Chapter 22

Temporarily His2,903 words~15 min read

The book I reccommend today is..... Midnight Arrow by Loved_One! It's a great bad/boy book and desreves some love. :) Aiden will make you scream in frustration and make you swoon with his actions. He's a bit of a hoe, but what bad boy isnt? lol

Someone asked me to post pictures of how the actors/models looked like, so I made a little collage. Now these arent how I necessarily pictured the characters, it was just for fun, so you dont have to view them this way. But off the side---->Sage, Blaze and the bottom Zac, Aubrey. If you decided to make me a banner dont use the actors use whatever romancy picture you can find. :)

Remember to comment Let's top last chapters!! I read every comment, also vote, that's important too. :) If you have any questions just ask!

When you take my hand,

Your face is all I see

And all the walls they go black,

Like a movie scene

My feet start to move,

What you do to the linolium

It's like the perfect dance floor

Song: We're Dancing

Artist: Bridgit Mendler

Sage’s Pov.

Don’t know what I expected but I didn’t expect it to be this crowded. This was definitely a much bigger mass of people than a high school party. It was in a dull, red and gray, brick building and on the outside it looked empty and abandoned from the outside, but once inside there was music loud enough for someone in Idaho to hear. The air automatically got more stuffy and hot, and it smelled of hot breath and sweat. The song that was playing was some song that was originally slow but someone added their own techno/dubstep mix to it. I think it was Adele but you could never be too sure, all I know is it sounded shitty and it was hurting my poor ears.

Blaze grabbed my hand as the group maneuvered between the sweaty and hot bodies that we grinding together to the song. We all had to show our I.D., so I knew this party had to be legal because they were selling alcohol and that’s where we were heading; to the bar.

Blaze ordered a beer and asked me if I wanted something, which I declined. Lana ordered some fruity slushie type drink; Zac and Mark ordered the same thing as Blaze, and Aubrey ordered a Martini. I guess I was going to be driving everyone home tonight. I didn’t mind though.

A slow song seemed to blare through the speakers and everyone on the linoleum flooring paired off. Aubrey dragged Mark off to the floor and Zac asked Lana to which she just shrugged and went with him. Blaze and I sat on the bar stools staring off into the crowd. I was asked by a couple guys if I wanted to join them on the dance floor and I declined. Blaze seemed to notice that we were too far apart and that it might have been the cause of boys coming up to me, thinking we weren’t together, so he pulled my stool closer.

Blaze acted as I thought he would at this party; like he didn’t belong. And I felt bad because I forced him to come when we could’ve been at home watching a movie or something. The room was very dark the only thing lighting the room was the rainbow strobe lights and a couple of random white still lights.

Out on the floor there were people grinding, twerking, breaking off, and even some offbeat moves. All I could do is laugh.

“Sage, I don’t want to bore you. If you want to dance you can.” My eyes lit up with excitement and the thought of Blaze dancing with me again.

“You actually want to dance?” I tried to cover up my excitement with shock.

He blinked his green eyes clouding and said “No, I was meaning you could dance with someone here. It’s too dark for pictures so no one will know.” Confusion on where I got the idea from appeared on his face.

I’m pretty sure he saw the disappointment on my face and this time I let him. I didn’t want to dance with some creep I barely knew I wanted to dance with him.

A short guy, well I mean he was shorter than Blaze but taller than me of course, with a taper, and medium build asked me to dance. And I was about to say no but I looked at Blaze’s face that twitched in anger and had a glare painted on his eyes. I nodded and he took my head and led me off my seat and on to the dance floor. I made sure to be in Blaze’s line of vision and not stray off too far because I didn’t know this dude and I wasn’t about to get abducted today or ever.

I wasn’t a dancer and I really didn’t want to dance but why not. Blaze and I never broke eye-contact until the guy waved his brown hand in front of my face.

“Huh?” I asked lost on what he was talking about. He leaned close to my ear, so I could hear past the loud music.

“Let’s make your boyfriend jealous. I won’t touch you inappropriately, my girlfriend is also watching. She’s mad because I dragged her here instead of her friend’s party.”

“Mine is mad because I didn’t want to stay home.” I smiled, I still didn’t trust him because uh stranger danger duh, but his idea sounded good.

He grabbed my hands and spun me; he lifted my arms up pulled me to the sides of him like were tango dancing. Then he broke out in some type of Napoleon Dynamite dance and I started the running man. We were laughing and enjoying ourselves, but it seemed as if that’s all it took for Blaze to come and snatch me from the dance floor.

