Chapter 16| Friends

Ahana:"Honeymoon What?"

Neil:"It was all his plan. I should have guessed it before but...Argg how can I miss it. He has done this before  also"

Ahana:"Before ?"

Neil:(His eyes soften and his voice saddened)"Yeah. He did this onces with Aarti and me"(He said as all the past memories came back. While Ahana smiled )

Ahana:(Turning towards him)"Will you tell me more about her"(He looked at Ahana shocked )"Well we have nothing to do. So I wanna know. How was she like? "

Neil:"You wanna know about Aarti?"

Ahana:"See I know this sounds weird. But we both are tied into this hitch now and I Know this relationship is just for out kids but still I don't want to live my whole life in awkwardness."(Neil looks on which makes her less confident but she continues )"Let's try and be friends. This is help us live a less awkward life and be able to raise the kids in a much better environment. "

Neil:"I guess your right."

Ahana:"So friends"(She asked forwarding her hand)

Neil:(Giving a small smile )"Friends "(As they shaked their hands to agreement)

Ahana:(With a soft smile as she adjusted herself towards Neil)"So tell me about her. I am sure she must be an Amazing woman"

Neil:"She was. One of a kind."( He said as he got lost in his past memories )"We had an arrange Marriage. And 2 years after our marriage Aryan was born.  We were living a happy life. 2 years later she got to know that She is pregnant with Naira but her pregnancy had issues. Doctor said she wouldn't survive But my Aarti was a fighter. She survived. She gave birth to our princess. Everything was going fine until that one day. That one day changed my whole life. Aarti went to the market to get some ingredients because I...I demanded to each Italian food that day. She...She didn't even take the driver and 3 hours after she left we get a call saying that she had a car Accident and di...Died. If I..I hadn't demanded.. she would be alive now."

He said the last part in tears. Ahana keeps her hands on Neil's shoulder which brings him back into the reality. He wipes his tears and looks at Ahana.

Neil:"Umm What happened to Ansh's Dad"(He asked Ahana )

Ahana:"Rajeev..His Name was Rajeev. We met in college. Last year. I moved here with my parents in the start of the year. My parents and his parents were friends. As soon as I came here me and his family clicked. At first we hated each other. Them we..we slowly become friends then lovers. we dated for about 2 years before getting married. After 3 years of our marriage I was pregnant with Ansh. The day after Ansh completed 6 months, the tragic event happened"(She said as she took a deep breath )

Neil:"You don't have to continue if you don't want"(He said seeing her breathing uneven )

Ahana:(trying to calm herself down)"No I should. That day Ansh was with my parents. Rajeev and I had a plan to go out when we got a call. They...They had kidnapped Ansh and my parents. They demanded money in exchange for them. We collected the money and left towards the junkyard they told us to. Rajeev didn't allow me to go in. I told and cried that I need to go in but he didn't move. So I stayed outside. For a long time I stayed outside but I couldn't anymore. When I ran in I was shocked to see the scene. My...my...mom and Dad...Were....Dead...in front of me...Prabha maa was there with Ansh in her arms with Sanjeev papa by her side. At the moment I couldn't think of anything and I ran and took Ansh in my arms. I don't clearly remember what happened after that. All I know is Maa took me home, While Papa stayed back. I asked for Rajeev but they said nothing. After few hours they told me that Rajeev also died there. His body was identified few mins ago. I lost everything  that day. Rajeev and...my parents both died in that junkyard and I couldn't do anything"

Neil tried to say something but couldn't find the word. Ahana stands up and wipes her tears before putting a fake smile.

Ahana:"you must be hungry. I'll cook something "(She said rushing to the kitchen while he recalls how she reacted when Sid called and how she reacted when he told her to wait outside. He signed before heading into the kitchen)

Ahana enters the kitchen and starts looking for something to cook. She looks around the place but finds very less ingredients to make anything. She makes a annoyed pouty face but soon straightens up seeing Neil enter the kitchen.

Ahana:"Umm there aren't much ingredients for me to cook something. We can't even leave the house. What are we supposed to eat"

Neil:"Wait I'll call Someone"(Neil starts dialing family members phone but stops in mid way and cuts the call)

Ahana:(Confused as to why he cut the call)"What happend"

Neil:"Come with me"(He walks upstairs while Ahana follows confused)

They reach a bedroom. Neil's starts searching for something while Ahana just looks on confused.

Ahana:" Neil what are you doing? Atleast tell me something "

Neil:"One min"(He kept searching when he saw some outside)

He heads towards the patio that was attached to the room.  Ahana followed him outside to see a table set with decorations around it. A pizza box set on top of it with a sticky note.

Ahana:"How did you...Wait let me guess Same happened in the past with Aarti "

Neil:"Yeah. let's eat"

Ahana nods. They settle down on the table. Ahan picks up the letter and reads it.

Letter:

Here is your lunch for the day. Dinner will be provided when times comes. As you both are on your mini honeymoon, no cooking allowed. Snacks are in the kitchen when hungry.. So plz enjoy the rest of your day spending time with each other.

Neil:"This boy.."(They get busy in eating.)"So tell me things about Ansh"

Ahana:(A smile comes on her face)"Ansh. He is totally Crazy. You know once we were going to ..."

That day something changed. As Neil and Ahana talked about the kids. They were lost on their own world. Today they had created a new bond between them. The bond of friendship. Though that bond still needed time to blossom fully. It was still a start.

People say that to move forward in live you have to leave your past behind. I feel it's the opposite. To move forward in live you need to take your past with you. Your past is what shapes you into the person you are. Sharing your past with your partner is the point of developing trust. And as we all know Trust is one of the main things needed to form a beautiful relationship.
