After that Neil headed down with the empty plates of food while Ahana dressed the kids In a traditional wear before heading down with them. As she came down she saw everything ready for the ceremony. Everyone was just waiting for the moon to come out so they can break their fast.
Sid:"Okay all the beautiful Malhotra ladies please join me for some amazing photo session "(Everyone laughed as the ladies headed towards them)
Preeti:"Sid take some great individual and groups pictures so we can post them on our social media accounts "
Sid one by one did a photo session of everyone. He took multiple pics with everyone alone then in couples then with kids. They even took a big family photo.
Sid:"Let's take one more while.."(He was interrupted as Bua entered the scene. The girls covered their heads.)
Bua:"what is going on here?"
Aryan:"dadi bua we are doing a photo session "
Bua:"What?"(She asked confused)
Rahul:"Jiji they all are just taking few photos for remembering this day"
Naira:"mumma let's take one more with dadi bua"
Ahana:"Yes baby we will"(She looked at Neil and he nodded his head)
Neil:"Come bua ji""(everyone started to stand in there position when bua ji frowned. All couples were standing next to each other and the kids before them.)
buaji:"You all have literally forgot the rules of taking pictures as well"
Preeti:(Confused, says something in her low voice so everyone but bua ji hears as she has bad hearing due to age)"Even in taking photos there are rules? "
Rahul:"What rule jiji?"
Bua ji:"my god this generation wait let me show you. Ahana Preeti Shruti go get 5 Chairs "(They looked confused but obligated)
They brought 5 chairs. Bua ji asked them to put the chairs next to each other. Then she asked the men of the house to settle on the Chairs leaving the middle one empty. So from left to right the order was Sid, Neil, empty chair, Rahul, and Rohan. Then she asked the ladies to go stand behind their respective husbands. She asked the kids to sit in front of their dad's. And she went and sat on the middle chair.
Bua ji:"This is how to set up for pictures "
Ahana:(To shruti and Preeti but Neil heard)"This feels like a royal family picture "
Preeti:"Yes bhabhi"
Shruti:"But it's fine we will get a royal look picture"
Ahana:"And bua ji will be happy that all that matters "(The other to nodded in agreement )
Naira:"Mumma I am confused "(She said looking at the seating arrangement. Keeping her hands on her hip)"where do I sit"
Ahana:(Smiling at her cuteness)"Wait let me help you. Ryan sit in front of Rohan bhaiya and Sameer sit in front of dad. Ansh sit in front of sid and Aryan you sit in front of Neil please. And princess you sit in front of Dadi bua"
Naira:(excitedly )"In the middle!"
Neil:"Yes baby"(Ahana made her sit in the middle but she didn't fail to notice the frown upon bua ji face seeing Naira. Not wanting a scene to be caused or her daughter to be hurt Ahana asked the servant who was clicking the pictures to start)
After the photo session. Everyone went out to the back yard area waiting for the moon who was teasing everyone and hiding in the clouds. Everyone was busy within themselves when Ahana got a text from Neil to Come to their room.
Ahana:"Maa I'll be back in a min"
Angali:"Okay but come fast the moon should be here any moment "
Ahana:"Ji maa"(Ahana headed inside the house and upstairs to her room. She entered her room to find only darkness )"Neil"(She called out but no response )"why is the lights off"
She starts searching for the light switch when few dim lights light up around the room. Ahana gasps seeing the room decorated with lights and candles. In the middle the candles spelled out " Happy First karwa chauth wify". Just then she felt 2 hands wrap around her waist pulling her into a back hug.
Ahana:"Neil"(Ahana whispered recognizing the touch while she felt him smile on her shoulder)
Neil:"Happy karwa chauth Ahana. I know that every women has many dream and expectations from their marriage. Especially from there husbands. This is our first festival together after we decided to give our relationship a chance and I want it to be special for you."(She turns around and keeps her hands on his shoulder and now his hands rest on her waist)
Ahana:(kissing his cheek)"Thank you Neil. It is really beautiful"
Neil:"Not as much as you"(Ahana blushed as Neil bend down near her ears and whispered)"You are looking breathtaking in this red saari"
Ahana blushed as she pushed him a little getting out to his hold and started to run out of the room when Neil called her.
Neil:"Hey Shona wait..."
Ahana froze at her spot while Neil looked at her confused. She turned around and looked at Neil before asking him.
Ahana:"Wha..what did u say?"(Her cheeks a little red)
Neil:"I...ah said to wait?"( he replied confused)
Ahana:"Before that"
Neil:"Before that? I said shona..oh..(Realization dawned upon him as he looked down embarrassed)"I..it just came out.. I am sorry if you don't like it. I won't call you anything other then Ahana"
Ahana:"No...I mean I.. like it it's just it was all of a sudden that ....you can call me that"
Hearing this Neil grinned but that soon turned into a smirk as he moved towards her. He pulls her towards him and cages her in his arms.