I laughed and waved bye to the stranger as I was being pulled away. His girlfriend walked up to him and snagged him into a bear hug which only made me laugh more.

“Hey why’d you have to get all jealous and pull me away? We weren’t even dancing close?” I giggled enjoying his obvious discomfort.

He shifted in his seat and avoided eye contact. “I just wanted you over here okay, so I could keep a better eye on you. I wasn’t jealous.”

I smiled wider, “Sure, you weren’t but that’s fine. I’ll just grab him and we can dance closer to here.” I jumped down from my seat only to be pulled back to Blaze. I giggled and turned around in his arms.

“Look I just didn’t want you dancing with him okay. I wasn’t jealous but for paparazzi reasons I don’t.”

I was going to argue him more but I decided to just let it slide, I had my fun for the evening. I saw two more beers next to Blaze’s first one so I knew that he had to drink while watching me dance. That only made me smile more.

“Come on Blaze one dance”?” I batted my eyes and poked out my bottom lip for the puppy dog effect.

He closed his eyes tightly and breathed through his nose roughly. “Just one” I squeaked with excitement and pulled his arms towards our friends.

Blaze just stood there so I decided to take initiative. I pushed myself as close as I could get to him, and put his arms on my waist. I laid my head on his chest and we moved to the beat.

When the song was over we decided we had enough and we were ready to go. As we made it to the door someone tapped my shoulder and saw that it was the guy I danced with. I smiled brightly just knowing that our plan worked.

“Thanks for the help!” He yelled over the loud music.

“Thank you too!” I told him and gave him a thumbs up. Blaze noticed immediately and pulled me close to him.

When we piled into the car I could tell something was wrong with Blaze but he wouldn’t say anything in front of Aubrey and the gang.

When we finally made it to the bedroom he decided to voice what was on his mind.

“So did he stop you to give you his number? Or something” I knew he was fuming but didn’t want to let it out.

“No Blaze, he was thanking me for helping make his girlfriend jealous. But I’m glad to see it got to you too.” I replied while walking to the bathroom to take off my contacts and makeup.

“I wasn’t jealous,” I heard him mumble. Once I was done with the bathroom I skipped merrily into the closet to change into my pjs.

A week passed by normally and everything was either awkward or too romantic between Blaze and I. It was getting harder to be around him each day as my feelings started to grow. I pushed them to the back of my head most of the time.

It was Friday evening and I busy chewing my triple caramel chunk ice cream when my tooth started to hurt.

“Ow,” I complained and Blaze came to see what was wrong. He looked into my mouth and smiled a little. Well his normal twitch up is what you could consider a smile when it came to Blaze.

“It’s just a filling you big baby.” I glared at him and crossed my arms.

“Well its gonna be just a filling missing then, because I refuse to go to the dentist.”

“Then your mouth will continue to hurt Sage.” He said in that concerned tone and I shrugged. “You’re going. I’ll make you an appointment for tomorrow.”

“You can’t make me go.” He just gave me that ‘oh really’ and walked into the kitchen warming him up a plate of chicken parmesan that I made earlier.

The next day I was woken up by Blaze calling my name.

“What do you want? I asked turning around to my left side so I could put pressure on my aching tooth.

“Get up Sage,” he tried.

“No,” I said as if I was a stubborn little five year old who didn’t want to leave the park.

“We have to go; you have to get up now, if we’re to be on time.” He sighed.

“I don’t want to go,” I told him, my voice being muffled by the pillow over my head.

“Well you have to,” Blaze replied and he pulled one of my legs. I latched my arms around the headboard of the bed.

“Sage, come on.” He yanks me a little harder, and then grabs my other leg and pulls.

“I don’t want to go!” I yelled. But he finally pulled hard enough to where my fingers lose their grip and he pulls me all the way down to the bottom of the bed where he’s standing. My upper torso is on the bed but my legs and feet were off it, I was still lying down.

His green eyes pierce mine and he hovered over me, his arms trapping me. “Sage you’re going.”

I was speechless when he looked at me that way but I managed to stutter out of few words.” I—I don’t want.”

“Sage,” he whispered, “You have to go.” He places a gentle kiss on my forehead and both of my cheeks. He slid his arms under my body and lifted me up. It’s like he knew I was left weak from his tenderness.

