After only fifteen minutes of resting, we continued to walk until we came upon a waterfall. The sight was amazing and beautiful.

The water that flowed down from high rocks to the pond down below, looked heavenly. The sound of the rushing water was loud, as it rushed down and splashed on the rocks below. Thick over-growth showed between the rocks, that was on both sides of the rushing water. I would have stopped to admire its gloriousness, if a four hundred pound, man-eating creature wasn't after us.

I tore my eyes away from the waterfall and back in front of me as I walked. Once again, we were back in the woods and surrounded by trees. Suddenly, there was a loud shuffling sound behind us and we all spun around immediately, becoming alert.

"What was that?" Kate asked in a whisper, her eyes peeling the area for the source of the sound.

As soon as she asked the question, a rabbit hopped out from the bushes and ran quickly passed us. We all took noticeable sigh of reliefs.

"I wonder why its in such a hurry." Lance speculated, as the rabbit scurried away. Just as we were beginning to walk again, we heard another noise, louder time. My instincts told me that by the sound, it was definitely not a small animal this time.

As the others and I turned to look behind us a second time, my suspicions were confirmed. I felt my breath knock out of my lungs, as I saw the sharkgator standing between two trees. It stood a few feet away from us and watched us with its dark, brooding eyes. It didn't plan on showing mercy. We all stood still, watching it and not moving.

"Oh my God," Anna whispered under her breath. "How did it catch up to us so fast?"

"It tracked us down." Vincent replied.

No one said anything for a short while. We just stood there not knowing what to do. Finally, Brian spoke. "It doesn't make any sense to run. It will only catch up to us. It is very fast and have only one intention."

"What do you suppose we do then?" I asked, worriedly. I turned to look at him, silently pleading with him to give me an answer. I wish he could tell me something, because I was blank. We had to think of something and we had to think of it fast or within the next minute, we will all be lunch.

Brian looked around him, scanning the area, before he turned back to us. "We have to run as quickly as possible and climb into those trees." He said, inclining his head to where two trees stood beside each other on our right. They had thick branches sticking out and hung high from the ground. The trees weren't far from us, but climbing them quickly would be tricky and prove to be difficult.

However, we had to try, because we didn't have a better option. We nodded our head in agreement to Brian's suggestion. "Okay, by the count of three, we'll all run to both trees." Brian said and then began to instruct us as to who would go to each trees, so it would go more smoothly and not create confusion. "1...2...3. Run!"

Immediately, we all took off running at the speed of light. As soon as we began running, the sharkgator sprang into action and moved towards us. It was ten of us, so five was supposed to go in one tree and five in the other.

I was the last one to go up into my designated tree. Tamika and Mr. Campbell, who was closest to the trunk of the tree, grabbed my hands to help pull me up. However, as luck would have it, I lost my footing and went sliding back to the bottom and unto the ground. My eyes widen and my heart leap into my throat, when I saw the sharkgator a few feet away from me. Being this close to it, I can see how truly big it was.

"Oh God, Allison!" I heard Tamika shout.

However, all my focus was on the sharkgator, as I back away quickly and tried to stand up. However, my efforts seem futile as the creature gained on me. I suddenly looked up as I saw Brian came up to the sharkgator, trying to distract it with a thick piece of wood in his hands. I didn't even see when he came out of the tree he was in, because my back was turned.

"Get up and go!" Brian said, without looking at me. He was now hitting the shakgator with the wood, causing it to back up from the hit it was getting. I knew he couldn't hold him back for much long because the sharkgator was too big and powerful to be fazed by the piece of wood.

Without wasting anymore time, I pushed myself to my feet and began climbing the tree again. Tamika and Mr. Campbell grabbed my hands again and this time, I made it up and sat on the branch beside Mr. Campbell. I then looked down at Brian, who was still hitting at the shakgator, with more force. I became worried as I wondered how he was going to get back to the tree, without any help.

I watched as he gave the sharkgator one more hit, harder this time, before throwing the wood away and ran for the tree. The sharkgator was tough, so the hit only dazed him for a few seconds, before he began to chase Brian. Come on, Brian. Come on. I thought to myself as Brian climbed the tree, with the help of Mr. Raglan and Lance. I breathe a sigh of relief, when he finally made it up, just before the sharkgator could grab his foot. The sharkgator knock its body on the tree for a few minutes, before it realized that it was useless.

It decided to walk over to the tree that I was on to try its luck. It rammed the tree with its body, but nothing happened. The tree only shook a little causing a small bag that Mr. Campbell had in his lap to slid off. Luckily, it didn't fall to the ground. The strap of the bag caught a limb below us and hang down. It was easily reachable.

Mr. Campbell waited until the sharkgator gave up its efforts, before retrieving the bag. The sharkgator walked away and disappeared into the bushes. He didn't know if it was really gone, so he waited for a full minute. Afterwards, he leaned down and stretched his hand for the bag.

Suddenly, the sharkgator appeared out of nowhere, from behind the tree that we were in. No one had any time to react, as it leapt and snatch off Mr. Campbell's head, pulling him down.

A blood curling scream escaped my mouth, as blood splashed on my face and clothes.
