Velociraptor's POV.
I feel horrible.
I had the dream yet again last night, but after I woke up from it, I couldn't sleep at all. I've just been laying in the bushes, covering my head with my arms to try and block out the sun and noise coming from the direction of the Lavatories. It isn't working.
Finally giving up on the concept of sleep, I force myself to my feet to check out the noise.
Once I reach the Lavatories, I look around to see many of the contestants playing with toys that I've never seen before. Looks quite fun actually. I start to walk down to join the fun when a bunch of people yell Loser's name. Glancing to my left, and indeed, Loser is there.
Trotting on over, I hear Loser say something but I don't make it out. Standing next to the others, I hear Fanny say, "Loser, these toys where just invented. You said you used to play with them, an hour ago they didn't exist. They weren't invented yet. You couldn't have been playing with them if they didn't exist! THAT IS A LIE! You lied to us Loser! Why did you do that?! Why did you intentionally tell us something that was made up?! WHY DID YOU LIE TO US, LOSER?!"
Silence. For once, complete silence.
(Time skip)
Loser was eliminated with 12,062 votes, which totally shocked me. I just.... don't understand. At least that awful contest is over. I mean, our team was already small enough, but now that Balloony is dead, with no one to recover him, it's even worse. Can't forget the threat of Evil Leafy getting ready to kill everyone though, which certainly doesn't make things better.
The moon is rising now, and with most asleep, I think it's safe for me to pay a visit to Leafy. Moving past the Goiky River, where I just washed the orange coloring out of my fur, I take the path to Yoyleland.
Once I reach Yoyle city, I stop for a second to admire the view. The moonlight gleaming off the windows, despite being long abandoned, was gorgeous. Well, I need to find Leafy now.
"Leafy! You here?" I yell. After calling out a few more times, I saw some bushes moving, and out of them came Leafy.
"Oh! Hey Velociraptor!" She greets me.
I walk over to her. "Hey. Just wanted to visit and see if we can find a way to stop Evil Leafy and stuff. I also just kinda wanted a small break from the competition, you know?"
She nods. "I get that. But also you look really, really tired." She replies.
I yawn. "Yeah. I had a sleepless night and the challenge was exhausting."
"Well, I have cleared out this house here for me to live in," She says, pointing to a house by my left, "You wanna go inside and talk there?" She offers me.
"Oh, sure!" I say happily, following Leafy into the house.
As I step in though the door, I'm surprised at how nice it is. This seems like a decently pricey place. I mean, the kitchen has marble counter tops, as well as electricity, although I'm not sure how Leafy managed to get it up and running, as the city has been abandoned a long time.
And as if Leafy knew my thoughts, she said, "Your surprised at how nice at is, I see. I was surprised too when I first found this house, especially since there wasn't any mold growth or rotting wood." She tells me as she walks over to the counter, sitting down on a stool.
I followed her and sat down on a stool beside her. "Find out anything useful?" I ask. Leafy shakes her head. "I do keep having this strange dream though. With the same message every time: Be careful which path you take, and remember, even the greatest foes can be defeated by water." She says.
I look at her in shock. "I've had the exact same dream!" I exclaim.
Leafy looks at me and sighs. "That's.... really interesting that your having the same dream." I do think I know what part of the message means. So, you know how my sister, Evil Leafy, has powers?"
I nod.
"Well, I don't know why, but if she touches water, she'll lose her powers until she's dried off." Leafy tells me.
That's.... really interesting. I'll have to keep that in mind.
Before I can say anything else, Leafy stands up "You want a snack or something?" She asks me. Only then do I realize how hungry I am.
"Sure! Got any kind of meat?" She shakes her head. "Nope, sadly. It'd be long spoiled. I do have other things such as honey, yoyle berries and some non perishable canned food." She says.
"Hmm. Honey sounds good." I decide.
"Alright." Leafy stands up and opens a cabinet. "You won't believe how many honey jars I've found in yoyle city, which is great since honey lasts pretty much forever." She pulls out 2 jars. "You want it with or without the honeycomb?"
