Our heroes left the village soon after. Many villagers woke early just to see them off and thank them one more time. They truly were heroes to them. Standing a bit taller, with a smile on their faces they left the village.
âSo Ben,â Seth grinned at his friend. âI think you actually managed to show a few villagers that necromancers arenât completely evil.â
âI know!â Ben danced on the road. âBut,â he stopped himself. âWe couldnât do it without Ola.â
âGuysâ¦â Ola blushed, but soon the grin spread over her face too. âI just saved your useless asses, thatâs all. Just donât get yourself trapped by an evil witch next time please. I have other stuff to do, other than saving you two.â
âWe had it perfectly under control for your information.â Seth shot back, still grinning.
âI am sure,â Ola stuck out her tongue. âButâ¦â she hesitated. âWhat was really going on there? Was Vinia a necromancer like you, Ben?â

But Ben just shook his head. âShe wasnât a necromancer, not even a mage from what I could tell. All her power over the ghosts came from the skull.â
âDid some necromancer make that?â Seth asked.
Ben was quiet for a bit, before continuing: âI canât think of anyone else. Someone who knew a lot about death, thatâs for sure. When I inspected it, it seemed to be mainly for collecting the energy and storing it. Controlling ghosts was just a side effectâ¦â
âSoâ¦â Ola said. âWe probably have an evilâ excuse me, Benââ she grinned at him apologetically. âActually an evil necromancer running aroundâ¦â
âSeems that way, â Ben shrugged.
They were quiet for a while, each lost in their own thoughts. Then they started talking again, about something and nothing at the same time, as friends often do. Their first real adventure was behind them. Ben smiled to himself, looking up at the morning sky.
âWhat are you grinning at?â Ola jibbed.
âNothing,â Ben said, but kept grinning. âLetâs go find ourselves a new adventure.â He said, stretching his arms.
âI sure hope the next one will make us some money,â Ola mumbled as they all laughed on their way forward.
