Idara's POV
" My mother died from cancer ." Femi said , he looked so sad and I felt guilty for forcing it out if him.
I didn't know what to say , so I said"what do you mean by your mother is dead ?"
He looked at me and scoffed , shit , I guess I shouldn't have said that. It's just that when people tell me sensitive stuffs I don't know what to say.
"What , you can't believe it , well do ." He said back bitterly and walked faster .
When I caught up to him , he was already with someone . It was Ayo , oh thank God.
Immediately Femi saw me , he continued walking leaving both me and Ayo .
Well it was simple the hotel's light was on so he just had to follow it.
I walked up to Ayo "hey." "Hi , what's wrong with him . The both of you got everyone worried . "
I sighed thinking about Femi but decided to leave the topic "we got lost . It's been a long day sha and am so tired ."
"Pele. Let's go , the hotel is not far from here . Everyone was told to stand at major roads so that it would be easy to find you two."
"Yeah thanks for that . ". "Idara can I ask you something."
"Yeah , anything." "Okay , so do you know if Angel likes anyone.". " No , why are you asking ??" "Nothing."
He said back and walked faster to the hotel too .
They both left me alone . Does he like Angel or what . I thought to myself but even my brain was not working properly so I decided not to think about it now.
Maybe later , I saw two figures running to meet me "Idara!!!" My two best friends shouted as they hugged me .
These are my real friends, who won't leave me alone unlike those two.
I just forced a smile at them as they both started telling me everything that happened while we were missing.
When we reached the hotel , Mr Johnson was waiting for me , "miss Peters go to your room and rest , your food will be brought up . "
He said without asking anything"thank you sir ." "Don't thank me , thank Femi who have explained everything. And you guys are the winners . "
I already knew that " okay sir . " I said back as I walked towards my room.
I went there and saw Femi too already in the bed . " Hey , am sorry for how I reacted . I did not know what to say next and I guess I was out of line ." I told him as I entered the bathroom.
After bathing, I lied on my bed quickly drifting off to sleep am not sure that I heard this but Femi said" goodnight sweetheart." well it doesn't mean ..........
I left the bathroom thinking about everything that happened yesterday . Ayo asked about Angel and I apologized to Femi too. I wore my cloth for today which was a simple flare gown and high heel sneakers.
"Hey , we are leaving today oo and the prize will be called during breakfast." Femi said as I sat on my bed "okay, thanks for the info ." "What are friends for if I can't tell you that ." A big grin reached my face immediately. "So we are good now right??"
"Do you even need to ask , am also sorry for leaving you like that . " " It's okay "
I said as I left the room with a very big smile on my face. I went to the cafeteria where my friends are presently in .
"Hey guys ." " Hi Idara , guess what " angel said before I could sit down " what ?? " "LMH is starting a new film best year" she said , wow I squeled with both of them .
Well we are crazy like that. Femi and I were the winner , we were given 15 marks in geography, with lots of packaged gifts which I stuffed in my travelling bag .
We are currently on our way to the airport , I texted my mum earlier , well I didn't tell her that I got lost oo , I don't want to be the cause of high blood pressure.
After lots of traffic we finally reached the airport. I was familiar with the process now than the first time and after 30 minutes we were all seated .
I grabbed my phone and opened the wattpad app to continue the book I was reading , the president's son that's the name of the book and it's so interesting.
I was already in a world of my own , I came back to life when I heard the announcement that we would soon take off .
Well even though I was familiar with the processes the whole take off and landing stuff still scared me oo.
Out of nowhere I felt a warm hand on mine. "It's okay ." Femi said as he wrapped his fingers around mine and drew circles around it.
"Thanks. " He chuckled and said"what are friends for . " The tingling sensation in my hand was a whole new story .
I couldn't help the big smile that crept to my face . I'm sure no one can be in my position and not be giddy.
"So what should we do ??" I asked him after some moments of silence . Let's watch a movie ?" "Deal ." He arranged the tab and then everything everything was playing , I love the movie .
"This girl is so beautiful." I said to Femi as I pointed at the actress when she was in her swimming suit " yeah , so beautiful. " He said back . I looked back at him to see him staring at me .
All those excitement and happiness rushed to me again , did he just say I was beautiful . "Why are you staring at me like that and am talking about her ." I told .
"Well can't I stare and I know you were talking about her but it's you I complimented earlier . " He told me point blank. He was still holding my hand.
Al the butterflies have turned to dragons with how he was staring at me .
"Femi stop all this your play jo , let's watch the film . " "Am serious, am not playing"
"What are you trying to say ?"I asked him with a confused expression on my face.
"What am saying is that you are beautiful and I like your smile and your character and how you are my secret partner."
I didn't know what to say so he continued.
"I also like your laugh and how you talk , I just like your long curly hair and everything about you."
I still didn't answer , I was out of words but I was more out of words when I heard the next sentence "I like you Idara , a lot and I know you like me too."
"What ?? "I whispered "you heard me and I just wanted you to know " he said as he pressed play and then the movie started but I was still glued to the same position.
Femi laughed and turned my head "Idara you are just too cute . " He said while chuckling . I smiled as the movie started .
"Idara my sweetheart." My mum shouted as she came to hug me . She was waiting for me at the airport , I excused myself from my classmates and left with my mum , not without telling everyone goodbye well especially Femi.
I sat in the car and watched as lots of yellow bus was packed to carry passengers . I still remembered when my sister and i used to enter one too on our way back from school.
My mind went back to what Femi told me , I liked him too , a lot actually and what if he is not serious about all this.
And I think we are young for this well we are both 17 and I haven't been in a relationship before .
My phone beeped , the usual brown skin girl tune sounded . I grabbed my phone and checked my new message on wattsap.
Femi ; hey , have you reached home.
I grinned as I saw the message and responded to him quicky.
Me ; am almost home . Wat about you ??
Femi ; still at school with my friends.
Me; okay , I have to go am almost home .
Femi; wait!! Am sorry for asking this on the phone and I wanted to ask you on the plane but I didn't get the chance.
Me; what do you wanna ask.
Femi; well do you want to go on a date with me ð??
And with that my hand typed what I knew was right .
