Saturday home depot

Said your living room needs a fresh coat

Pick your color blue or white

Whatever it is, gotta set the mood right

Got my hardware let's put in work

Old hat, old jeans, no t-shirt

Before I know it it's all on the floor

'Cause I just wanna do you in the paint

I wanna make love to you in the place

I-I rolling around in the mess that we made

Brushing and stroking the best sex we made

And now I'm putting in your hair

And you're rubbing it on everywhere

I just wanna do you in the paint uh oh

Girl don't be shy I know you ain't

'Cause I just wanna

Sage’s Pov.

It took a while before Grams went home because she stayed for dinner, and she was obsessed with seeing Blaze and I interact.  She just watched us. Like when I went into the kitchen and Blaze’s eyes followed me. She got this goofy smile on her face and said no words. It seemed as if Blaze was showing off for his Grams too, because he was extra flirty with me while she was here.

She only depressed me once when she mentioned the wedding. I choked on my tuna casserole, and Blaze patted on my back with a worried look; this only caused her to beam at us.

“So Sage we’ve been planning the wedding for a while now. Can you believe you’ll be a summer bride?” Her brown eyes were bright and she was practically bouncing in her chair.

I gave her a small smile, and a nervous giggle. “Yeah, I uhm can’t believe it! Never thought I’d get married” I swallowed the rest of my food and pushed it away, not even having an appetite anymore.

“What? Why not? You’re a very beautiful girl, inside and out. Who wouldn’t want to marry you?” I wanted to scream from the top of my lungs obviously not your grandson! But I kept it in; the whole point of the deal was to make her happy. It just showed how much Blaze loved his grandmother.

“Oh, uhm” I coughed. “Well because where I was at in my point in life, it wasn’t ideal for someone else. But I guess Blaze proved me wrong.” I gave her a tight lipped smile and she returned it, yet brighter.

After dinner, little Matthew started to cry, and Aubrey and Mark were passed out cold on the couch. I guess he was a handful; he was still in those crying years. I decided not to wake them and I went to go handle him myself. I walked in and consoled the crying baby sitting on my old bed, looking through the window at the moon that was in direct view.

I heard the door open and I looked over my shoulder to see Blaze step in with a bottle in hand. I smiled and was confused on how he got that.

“Don’t tell me you made it? We’re not trying to poison the baby.” I laughed teasing him because his cooking skills were limited.

He glared at me, “No I didn’t make it; Lana did. And since you are the cook you should teach me how instead of making fun of me.” He finished with an adorable pout. I just wanted to kiss him. I turned away from him immediately to rid myself of those thoughts.

He came over and set on the bed next to me and handed me the bottle. I didn’t give it to Matt yet. I sat it next to me, and glanced over at Blaze. I held the baby out and he hesitantly took him. He looked tense and nervous. I helped him get more comfortable and gave the baby the bottle. His tiny hands tried to wrap around it, in his sleep.

Blaze honestly seemed amazed at the small child; probably from not having any younger siblings, and he never was around children. We heard a knock at the door, and I immediately knew that it definitely wasn’t Aubrey. I let Blaze hold the bottle, keeping it up so that the baby would drink air and turned around to see Grams.

“I just wanted to let you two know that I was leaving.” Then she peaked over at her grandson who was in a trance looking at the kid in his arms. “That’s so adorable. If he’s doing that with his nephew, then just imagine how great of a Father he’d be with you guys’ children!” She squealed. “I love you Blaze, I’ll see you later, bye Sage.”

“I love you too, Grams.” Blaze said softly, but I knew she heard because her face lit up and tears threatened to spill, she retreated out of the room with one final happy look on her face.

When Matthew was asleep and secure with pillows guarding him so he wouldn’t roll off the bed, Blaze and I walked out of the room to go wake up Aubrey and Mark, so they could go in the room to sleep alongside the baby.

Zac and Lana were already gone down to her apartment, so Blaze and I cleaned up the living room and headed to bed.

I awoke the same way I have been for 7 months, to Blazes slow breathing and soft almost inaudible snores and his arms wrapped around my waist. I lifted my arm and traced along his nose and around his mouth and eyes, to wake him up. When he finally opened them he grumbled his normal ‘too early’ and pulled me closer closing his eyes.

“Aubrey will be over here any second and you’re not wearing a shirt or pants. I don’t have time to be teased today, okay?” I told him sternly, not wanting to hear her mouth about me getting pregnant.

He jumped to let me go and scrambled out of the bed, and I followed him with a laugh. We got dressed and ready, sitting on the couch far away from each other, waiting for the others to wake up and or get here.

Zac walked through the door and sat on me. “Zac you’re freaking suffocating me!”