“Eww, you two have plenty of time for that later.” Mark teased, his eyes scrunching up in amusement. “Aubrey! Blaze was trying to screw Sage!” He yelled to his girlfriend who was there at the door in three seconds flat.

Blaze finished picking me up and sat me on foot of the bed. I pouted up at him and he just chuckled lightly and poked my lip with his index finger.

“If this isn’t the cutest thing! I might just throw up from it!” Zac sighed dramatically, as if he was a girl swooning from a good romantic-comedy. “Now let’s go, Sage you have to hurry and get your feeling we have somewhere to be.”

Everyone had to literally pry me out of the car and into the dentist office because I really didn’t want to go. I hung onto the door and wouldn’t let go. An hour later my mouth was numb, I was slobbering and glaring at everyone in the car; to which they just gave me cheeky smiles.

We were now on our way to the store to pick up some food I was making for game night. Which was today, and I was meeting Zac and Aubrey’s parents. Apparently they’re really nice, but if they’re anything like their kids this will definitely be interesting to say the least.

I vowed to never bring Aubrey and Zac to the store together again, because they decided to be children and race in the motor-chairs around the store. They even got Blaze and I to join, we were the last to join.  We raced around the whole Wal-Mart barely avoiding other carts and people. Blaze actually looked like he was enjoying himself and was laughing. Let’s just say we were almost escorted out until they noticed who Blaze was. He did own this particular Wal-Mart. He didn’t own the franchise, just this one store. The thrill was gone so we just decided to get the food.

Aubrey and Zac being the children they are, just threw random crap into the carts and surprisingly so did Lana. Mark was actually being civilized, just walking along with Blaze and I. Lana was sitting on the motor-chair zooming along while the troublesome two filled her cart. When we ready to go, Blaze paid with a golden piece of plastic and we walked out without a bag in hand, because they would deliver it.

When we arrived back home, lots of bags were piled into the living room. There were so many it was hard to walk without tripping, they were everywhere. I started to take the meats first putting them in the freezer, when I realized some weren’t going to fit, I bagged them and sent Lana down to the downstairs kitchen to put them in that freezer.

I put Aubrey to work and had her feel the cabinets and the boys were doing the separating. I had enough to cook for a long time. Maybe I should cook for Mrs. Colton and Grams. About time we were done it was probably two in the afternoon.

We lazed around for the rest of the day until about six. We decided to switch it up and play Monopoly in the downstairs living room. We were seated around the board and enjoying ourselves.

“See this is why I don’t like playing with Zac! Even when we were kids he liked to cheat.” Lana pouted.

“Oh Lans, you’re just mad because you’re losing,” Zac poked stuck his tongue out at her.

“Quieres luchar y terminar con un nudo?” Lana replied her eyes narrowing at him. I had no idea what she said that time, all I caught was ‘draw back, and nub’.

“Talk dirty to me more Lana,” Zac sighed like he was a girl dreaming about meeting her heartthrob. She was just about to pounce on him when the beeper on the stove went off and the doorbell rang. Zac got up to answer the door and all the game money he had stashed on him fell out of his sleeves. I laughed and got up to go check of the food.

Lana launched herself at him and was clawing at him from on his back Zac was falling into the furniture, so Blaze decided to get the door. He tried falling into couches to rub her off.

“Blaze! You haven’t visited in a while.” The woman who looked a lot like a female version of Zac scolded.

“I know and I’m sorry.” Blaze apologized sheepishly. He opened the door wider so the man and woman could come in.

“Oh Lana I haven’t seen you in ages!” Then she saw her beating her son in the head with a pillow. “I see Zac still likes to bother you.” She smiled.

“What smells so good in here?” The man asked. His looked over towards the kitchen and caught my eye contact.

“Hi, I’m Sage.” I waved.

“Ohh you’re the Sage, Blaze mentioned. It’s nice to meet you, and a girl that can cook. Blaze you seem to have caught a good one.

“Sage this is Marie and Tyler, those two’s parents.” Blaze introduced pointing the wildly thrashing Zac, and Aubrey who was poking at her boyfriend’s hair while he was trying to remove her hands.

“It’s nice to meet you. Well take off your coats and join the game, the food needs a little more time.” I smiled warmly. I don’t know but I had a feeling once Zac’s parents warmed up to me they’ll be even more crazy than their kids.

Goosebumps run down my skin when

We're dancing and then the world disappears

We're dancing to music no one else hears

It's magic, it's like we're stopping time

When your heart beats mine
