Neil:"Hey...nothing will happen to you... us Ahana. This is all real and this will never change. I will never let your happiness go away. From now on this happiness is here to stay with you all your life. I am sorry, because of me you felt that all this is unreal. I always ran from from feeling and it made you think think that you and me could never be like this. In a way or another I am somewhat responsible for this insecurity but I promise you Ahana I will never leave you no matter what. No matter what obstacles come our way we will handle them as a team. Together."(He kissed her forehead slightly while she smiled through her tears)
Ahana:"Sorry it's just I keep getting insecurities due to the past incidents."
Neil:"Ahana I am supposed to be your partner. Your other half. We can share everything. From happiness to sadness. From Heartful confessions to all our insecurities. We can always depend on each other Ahana."
Ahana:"I know"(She smiles. Just then her phone rang. She picks up the call seeing Angali Calling her)"Hello Maa. "(Ahana went into the balcony to talk while Neil sat on the bed scrolling through his phone.)
Ahana came inside and sat on the bed lost in her thoughts. As if she was calculating things in her mind.
Neil:(Seeing her lost)"What happened Ahana?"
Ahana:"Huh?Oh..I was just thinking. Actually maa called to say that tomorrow is Karwa chauth. And before Bua ji comes home we should complete some preparations."
Neil:"Karwa chauth"
Ahana:"Anyways, I'll go and tell Preeti and Bhabhi."
Few hours later...
Everyone was Seated in the hall as Ahana and Preeti brought out the cake they had made for the kids and everyone.
Rahul:"Chocolate Cake? Today? Is it some special occasion ?"
Neil:"Papa the kids wanted to eat some so Ahana made it"
Sid:"You should give yourself some credit too bhai"(He said teasingly as Neil glared at him which Sid ignored)
Angali:"what are you saying Sid?"(She asked confused)
Sid:"Nothing mom. Just that today I got to know that Bhai likes baking. He and Bhabhi baked the cakes today"(Everyone gave a amusing/Teasing smile making Ahana blush and Neil glare at Sid more. But one person looked upset. Bua ji)
Bua:"This girl keeps crossing her limits. Cooking is a girls duty not boys. How can you ask ur husband to cook with you. Shameless"
Neil, who was boiling in anger was about to say something when Ahana held his hands nodding no.
Bua:"Anyways Angali, I hope your daughter in laws know that tomorrow is karwa chauth. "
Preeti:"Yes we do bua ji. Infact all the Preparations are also done for it"
Bua:(Satisfied a little)"Good good. Finally you all did something right. Tomorrow I don't want any problems. "(Saying so she left for her room)
Preeti:(Turning to Shruti )"Was that supposed to be a compliment?"
Shruti:"I am not sure"(Ahana who heard this small exchange laughed causing everyone to look at her)
Ahana:(Slightly embarrassed)"Oh..s..sorry "
Angali:"Never say sorry for being Happy Ahana."( She said with a smile)
Ahana:"Maa I'll go and get the kids to bed. Common Ansh, Aryan, Naira go brush you teeth mumma is coming"(The kids ran to their Rooms)
Neil:"Ahana wait"(He said standing up)"I'll go make the kids sleep you finish your cake"
Ahana nodded as Neil left after the kids. Everyone still sat in the hall as it was only 9 at night. They were all busy talking when Angali saw the time.
Angali:"rahul we should head to bed we have to get up at 4 tomorrow. And Sid are you keeping the fast"
Sid:"Ofcourse Mom"
Ahana:"Sid and fast?"
Angali:"Yes Ahana. Rahul And Rohan have been fasting with us since they got married. Sid wants to follow this."
Ahana:( in her mind)" So does that mean even Neil will...no no Ahana don't think about that. Sid, Dad, And bhai do it because they love their wifes. Neil and Me aren't at the stage yet. Why would he keep the fast for me. Ahana just stop thinking about all this"
Angali and Rahul left for bed. Rohan and Sid sat in the hall discussing something while Preeti, Shruti and Ahana left for Ahana and Neil's room as Neil was still in the kids room. Shruti and Preeti sat on the bed as Ahana folded few cloths while talking to them.
Preeti:"No Bhabhi it's there critical years of schools, we should let them focus. If they want a trip or something let's go during the holidays."
Shruti:"I also said the same to Rohan. I think he is just tried of office work and wants a break"
Ahana:"A family holiday trip does sound amazing. We should definitely plan during the kids holidays."
Preeti:"Bhabhi in few months it will be one year till your and Neil bhaiya's wedding. "
Ahana:"So much as changed in these months. I could have never imagined we would be here today."(She said staring at his shirt in her hands)
Shruti:"I still remember how rude and arrogant Neil used to act before you came in his life. You truly brought our old Neil back"
Preeti:"Yeah He would give that stern face"(She said trying to mimick his face)
Ahana:"No no no wait. It was like this"
She wore his shirt over her saari and took his sunglasses from the table putting it on. Giving a stern face she started to mimick him.