"With honeycomb." I reply. Leafy tosses me the jar with the honey and honeycomb. I catch it with my arms and pry off the lid with my left foots sickle claw.
With the lid off, I stick my jaws into the jar and start eating the honey and honeycomb. Man, this is good!
Finishing the honey, I pull my jaws out of the jar and lick them off.
I look at Leafy. "You know, I think i'd be smart for us to meet once every week, to plan to try and stop evil Leafy. Maybe starting today?" I ask her.
"Sounds good to me!" Leafy replies, walking over to the couch. "You want to see something cool?" She asks.
"Sure!" I say, walking over to the couch.
Leafy flips a switch on the side of the couch. "It has heaters installed in it, and they still work!" She explains to me.
"No way." I reply. But within a few minutes, the couch started to get warm.
"This must've been a luxurious place to live, before it was abandoned." I commented to Leafy.
"Must've been." Leafy replied, getting up to get a glass of water.
I flopped down onto my side. Man, I'm tried. But I don't want to sleep yet..... and before I knew it, I fell asleep.
Leafy's POV.
Returning to the couch with my glass of water, I asked Velociraptor, "So what's going on with the com-" I stopped talking when I realized she had fallen asleep. Sigh. I knew she looked exhausted when she showed up. I pick up a blanket on the floor and put it next to her on the couch. Speaking of sleeping, I lie down in my sleeping back in the kitchen as I need to rest to.
Velociraptor's POV.
The sound of rushing water fades as I open my eyes from the same ominous dream, and I realize that I fell asleep. Crap. I look up to see that it's morning and that Leafy is cooking some canned beans.
She notices me. "Oh hey, your awake! I didn't want to wake you since you where so out of it." She explains. "So what's up with the competition?"
I sit up. "Well, my team went up for elimination for the second time." I tell her. I then proceed to explain about what happened to Four and X.
"So no one is able recover? That sounds awful." She says, then looking at a clock. "Oh wow! You really need to go." I walk over and look at the clock. She's right, it's already 11:00 am! Yet I don't want to go, but I know I have to.
"Oh goodness, your right! I really do have to go! See you next week!" I say as I open the door and start running to the bfb grounds.
"See you then to!" I hear her call after me.
(Time skip to a little after Questions answered)
I'm down at the Goiky River despite the sun not having set yet. I just wanted to admire the scenery, I guess.
Leaning down to drink a bit of the water, I only just notice the shadow beside me. Quickly looking towards it, it's a...... grizzly bear cub?! Wait.... that means the mother can't be far. I see a much larger shadow looming over me, and I don't need to even think about it to know it's the mom.
Setting into a panic, I make an attempt to run for it, but before I can, the bear swipes me in the face, sending me crashing into the small cliff. I yelp in pain from the scratches on my face and from a sudden crack in my left arm. To my horror I realize it must be broken; this is really, really bad.
The bear roars and charges, and while I once attempt to get away, I can't. It grabs me by the base of my tail and shakes me violently from side to side. Finally, it drops me, and glares down at me, ready to kill. But before it does, I hear someone yell, "HEY BEAR!"
I don't remember what happened next, because I passed out from shock, pain and blood loss. But when I woke up, I was in what seemed to be.... a factory?
Noticing movement, I lifted my head slightly, before somebody said "Take it easy, raptor. You just got attacked by a bear." I blink a few times to clear my vision and see Golf Ball.
"Also, before you ask, I'm NOT taking care of you while your injured because I want to. I'm only taking care of you because Donut said I have to." She spat at me, clearly unhappy about me being wherever this is.
As she started to walk away, I called after her. "Wait, Golf Ball, could you tell me where we are?" I asked her.
She didn't turn around but said, "My underground factory, of course." She then resumed walking away.
I sighed and laid my head back down, closing my eyes. One things for sure, the next weeks won't be easy. But it gets worse, as I later woke up from the same dream with the same message, which can only mean one thing: The grizzly bear attack wasn't the thing the dream was warning about. Something worse is going to happen, but I don't know when.
