Idara's POV
I heard a slightly annoyed sound from Femi"well this is Idara my girlfriend."
I smiled at how Femi called me his girlfriend.
"Well am so happy my brother got someone like you as a girlfriend. Anyways am gonna leave you two."
Ire said as he walked to his car and stepped in , speeding off minutes later.
That didn't go the way I was actually expecting it to go.
"He doesn't seem that bad." I said as we also entered Femi's car.
"Yeah I guess he's trying to change. Well enough of Ire matter sef."he said with annoyance laced in his voice.
He should just forget all about it or confront the guy about it.
All these grudges won't do him any good.
"What about you tell him about how you feel , this stuff is obviously taking a toll on you Femi. "
I said as I turned to him .
His grip on the steering wheel visibly tightened.
"Idara , let's just drop it."he said again.
How could I when he even added his two best friends to 'am keeping grudges at' list.
Or maybe I should just drop it .
But the nagging side in me won't keep still .
"So what about Ayo and Daniel .
All am trying to say is that you should tell them how you feel so that you can all know where to start from."
I quietly added.
He kept quiet , not answering me. Why is he even angry when all trying to do is advise him .
I kept quiet and faced the window, well this is not how I thought the drive will turn to be.
We entered the estate , the silence still strong.
And maybe it was a coincidence but the songs were not playing.
"So are you angry at me too?" I couldn't help but ask when he reached where he always parked.
"Idara can you please just drop it."he said facing the window.
I carried my bag "well you should clear everything that's wrong, I can't just be your girlfriend and not advise you when you need some .
And am just saying that you should talk and maybe you would find out more.
If you are angry at the world, holding grudges you are just making yourself suffer. Settle it calmly and don't say what you wouldn't say when you were not angry."
I finished with a sigh , I hugged him and smiled at him whispering in his ears
"sorry for pushing you but this is probably for you to be at peace not forcing yourself to smile or laugh."
I stepped out of the car and waved at him before walking to the direction of my house.
I felt a tug on my hand.
"thanks Idara."he said holding my hand.
"You welcome. I have to reach home early today Femi. "
"I know ,bye"He said as he pecked me on my lips , I turned grinning as I walked into my house.
"Mercy bye ." I muttered quickly as I walked or more like jogged to my class.
We were having mathematics and we had an assignment we were supposed to submit.
I entered into the class , I greeted
Mr Steven quickly as I walked to my seat.
Liz just shook her head "late comer."she muttered.
"It's because of Mercy." I muttered back as I opened my bag to bring out my notes.
After the period he told Sarah the class captain to help him Carry the notes.
It was only in maths that we submitted our assignment physically. Most teachers just tell us to send it to their mail.
I looked at Femi's side and thankfully he was talking to his friends.
He looked more relaxed and relieved than yesterday and I think it's because he listened to my advice.
After two more periods it was finally lunch time.
I waited for Femi so that we could walk to the cafeteria together.
"Babe." Femi said as he walked to my side.
"So you remembered me since morning." I said chuckling.
"You ehn. I reserve my comments."
I laughed"don't reserve it oo."
"I won't. I missed you a lot since I dropped you yesterday."
He said with a teasing smile
"Really? Wait so how was yesterday?"
"Well I did what you told me too."he said as our playful banter was gone.
"And?"
"We settled it. I called everyone and you know boys a few hits here and there. I'm not that close with ire but it's better than before."
"That's good to know. And am so happy right now maybe I should just be a psychologist."
"Yeah , it's perfect for you ."
We walked to our usual table. I was surprised when I saw ire sitting there too .
Liz was sitting beside Daniel and Angel was sitting beside Ayo. The two sits available was beside Ire.
Femi sat down at the middle seat and I sat down beside him with Liz beside me.
"So Ire how are you enjoying the school?"
Liz asked from beside me.
I turned my head from my food to look at Angel. She was eating and.obvioisly waiting for a response.
I just shook my head , that girl ehn. Sometimes I use to wish I was like her.Free and friendly .
"I like it here ." He said and then quickly added
"Do you guys still hold parties?"
"No , we don't. I've been banned from doing that even though they can't find out." Ayo said
"Do you guys hold party before"Liz asked Daniel.
"Yeah before we transferred here "he answered her.
And she muttered an okay to him.
Well a few talks were made here and there just like every other day.
"When is exams starting?"Ire asked
"It's starting next two weeks. Wait Idara your birthday is next week." Angel said as she smiled widely after realising my birthday was next week.
"I remembered, what's the plan?" Liz said smiling at me .
"I don't know ,just chilling at home." I answered back.
I wasn't one for parties. To me it was tiring and stressful. The next day you have to clean up all the mess and money will just fly away.
"You are not just chilling at home this time. You are going out with us." Liz said again and Femi nodded.
"Remember exam is next two weeks , I have to read." I said again trying to change their minds.
"Come on Idara, we are in SS3, we have to start doing things that will serve as memories."
Angel added , and everyone was obviously going with the idea.
"It's true Idara." Femi added .
I sighed as I realised this battle has been lost.
They better make it memorable
"Fine." I muttered.
IÂ stood up " I need to go to the toilet." I said as I turned .
Liz stood up to "let's go." Well I was so pressed so.i grabbed her hand as we walked fast to the toilet.
When I was done , I walked to the mirror to adjust my shirt . Liz was still in another toilet stall.
The door opened and I turned to see Britney walking to my side.
She stood beside me and started adjusting her skirt.
She turned to look at me face to face, "how does it feel to have Femi now?" She asked with a smile on her face.
I turned back to the mirror, what was Liz doing , I had the urge to ask her if she was giving birth but this witch here now just made me hold it in.
"Why do you want to know ?" I simply asked her back.
" I'm warning you to just give him up before you become more hurt later on ." She finished with a sigh as she tapped my shoulder, I shrugged her hand away and she walked out of the toilet.
Watching her leave I had two things on my mind, what was Liz still doing and why the hell is she still confident?
Christmas is knocking at the door !!
