(Katherine's POV)
"Katherine is an Empathine."
My breath hitched and my eyes widened drastically.
'I'm a what?!'
"What do you mean she's an Empathine?" Dean asks confused.
Wow, so now he decides to speak and scare the living day lights out of me!
Becky sighs before turning towards Sebastian who hands her a massive book that I didn't see him holding before.
It looked like it was a really old one as the cover looked like it had dust and was a dirty brown colour that you'd usually see on ancient books.
She took the book from him and placed it on Jason's desk before turning to a bookmarked page.
Jason and Dean both lean forward to get a better look at what the book says.
All of them gather around it and I slowly take steps towards them.
I've concluded that they can't see me so I might as well use it to my advantage.
I was in fact right that it was a really old book as I stood in front of the book.
The writing was written in black ink and it wasn't typed up. The parchment also looked very old.
"It says here that an Empathine has to be born from true mates and has half werewolf blood and half witch blood. The Moon Goddess only makes a certain amount of mates that are both witch and werewolf, but even then she decides which child will be a Empathine if the two mates have numerous children.
They have special powers that no other wolf has such as: having dreams of the future and present, sometimes the past; knowing when something bad will happen when they feel uneasy; being resistant to silver while also having a wolf inside them to guide them. This wolf is very special and not like any other normal wolf as it is rational and doesn't speak with 50% feelings and 50% logic, like normal wolves, but speaks with 75% logic" she explains, taking a breath while looking at Jason who looks deep in thought.
'I have a wolf inside of me?!'
My eyes widen in realisation and a surge of power runs through me.

(Flashback-chapter 18 reference)
I was in a tight black jumpsuit that showed off my curves. The jumpsuit also had a gold belt around me.
'How the hell did this happen?!'
I gaped at my attire as my eyebrows came together.
'FOCUS KATHERINE! You're in the middle of nowhere. Stop focusing on your clothes and focus on getting the hell out of here!'
The voice in my head was right.

I gasp as another surge of power runs through me.

(Flashback-chapter 18 reference)
I decided to turn around, to enter the door again to see if there would be another door inside the darkness that had surrounded me a couple of minutes ago, only to see the door had disappeared.
I eyebrows came together in confusion.
'Why are you just standing there!? Get a move on!' Said the annoying voice in my head.
I rolled my eyes although I knew the voice was right.
Who knew your conscience would actually tell you the right things to do.

I gasp for air once the surges of power slowly leave my body.
Okay, it was definitely not my conscience.
But...a wolf?!
'Yes a wolf! About time!' A voice screamed in my head.
My eyes widenend so much that I was worried they'd pop out of my head.
'What the f*ck!'
'Language!'
'This can not be happening! I don't believe it.'
'Well believe it. But, I'll give you some space now because you're freaking out and need some time to digest this.'
'How'd you know?' I asked confused.
'We're the same person. Well, bye. Call when you're ready although I'll already know when you are.'
'Um...bye.'
A ran a hand through my hair, biting my lip.
I could only think of one word:Wow.
I shook my head before focusing on Becky and the boys.
Jason an Dean both looked deep in thought.
"Please continue" he said motioning with his hand towards them.
"Although Empathines have a wolf only a rare few can shift into one. As far as we know, Katherine can't shift. They can also have a mate as they have the wolf gene.
Anyway, there can only be 10 at a time in the world. If one dies, you'll have to wait 10 years before another will be born to replace that one. If two die, you have to wait 10 years until another two replace them two that died and so on" she pauses biting her lip nervously.
Jason raises his eyebrow as she stops.
"Um, Alpha...do you feel, I don't know, maybe protective over Katherine?" She asks stumbling over her words.
I watch as Jason runs his hand through his hair, again, and sighs agitatedly.
"Yes. But she's not my mate!" he rushes out.
My eyebrows come together in confusion.
Okay, first 'Alpha', then 'wolf' and now 'mate'.
What the f*ck is going on!
I watch cautiously as Jay bites his lip and looks at the ground while Dean looks confused. Typical.
"We know" she whispers.
Why would she whisper.
I gasp as a growl leaves Jason.
"Please tell me all of you do not know why I feel so protective over Katherine and if not, you did not hide the reason from me," Jason says in a calm voice as I watch his hands clench on the table.
They all remain silent.
"Explain!" Jason screams suddenly with such power and authority in that one word that it has everyone in the room flinching, including me.
However, not Dean. He looks, almost, calm like he is used to such power anger radiating from Jason.
"You see," Becky starts, "with every Empathine there comes power and with power comes danger. This means anyone would do anything to get an Empathine so they are always in danger, so it's only natural that every Empathine has a protector who would do anything to protect them. You're Katherine's Protector" Becky explains.
Silence follows and that's when I feel it: the pull.
I stumble back, falling onto the floor as my eyes droop.
Dizziness follows and I struggle to keep my eyes open as I slowly lay down on the cold floor.
'No, no! I have to keep listening!'
Then, darkness consumes me.

Sorry for the update being late but this week was hectic with: school; homework; guests coming over; revision and barely having enough time to sleep.
I really hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and I regret to inform you that the book is indeed coming to an end slowly.
There will only be a couple of more chapters before an epilogue.
