(Katherine's POV)

All I could see was darkness.

There was nothing and no one in sight.

I was aimlessly walking around in the darkness, trying to find something that will get me out of this dreaded place.

But then, I heard it.

There was a faint beeping sound in the background and muffled voices...

I stood still in the darkness and listened carefully, trying to focus on the voices but the constant beeping wasn't helping.

"She looks so weak", a soft female voice whimpered.

Bethany.

"I can't believe this happened. And out of all people it was him" Another whispered.

Ruby.

A deep growl followed and then a male voice spoke.

"No one will utter his name or even speak about him around her" the person said angrily.

I felt my eyebrows bunch together in confusion as I stood listening.

Jason.

"Yes Alpha" they both said in unison.

Alpha? Hadn't I heard that word before..

There was silence before a creaking sound could be heard.

"Alpha, it's time for the meeting" a different female voice said in a monotone voice.

Becky.

I heard a deep sigh from Jason before he spoke.

"Okay. Ruby and Bethany, stay here for when she wakes up" he practically demanded before I heard his footsteps leave.

A warm feeling suddenly enveloped me and I suddenly had the urge to close my eyes.

So I did...

----------------------------

My eyes shot open.

I looked around me, only to see I was in an office.

There was a large desk that had a lot of papers on it along with pens.

Behind the desk, against the wall, was a medium sized cabinet which had a key whole.

In front of the desk was two sofa seats while in the middle of the room there was a huge coffee table, that was pretty high, with sofas surrounding it as well.

In the corner of the room was a small library, which seemed to be full of files instead of books.

However next to the small library there seemed to be some shelves which had some books.

'Why am I hear? How did I get here?'

But before I could ponder any further the door to the office opened.

Jason, Dean, Becky and all the girls' boyfriends walked in.

Once they all had entered, the door had been shut and Jason was sitting behind the huge desks while everyone else remained standing in front of the desk.

"Now, what I want to know first is what do you guys know?" Jason said his face cold as stone as he spoke to them in a stern voice.

Becky shrugged before speaking.

"And what I want to know is how you knew where Katherine was and how you knew he was the one who had her" Becky replied nonchalantly.

"Becky! He's the Alpha, respect him" her boyfriend, Jay scolded.

'Wait, why were they talking about me when I'm right in front of them? Can they see me?'

"No. It's fine. I guess you guys deserve an explanation" Jason said as he ran his hand through his hair.

He then looked up staring at the wall opposite him, right passed Becky and the boys.

--------------------

(Jason's POV)

I stepped into her room and looked around the room until I found what I was looking for.

"Pass me that chair" I say, pointing to her desk chair.

Ruby passes it to me and I place against the wall before standing on it.

I face the air vent and raise my fist and punch it, bending it inwards.

I keep punching until its in enough for the screws to loosen and allow the edges of the vent to bend out.

I then use both hands on both hands to curl them around the edge before pulling it, causing to completely come off.

I throw it to the side and look inside and growl at what I see.

I pull it out and jump off the chair, looking down at it, growling so loudly that I know for a fact that my pack had heard it all the way to the clearing.

It was a small devise that I knew about all too well.

It had a square shaped box on it, that held a special type of gas that would be released through the tube that was attached to it.

The gas would only be released by a remote that could be used from a distance, so the gas wouldn't affect the person who had put the device there in the first place.

These devices were put in air vents so when the gas was released then it would travel through the air vents and go into all the rooms.

But who would know about these devices and would have access to them?

Only a certain trusted few knew about it and the pack ones were locked in a cabinet in dad's office...which only he had the key to.

"Ruby, I want you to shift into your wolf" I say turning towards her.

She nods as I watch her close her eyes and try to shift.

However nothing happens. She looks up at me confused.

A growl ripped through my throat as I closed my eyes; my wolf was at brink of taking over.

I had to calm down or I wouldn't be in the right stage of mind to find her.

To find Katherine.

--------------------------

I looked away from the wall and turned my attention to my desk and pulled out the top draw.

I picked up the device and placed it on the desk before looking up at them knowing they were confused at what it was.

"This is called a 'WS Gas Releaser'. The 'WS' stands for 'Wolf Sense'. These are put into air vents and the gas is released by a remote. Once the gas is released it travels through the air vents, going to each room, allowing any wolf to be affected. It stops any wolf senses, such as: smell, sight, hearing and in some cases the ability to shift," I explained.

"That explains why Ruby couldn't shift when you asked her to" Becky said, joining the dots together.

I nodded gravely.

"Only a few packs have these, us being one of them."

"Why didn't we know about this before?" Ronnie asked his mouth in a thin line.

"Only a trusted few knew about these. It was only natural that the Alpha, soon-to-be Alpha and Beta knew about them. It was just a few, like the best fighters of our pack, who were chosen to know as they would be using them in battles" I replied.

"But then, why didn't we know about them? Not to brag or anything but we are the best male young fighters and Becky and the girls are the best female fighters" Sebastian said with an eyebrow raised.

"Well, we haven't been attacked for a couple of years and so, when you guys become the best, we didn't see it as a need to tell you until we were sure that we'd be attacked soon" I shrugged.

They all nodded understandingly, seeming to be in thought.

"But how did you know it'd be him who was doing all of this? And it still doesn't explain how you knew where Katherine was" Jay asked, wrapping an arm around Becky's waist while she crossed her arms and tapped her feet, probably losing any patience she has about me knowing where Katherine was.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"I knew it was him because he was the only one who had access to the cabinet" I pointed behind me, "where we keep all these devices. That added to the fact that he seemed off, disappearing at night thinking I was asleep, and got how he seemed angry when he thought Katherine was my mate...let's just say I had a hunch" I said shaking my head, still not believing it was my own father who had done all of this to an innocent girl like Katherine.

A growl ripped through my throat just thinking about how I saw her, chained up, with fear in her eyes looking so weak.

I closed my eyes calming myself and my wolf down before looking up at them to see they were giving me an, understanding look?

I shrugged it off and listened as Becky spoke.

"Then how'd you know where she was?" Becky asked her eyebrows bunching together in confusion.

"Well, once I was sure it was him I started thinking about where he could hold Katherine. But then I remembered, when I was around 15, he was showing me how to patrol the woods and we came across unclaimed territory. There was a small house there but no one seemed to have loved there in years. We looked around and found stairs leading down to a steel door. When we opened it we found an empty room and nothing more so we left. He said not to ever go there again and he would have it removed so I didn't. But there was something off about him when he realised no one was there. I realised then that he may have not removed it so it was the first place to look" I explained.

I waited for any questions, there seemed to be none so I continued.

I leaned back on my chair, crossing my arms.

"Now that you know everything, I think I get to know what you guys know" I say narrowing my eyes.

Becky stepped forward before taking a deep breath looking down at her hands.

She looked at me straight in the eye before speaking.

"Katherine is an Empahine."
