He turned on the light and immediately saw the Post-it note on the mirror. He took it down and saw a few lines of neat and beautiful handwriting: “Brother, thank you for letting me stay over. She even drew a smiley face at the end and signed it off as “Qu Ling’er.”

Luo Yichen looked at the Post-it note and could not help but smile. When he put the Post-it note in the drawer of the bedside table, he saw the identity card again. The lass left her identity card here—would it be inconvenient for her to go anywhere? He pursed his lips and left the bedroom again.

He looked at Assistant Liu—who was about to leave—and asked, “Where did you put my cell phone?”

Assistant Liu pointed at his bag on the sofa. “It’s in your bag. If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave first.”

As Luo Yichen went to get his cell phone, he casually asked, “Did anyone call me this afternoon?”

Qu Ling’er said, “Hello, Brother. Are you home already? I think I left my identity card at your house. Can you help me find it? I’ll go get it later.”

Luo Yichen replied, “Yes, I’m at home. Where are you? Aren’t you coming over now?”

But it had been a few hours—they were still not back and they would not let me go either. They just made me wait in the interrogation room.”

Luo Yichen’s face darkened. He held in his anger and asked, “Which police station?”

Qu Ling’er replied, “Dongcheng New District police station.”

“Wait for me.” Luo Yichen said and ended the call. Luo Xiao was really something! Not only did he try to rape the lass, he shamelessly went to the police and played the victim—the ultimate scum of scums! It was not convenient for him to show up and deal with Luo Xiao, but he knew who could deal with him!

Twenty minutes later, Luo Xiao’s wife went to Dongcheng New District police station and withdrew the case. She also wrapped up the paperwork on behalf of Luo Xiao after the police station called Luo Xiao to verify that his wife could represent him.

Qu Ling’er was released. She met Luo Xiao’s wife as she was leaving the police station.
