge, smashing anything she could get her hands on.
After venting her rage, Janet turned to Lisa and suddenly slapped her hard across the face again.
Lisa was caught off guard. She felt a burning pain as her face was slapped to the side.
She couldnât believe it. Janet actually hit her again?

.
âWhy? Why does Rebecca get to debut with a top agent like Lynn, while Iâm stuck with you, such trash?â Janetâs eyes were bloodshot as she glared at Lisa, shouting in frustration.
Everyone was born equal.
Lisa could tolerate it the first time but not the second!
âYou think youâre so good?â she snapped back in frustration. âIf youâre so great, why donât you just do what Rebecca did? Find yourself a sugar daddy to bankroll your career! Iâm sure theyâll get you the best agent, the best resources, and shoot you straight to the top!â
But as soon as the words came out, Lisa realized sheâd gone too far.
Panic set second.â
in as she quickly looked down and mumbled, Janet⦠Im so sorry, I shouldnât have said that. I just lost it for a
Regaining her composure, she quickly comforted Janet. âJanet, youâre actually amazing. Youâve always worked hard and made it on your own. Rebecca only got where she is because of Charlie. Without him, she wouldnât be able to compete with
you.
Janet looked at Lisa, murmuring, âCharlie?â
Lisa nodded eagerly. âYes, Charlie! Janet, donât you see? Rebeccaâs success is all thanks to him. I bet even that collaboration with Lynn was Charlieâs doing. Thereâs no way Rebecca could have pulled that off on her own.â