“Well you’re the one who’s been feeding me! So blame yourself!” He told me with a fake pout, I laughed and called out for Lana. She rolled her eyes and pulled him off of me, but she didn’t realize that it was his plan and he fell on top of her and trapped her between his arms on the ground.

“Get off me you meretriz!” Lana laughed and Zac rolled off of her.

“I am not a prostitute!” He glared at her, it was a playful one but you could tell he was offended.

“Cómo sabes lo que dije?”(How do you know what I said?)

“I’m learning. I won’t be able to speak it, but at least I’ll understand you.” And Lana actually smiled whole-heartedly at him, he didn’t understand what that smile meant but I did. “My mom has been teaching me and also Rosetta stone. She refused to teach me certain words though.” He frowned.

“Eres un estúpido, pero te quiero. (You are stupid but I love you.” She laughed rolling her eyes.

“Uhm you called me stupid but… and I don’t know the other word. The way I figure is if I catch some parts I can make sense of it.” He replied, with his thinking face on. She patted him on the cheek as he helped her up.

Aubrey and Mark walked through the front door, when I thought they were in the other room this whole time. Apparently they went and dropped off Matthew at Grams’ house. We headed over to the Go-Cart arena; it was huge!

Blaze and I got into a cart together, and we saw a camera flash and I knew what that meant. It means that I needed to kiss Blaze because this was going to be in the tabloids.

Blaze leaned in, and I sighed and kissed him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, making sure to flash my ring and he put his hands on the sides of my lower back groaning a little. When the rest of the gang caught up, we were still in our make out. We were in the cramped little car, all over each other.

“Eww Blaze really? In the back of a go-cart?” Lana asked in disgust but you could see a hint of a smile.

“Shut up Lana,” Blaze grumbled, glaring at the dark haired Latina in front of us.

When everyone was in the cars we started at the line ready to take off. Blaze and I took off as fast as the car could go, turning around the corner sharply. I screamed in fear mixed with adrenaline; Blaze’s driving was scary. He merely laughed at me rounding the next turn. Lana and Zac were in the lead Lana’s driving was way better than I could have ever thought. She had Zac holding onto the side of the car, with a death grip. I looked back and on our tail was Aubrey and Mark, Mark had a determined look from the passenger’s seat and Aubrey had an evil glint in her eye.

Next thing I know she beat us to the inside of the corner making our car skit out of control onto the side of the course. I laughed and Blaze did too, reversing quickly at least trying to get back in the race. Aubrey did the same thing to Lana and Zac, and we managed to pass them up; Lana swearing in Spanish with her fist raised in the air. Aubrey ended up winning and got the little trophy that they handed out.

“You cheated! No wonder where your hermano got it from.” She glared at her.

“Don’t be such a sore loser Lana! I think you’re talking about Zac, but I didn’t cheat, I merely use strategic racing.” Aubrey smiled, showing all the teeth she possibly could.

“Who was the brain behind the operation, because it couldn’t have been the blonde?” Blaze asked which earned a ‘hey’ and a smack on the arm from Aubrey.

“I did, cutting you off was the best opportunity.” Mark chuckled, grabbing Aubrey into a bear hug.

As we settled into the food area, which to be honest looked like a high school cafeteria, they were serving Spaghetti with meatballs.

Zac was trying to flick Aubrey in the head with a piece of meatball and instead it ricochet sideways and hit Lana in the face. The meat rolled down her forehead and her mouth made an ‘o’ because she didn’t see it coming.

“Zac, really?” She asked looking pissed, her eyebrows raised at the blonde sitting next to her.

“Lana, I swear that wasn’t—” He was cut off by Lana throwing a handful of spaghetti at him. Some of the noodles landed on Aubrey and she tossed some in my directed, but I ducked and it hit Blaze in the face.

For some reason this sparked a kid to stand up and yell “FOOD FIGHT!” The next thing you know it was full frontal battle. Blaze and I ducked down under the table and started crawling with me in the lead. When I looked back at him, his eyes definitely were a little lower than they needed to be, and weren’t on the direction we were heading. I hit him and he looked up at my face and smiled sheepishly.

“My head is up here,” I scolded.

I saw Aubrey with a bright smile on her face chuck a piece of bread across the room. Zac was behind a table with Lana, he blocking her and chucking food in efforts to win the fight. Blaze even threw food. The security came in and everyone came to a dead silence, and we were escorted out because we were the cause and the problem.

Sitting in the leather interior of Blaze’s car made me feel bad because we were getting spaghetti sauce everywhere, so I tried to sit as still as possible.

“Sage, relax; everyone else is. I’m going to send it to get cleaned.” I melted into the leather seat and sat feeling gross until we got home.