Ahana:(Mimicking Neil)"I want this deal for the kids only. We will just live as Our kids parents. (taking out a fake cell phone)"Sid can you handle my meeting today. I have urgent work."
She kept mimicking him as Preeti and Shruti laughed at her acting. But neither of them knew that a spectator was standing at the door listening to all this. Neil. Neil leaned against the wall as a smiled stayed on his face as he listened to his wife mimick him. He found it cute how she changed her face expressions and used hand gestures to mimick him.
Ahana:"Oh and the most famous look. (She folded her arms and look at them sternly)" this was his 24/7 look. Except for the kids everyone recived this look only."
Preeti:"not gonna lie when I first met bhai I was also scared because Rohan Bhaiya gave a smile but Neil Bhai just had a stern face"
Shruti:"But I don't think Ahana was scared of him when she first met him. Don't you remember how she yelled at him few days after the wedding was fixed"
Ahana:(Bit her lips remembering the day that she took the kids to the movies and Neil got worried and angry and yelled at her causing her to yell back)"I..well to be honest I was scared as first but at that point in life I was so broken to even care about all this. Also I saw how he was so different with the kids which made me think that he was always hiding his real self. Maybe I wasn't scared because I understood his actions. Maybe because I was in the same situation as him at the time."
Shruti:"And that's why you both were perfect for each other"
Ahana:"Yeah but not gonna lie he was a little bit too arrogant at the time. I like this Neil better. Not the ( mimicking him with a stern voice)" Sid do this..."
Neil:"Oh really?"(He spoke making the 3 girls freeze especially Ahana.)
Shruti and Preeti looked af the door wide eyes as they saw Neil standing there with a smirk on his face looking at Ahana. Ahana stood as a statue not having the gut to look at the door as she closed her eyes tightly.
Shruti:"I ...I think we should go"
Preeti:"Yes. bye Ahana bhabhi. Good night. See you tomorrow."( They gave a smile to Neil who nodded and closed the door as they left.)
Ahana:(Murmuring to her self in the same position)"Your dead Ahana. What was the need to mimick him huh? And why didn't you lock the door. Ahana you stupid girl. You always get yourself into these stupid situations then regret later."
Neil who had came closer and stood right behind Ahana, could hear her rambling causing him to smile. He cleared his throat causing Ahana to jump and turn around looking at him wide eye.
Ahana:"I..ac.."
Neil:(Snaking his arms around her waist and pulling her closer so that her body collided with his)"So Mrs. Malhotra Do you know it is bad to make fun of someone.( moves closer and whispers in her ears)"Especially your husband"
Ahana closes her eyes as her fist tightly around his shirt. He moves back a little and looks at her face and smiles. He tugs a lose hair behind her ears as she slowly opens her eyes.
Ahana:"I...I am sorry Neil actually "(She start to take of his shirt that she wore but stops as she feels his hands on her hands)
Neil:"Ahana never be sorry for using something that is mine. because let me tell you that as much as it is mine, it is yours too. Also you look cute in my shirt."(Ahana blushes)
Ahana:"Neil..I'll go and change"(Before hearing a reply she runs to the washroom)
After few mins she comes out to see Neil already in his nightwear sitting on the bed working on his laptop. She comes and lays on her side of the bed and starts scrolling through her phone as she sees Neil busy. It was around 11:30 when she puts her phone down and looks at Neil.
Ahana:"Neil how much longer will you work. Tomorrow is karwa chauth let's sleep na"
Neil:(Still staring at his laptop)"Ahana it will take some time. You sleep"
Ahana huffs but nods as she pulls the cover over her head trying to sleep. For Some reason she wasn't able to sleep. Something was missing. Neil could feel her tose and turn trying to find her sleep. He sighs as he shuts his laptop and lays down pulling her into his embrace.
Neil:"Now sleep"
Ahana snuggled into his chest as he wrapped his arms around her waist. And soon enough sleep to over both of them. The thing stopping her from sleeping before was Neil's warmth, which she had gotten now.
Next morning came. Around 4, Ahana's alarm went off. She groaned as she sat on the bed and turned it off. She saw Neil half awake as well.
Ahana:"Sorry Neil. You sleep"(He nodded as she snuggled into his pillow while Ahana slowly bend down and kissed his forehead before heading to the washroom to freshen up.)
Downstairs...
Ahana, after getting ready in a red Saree, headed downstairs to see everyone present. The ladies were dressed in beautiful sarees while the Male were dressed in traditional wear. All were present at the dinning table except bua ji.
Ahana:"Good morning "
Angali:"Good morning beta. Neil Where is Neil?
Ahana:"Oh Maa actually he is sleeping "
Angali:(Frowns)"Why?Won't he keep a fast for you. Wait I'll wake him up"(Before Ahana could say something a voice spoke)