Neil:"what about my nickname"
Ahana:(Innocently )"your Name is already so short"
Neil:"But an endearment could work right "(He teased)"How about baby?"( Ahana made a cringy face hearing this nickname for Neil. Seeing Ahana's face he started laughing causing Ahana to understand that he was just teasing her)
Ahana:"Neilll don't tease me na"
Neil:"okay shona no more teasing "(he kissed her forehead when her phone rang)
Ahana:(Picking up the phone while still being in Neil's arms)"Yes maa? really !! Yeah we are coming.."(She cuts the call abs turns to Neil)"Neil, The moon came"
Neil:"Great let's go and break the fast. I am damn hungry"
Ahana:"Wait? You didn't eat?"(Neil looks at her with a sheepish grin)"omg Neil did u fast?"(Neil nodded his head)"That why I didn't see you eat breakfast or lunch. You said you will eat later. And that sandwich. haww then why did u lie to me?"
Neil:"I was teasing you Shona. Why wouldn't I fast for you? if you are fasting for my long life then it is my duty to do the same."
Ahana:(looking down)"I..I thought we weren't there yet. I mean..I.. "
Neil:"You thought I wouldn't want to fast for anyone other then Aarti?"(Ahana looked at him at shock on how he understood but then looking down she nodded)"Ahana I know you have insecurities but you need to know how to share them with me. Keeping these in your head will only make it difficult for you."
Ahana:"I know. And I also know that all my insecurities are not true but even after knowing this, my mind fills up with them."
Neil:"I know. I have already told you Ahana that Aarti is my past and you are my present and future. I just need a little time to fall in love with you and I know for a fact that I am falling for you. "(Ahana nodded looking in his eyes as he kissed her forehead )"Now common let's go break the fast. I am starving. I don't get how you girls can keep so many fast"(As they started to walk back to the backyard)
Ahana:(Laughing)"Well I am surprised how you were able to keep a fast for the whole day as you are a bigg foody. You know when I first saw you I would have never guess you are a foody Neil"
Neil:"Well when I first saw you I would have also never guessed that you are soo cute"(Ahana blushed and slightly hit him as he laughed)" And that you blush so much"
Ahana:(Whining )"Neilllll. I don't blush alot. You just say thing which...which..argggg"(Neil laughed as they reached wher everyone else stood. The family members turned being Neil's laugh and smiled while Buaji frowned)
Buaji:(To her self)"This girl has no shame. Look how she is laughing so freely with her husband that too in front of her elders. God where is my poor Neil stuck."
Angali:"Come Ahana lets start the pooja"
The husbands stood in front of their wife's. Ahana took the Aarti ki Taal (Plate of all the holy thing) And did Aarti of Neil before taking the netted chalni (Netted plate like thing). She looked at the moon through it before looking At Neil through it. Then she gave a little bit of gal( holy water ) to the moon before handing it to Neil. Neil made her drink water followed by sweets breaking her fast. Neil then follower everything Ahana did and Ahana broke her fast as well. After the ritual was finished, Ahana bend to touch Neil's feet but he stopped her mid way.
Neil:"Ahana no!"(Ahana smiled as she stood up to see everyone already done with their rituals as well.)
Bua ji:"Neil putter let her touch you feet. Touching a husbands feet is blessing for wifes"
Neil:"No bua ji. Time has changed and now a wife equal to her husband. She doesn't Need my blessing as I am always with her."
Bua ji:"God these kids. Angeli what have you taught your kids huh?.First Everyone keeps a fast for their wifes and then they don't let you girls touch their feet. You all are forgetting traditional rituals"(She said in frustration before heading inside)
Rahul:"It's okay kids. let's not ruin our moods on such a beautiful day. "
Ansh:"Mumma now can u eat?"
Ahana:"Yes baby"
Aryan:"Then we will feed you"
Neil:(Pouting)"What about your papa. He also kept a fast for your mumma"(The kids looked at Ahana and she nodded)
Naira:"Don't worry papa. I am there na I will feed you"
Neil:"Thank you princess "
Everyone settled down in the dinning area to eat. Aryan, Ansh and Naira fed Neil and Ahana. Everyone looked at them in Aww. After dinner Ahana took the kids to sleep before heading to her room. That day to an end in a good note. Ahana and Neil slept cuddling as soon as they hit the bed as today was a hectic day. Now they had to see what big twist comes tomorrow in their lifes.
