Once I was inside I started to jump up and down out of excitement. I didn't realize mom was sitting on the couch watching TV. She always follows The Good Doctor series because she liked it so much.

"Mom am home." I said entering where my mom was.

“Hey sweetheart, today you are late. Was the restaurant that busy again today?” She said as I went to her and kissed both her cheeks.

“No mommy it was not that busy, but mom guess what?” I said excitedly.

She look concerned “Baby you know am not good at guessing so just spill it out.”

“OK mom, get ready. A boy asked me out to..” She didn’t let me finish the statement.

She started with her billion questions “Is he cute, do you go to the same collage, is he from this town, is he…” I could not let her finish.

“Mom it’s just a date yes he is really cute, no he is handsome, he is done schooling and actually I don’t know where he comes from. I never really asked him.” She hugged me tightly and made me regret why I told her.

Then there were tears in her said, “Am so happy that my baby is now going to go on her first date. Have you decided what you are going to wear. I think tomorrow you should skip school so we can go shopping.”

“Mom am not skipping school and he told me to wear something casual. We are not going to go in a 5 star hotel mom but I think and home that it will be something simple.” She stared at me and I knew she will disapprove anything that I will want to wear for the date.

“Mom am heading to bed now, see you tomorrow. Goodnight.” I was already on my feet and was heading to the stairs.

“Goodnight too baby doll. Love you so much.” She said to me.

I went to my room then hurried to the bathroom for a quick shower. After I had showered I wrapped a towel around my body and went to the closet. I took a baggy shirt that reached my knees and my sleeping short I pulled then on without an underwear and got to bed.

My mind drifted to the events of earlier tonight and Tyler’s face appeared in my thoughts. I don’t know when I fell asleep but I fell asleep dreaming about Tyler with a smile in my face. I was so happy for the first time in my life.

The following morning I woke up even before my alarm went off. I prepared myself as fast as I could, took my bag and laptop and went to the kitchen. Mom was not there yet so I prepared some breakfast which consist of toast, eggs and bacon. I always like some fruits so I added some on the table.

“Oh my gosh, look who has prepared breakfast today. Firstly why are you up early.” She said kissing my cheek.

“Today I have decided to surprise you.” I lied to her because I just wanted today to fast so that I can meet up with Tyler for our date.

Mom sensed something “Is this all about the date with your boyfriend.”

“No no no and he is not my boyfriend.” I sat down at the table beside her and took my cup of tea.

“Not yet but I bet by the end of today you will be her girlfriend.” I just laughed and finished my breakfast because it was already time for school. I said my goodbye to her then I left. When I got outside Abby was already pulling over and she was somehow shocked.

“Today you are early, that’s a record.” And I knew she was mocking me.

We drove to school as she was telling me how her date went last night. My mind drifted of and I started to wonder where Tyler will take me or if my mom was right that he was going to ask me to be her girlfriend.

“Hey are you even listening to me.” She ask angrily.

“Am sorry but am going for a date tonight.” Oh my gosh she said showing how excited she was, “and please remember you are driving so just look at the road before you kill us.”

She drove without saying anything but the moment we reached the college parking area I knew she will ask a million questions so I talked first before she did, “We met yesterday at the restaurant, his name is Tyler he walked me home and he asked me for a date today, he told me he liked me and he kissed..”

I was cut already, “He kissed you?”

If only you could let me finish, yes he kissed me but only on the cheek.”

“That’s still a kiss to me. Baby girl we are going shopping after school, I don’t want you to go out in your funeral clothes that you own in that closet of yours.”

“Ok, but has to be casual and no heels that what Tyler told me. Can we go to class now we are already late.

The day went on slowly, but I knew it was because of the date. When we finished the last class we went to the mall in town and did our shopping. We were at the mall for almost like 2 hours because that crazy friend of mine wanted me to try out ever piece of clothing in the store.

After we finished she drove me home but left the instructions on what I was going to wear, my make up and the shoes. After she said her goodbye she left and immediately I went to my bathroom at took a quick shower.Went to my room and prepared myself.

Around 6.40 pm I was ready and waiting for my man so we can get this date over and done with. I was nervous my hands seemed like they were shaking. Mom entered my room and her eyes grew bigger.

“Oh baby you look gorgeous, my baby has really grown. I hope everything turns out good tonight for you. Am so happy for you.”

Just then we heard the doorbell, “It’s time mom, see you later. Love you.”

“Love you too.”

I went and open the door and for sure my heart skipped a bit. He wore a black jeans a tight T-shirt that showed his abs well and a black leather that was open. He offered his hand and I stepped out to the cool breeze of the night. I felt the jolt of electricity again when our has touched and by that I knew I was in trouble of falling in love with him.
