Prabha:( Looking down as she felt more guilty)" Ahana Beta. Your ..Parents didn't die by accident. Th...They were killed by...Rajeev"
Neil:" WHAT?" ( words left Neil mouth in disbelief as he looked towards Ahana who had paled by now.)
Prabha:(Closing her eyes)" Sadly it's the truth. We are so sorry Ahana"
Neil turned towards Ahana who looked almost emotionless at the point. The moment when she heard the news of her mom and Dad, Their dead body came in her mind.
Neil:(shaking Ahana a bit)" Ahana...Ahana...Shona say something "( All he received was utter silence. This state of Ahana scared Neil as he shock her one last time) "AHANA!!"
The jerk brought her out of her trance as fresh tears flooded from her eyes. Her eyes looked at Neil with desperate need. The need for him to comfort her. The need for him to tell her it was all a lie. She looked at Prabha and Sanjeev who held their heads down in guilt of what their son had done.
Neil:"Shona"(Neil called out softly this time as Ahana turned towards him)
Ahana:"Ne...neil he...he can't do that...he...he can't kill my parents... he wouldn't...he...how...Mom...dad... they ...were killed..oh..my..god..what have I done...I..it's all my fault...I.. I.. "
Neil:(Taking Ahana in his embrace as he hide her face in his chest soothing her)" Hey Hey Hey Baby..no...it's not you fault none of it is.. It's that bastard fault. Ahana you gave all your pure love and trust to him. It's not your fault if he broke it. That his mistake. And blaming yourself like this won't get your parents justice. Giving Rajeev what he deserves will"
She looked at Neil who gave her a reassuring smile before wiping her tears and giving her a forehead kiss. She relaxed a little with his touch and turned to Prabha.
Ahana:"Ma...please tell me fully what happened that day"(She asked emotionally overwhelmed at this point)
Prabha:(looked at Sanjeev who nodded )" Beta that day was the day we got to know about our sons deed. After we all thought Ansh was kidnapped, We had heard the destination the kidnappers had called us You at. So we followed you and Rajeev. We saw that Rajeev left you and went inside alone. We also went in."
Sanjeev:"Ahana the scene inside horrified us. Rajeev was there with Your mom and Dad. And...And Ansh was...."
Ahana:"Ansh was what papa?"
Sanjeev:( Gulped as if remembering a horrifying scene)" He was hanging. Above water."
Ahana/ Neil:"What?!"
Prabha:"Ahana they had tied Ansh's cloth on a pole and Ansh layed on the cloth which dangled over the cold water."
Sanjeev:"We moved closer trying to free Ansh when we heard Rajeev. He had a gun and he was threatening Your mom and Dad. He was blackmailing them with Ansh's life."
Prabha:"Ahana we tried to stop him. We begged and we cried but my....so...no...He wasn't my son from that moment he had turned in a psycho."
Sanjeev:"He shot them in front of us. He murdered them in front of our eyes and heartlessly laughed at their dying souls."( He said as tears rolled down his eyes)
Prabha:"We were cornered and we threatened him to call the police in a attempt to get Ansh in a save place but nothing worked. He..he was gonna kill Ansh. He... He thought this would give him freedom from you and your relation. He wanted a fresh start with the girl he...he cheated with. "
Sanjeev:"He was about to kill Ansh when a lady. A true angle came and held ansh before he fell in the water. It was a miracle as she came from no where. She truly was a pure soul. "
Ahana and Neil let out a sigh hearing about this women and mentally thanked the unknown person with all their heart. Just the mere thought of losing Ansh scared Ahana and Even Neil to death.
Prabha:(Looking guilty towards Neil and Ahana)" But this only angered Rajeev. He became mental. He ordered everyone to captive us as he ran after the women who held Ansh. She also ran out the back door. We tried to go after them but failed. After few mins police flooded in."
Ahana:"Yes...they...I remember but you had Ansh with you at that point..."( She asked confused)
Sanjeev:"No Ahana due to tension and fear of that day you don't remember clearly. You had fainted when the police arrive because you heard the gun shots. You were out for few hours. As the police came in and captured the goons, We ran out the back door to search of Ansh and Rajeev and that women."( We struggled for a few mins before we came upon a road where we saw the women and Rajeev fighting. He was holding her and yelling at her while she was trying to push him off.)
Prabha:"before we could reach them, rajeev shoved her in front of a truck and she....she got hit in the accident. He...he killed another person that day and Ran away."
Ahana gasped at the new information. Not only did Rajeev killed her parents but he also murdered a innocent soul who was trying to help them. The person who saved her son.
Prabha:"We rushed to her and tired to take her to the hospital but she refused. As if she knew she wouldn't make it. Be...Before dying she pointed at a Bush and Smiled at us before losing her heartbeat completely"
Sanjeev:"When I check the area, Ansh was laying hidden behind the Bush. She saved Our Ansh and died in the process by the horrible monster"
Prabha:"We.... we called the police and they investigated the scene Before calling her family members. They escorted me and Sanjeev to you where we got our wounds treated and Ansh had a full check up before we met you."