“So how is this going to work? We can’t all shower. Lana has two bathrooms and Blaze has two bathrooms.” Zac asked.

“Well Mark and I are going to shower together and so can Blaze and Sage.” My eyes widened and I shook my head frantically.

“I can wait. Sage you go first and make it quick.” We all went our separate ways. Once I was cleaned off I made sure to clean out the drain and I tied my curly hair into a bun. I walked to the closet in my towel but my mouth dropped and I gripped my towel tighter, when I saw Blaze in nothing but underwear. I mean it’s not like I haven’t seen it before, but this time it was in the full daylight and he wasn’t paying attention so I could drool over it freely. When he finally made eye contact, he complained. “Finally”

I finished dressing and waited for Blaze to finish. “Hey, let’s paint the spare room!”

He looked at me as if I said I wanted to go sky-diving. “Sage we hire people to do that, we don’t do it.”

“It’s not hard rich boy.” I told him shoving him softly. For some reason the ‘rich boy’ nickname he didn’t particularly like so he grabbed my hand and dragged me out the door to the nearest Lowes, for paint.

We argued about eight times over what color to get, so we just called Lana who told us a pale green, which we agreed on.

Then we argued on who was going to carry the paint, because he thought I was too weak to carry them.

“Are you two newlyweds?” The woman at the counter checking out items out asked.

“Ha, not yet; he’s my fiancé and pain in my—hey!” I screeched because Blaze pinched me on the butt. I slapped his hands away and went for the paint. The lady laughed and handed Blaze back is black card.

When we arrived back to the condo, the gang was sitting in the living room with Matthew and my little brother Cory.

“We all cleared out the room for you Sage and put down painting paper, plastic, and stuff.” Lana told us. I thanked her and my brother ran up to me.

He beamed at me and gave Blaze and I a hug. “Mom dropped me off because you know what day it is.” He sighed sadly. That made me freeze and drop the paint cans. Blaze started to complain but saw my sullen face.

“Aw, Sage are you going to be okay?” Mark asked, with Matthew asleep on his shoulder.

“Yeah I’m fine. I’m just going to go paint this room to take my mind off of things.” I walked off all eyes on me, and Blaze followed quietly.

I brought the I-Pod dock into the room and put it on shuffle.  I immediately opened the paint can, pulled out my brush and started on the wall. Blaze started to paint on the other side, and Paint by Jojo and Travis Garland came on. It was fitting seeing as the fact that we were painting but it was highly inappropriate seeing as that was a very sexual song.

“Sage,” I heard Blaze calling my name but I was too depressed to answer. How could I forget the date? My knew my regular routine of grieving, my usual ice cream, a sad and sappy cartoon movie all by myself, but this year I was with Blaze so I knew I couldn’t be alone. None of those people in there would let me. And I looked at that as a good thing.

I was flipped around and pressed into the wall I was just painting. “Blaze!”  I whined, and he grinned at me sheepishly.

“I forgot. Anyway, you were ignoring me. What’s wrong? What’s today?” He asked looking down at me. I was sure I had green pain in my hair and all down my backside now.

“Today was the day my Father died.” I told him softly not looking him in the eyes.

“Oh Sage, how did he uhm… pass?” He wanted to ask, but at the same time you can tell that he wasn’t sure if he should or not.

“In a car accident, drunk driver. It killed both him and the driver on impact. He was coming home from work and I had been waiting by the door for him like I have since I was two, but this time he didn’t come.” My eyes started to water but I didn’t want to think about it anymore. I just turned away from Blaze and turned the Jojo song up louder. When I turned around I ran into Blaze’s lips.

Blaze ended up backing up too far and tripping over a paint can sending us crashing to the floor. I laughed so hard at the paint that splattered all over us and the walls. Blaze looked up at me, because I had fallen on top of him. “Well at least I got you to laugh… Even thought it was at my expense,” he grumbled glaring at the paint can as if it grabbed his leg and pulled him down.

The door opened and my little brother poked his head in to see if we were okay. “What happen in here?” His high pitched voice cracking with curiosity.

“Blaze tripped over paint can,” I giggled rolling off of him. I heard a cackle of laughter from Zac.

“I wish I could have seen that!” Zac yelled.

“Yeah when does Blaze ever do something ungraceful?” Lana laughed alongside of Aubrey and the baby who was just laughing because everyone else was.

We do not exist in any other instant

Here in this dimension you and I are meant to be

I have waited lifetimes to find you

Now that you're here I can remind you

Of the things you've been dreamin' times two

I promise you If you just give me 24

Man, all I need is 24 hours

I promise you'll want plenty more

You've probably been waiting forever

There's no place quite like here

There's no better time than now

You gotta stay ready