Sanjeev:"I tried to go back and check on the woman's family members but I couldn't find them. When Ahana woke up we told you about your parents death and you went into shock. Seeing your condition doctors told us to keep you away from stress or other shocks as it might cause you to go into depression. So we lied. we lied saying Rajeev died that day. We wanted you to move on Ahana because that man doesn't deserve a pure soul like you"
Prabha:"He did die that day Sanjeev. Our Son died the day he cheated on Ahana. He is someone I have no relation with "
Sanjeev:(Nodded his head at Prabha before turning to the rest of the family who looked at them in shock yet emotional state trying to process the information)" I know you are in shock. especially you Ahana and We are so so so sorry we hid this from you. But it was all for your own good. Your health wasn't good these past 4 years Ahana. you were a living corpse, just doing a repetitive routine to pass the time. you forgot to laugh, joke around, be happy, be free. We thought after your marriage with Neil maybe the love between you both will help you recover And it did. But it took time and we had to wait for that time."
Prabha:"We wanted Neil to be there for you during this time. So we waited. We waited for your love to grow stronger. We were about to tell you the day you discovered your pregnant. But we couldn't risk your pregnancy. Even now it's risky but we can't take more time. If not now then it will be truly late for the truth."
Sanjeev:" At one point we were even scared for your and Neil relationship after this truth got out"
Neil:( Frowned)" Maa papa why would this effect our relationship. None of it was Ahana's fault. Infact she along with both of you are victims of his act. Maa don't you trust me as you son atleast this much"
Prabha:"No neil it's not that. We..."
Sanjeev:"Neil we trust you the most with our daughter. That's why I trust that after I give this next information to you, you wouldn't doubt your love for Ahana"
Ahana and Neil looked on more confused. Wasn't the whole truth already out what more worse can be there that could effect their relationship.
Ahana:"What is it maa"
Sanjeev:"Ahana we have always felt guilty towards that women and her family. She did alot of us by saving our Ansh and we couldn't even thank her for it. We tired to find her family but after years of search nothing came up. We didn't know anything about the women except for her face. Then once day we met that face again"
Prabha:"Beta that day when we came to your house to take the kids to our home we ... we saw Aarti's photo"
Ahana:"Aarti ji?"
Prabha:"We were shocked Ahana. because that women who Rajeev killed was none other then Aarti, Neil's ex wife"
Ahana:"What"( Ahana said in shock as she felt her body still and Neil also freeze next to her )
Neil:"No this can't be...Aarti died in a accident...sh ..a truck...wait..."
Sanjeev:(Keeping his hand on Neil's shoulder)"I am sorry my son but it's wasn't a accident because Rajeev pushed her in front of the truck."
Neil:"No...no..this can't be"( He said hiding his face in his hands as he emotionally broke down while Ahana was still stiffened by the shocking truth)
Shruti:( Who was in tears by now spoke up)"The ..the elderly couple who reported the accident was...was you Aunty and Uncle?"
Prabha:"Yes beta.( She turned to Ahana and Neil)" Trust me beta we knew nothing about Aarti's relation to Malhotra family. That day when we saw the photo in the kids room we were shocked. I wanted to tell you everything there only but I stopped because you and Neil had just taken the first step towards your relationship. You gave your relationship a chance that day and I couldn't take it away from you. I couldn't snatched the happiness you both had before I had waited 5 years for it to come upon Ahana's face and i am sure Angali and Rahul ji had also waited years for it."
Ahana looked up at her mother who was crying in guilt. She looked At her father who held the same emotion. She couldn't blame them really but all they did was for the best of her. Yes she did feel a little upset that they hide such a big truth from her. They hid the fact that the man she loved and adored was a horrible human who had done deed which can never be forgiven for. She hated that fact that she had craved for this person to return for years when he lived a happy life god knows where and god knows with whom. Did he even love her at any point in time?
Ahana looked at Rahul and Angali to see Angali crying seeing her son and Ahana heartbroken by these revelations while Rahul himself stood shock. She looked at Rohan, Shruti, and Preeti to see them in the same state of mind. Her eyes then travelled to Neil.
Her Neil was broken. Broken to broken point where he looked like the Neil from the first time they met. She felt a heartache seeing him suffer like this but she couldn't do anything. All of this was her fault. Due to her, Her mother and father died. Then Ansh almost died and Aarti. Aryan and Naira's mother was taken away from them. Neil and this family's happiness was taken away from them. All because of what. The fact that Rajeev wanted freedoms from his relationship with Ahana? These thoughts roamed in her mind as her eyes started to get blurry.
Ahana head started to ache as she strated to feel dizzy with all the information swirling in her mind. Her eyes landed on Neil who was still in his previous position and a horrifying thought came in her mind before her vision blacked out and she fell on the couch behind her.
