47 A Meeting With the Team
I mustâve been so stressed or something because I slept somehow. I only woke up to hear someone banging on my door for some reason.
âHello?â I shouted.
Then the person-Tisiah-came inside of the room, with some sort of excitement pumping through his body.
âWhatâs happening?â I asked, confused about the whole occasion.
âI want to show you our team,â he said. âAfter all, itâs only a matter of time before the WAC contest starts tomorrow.â
âYeah, I guess,â I said with a very down voice. âSo, you gonna show me or?â
âCome to the gym,â he said. âThere we can meet and start training.â
âSounds like somewhat of a plan to me,â I responded, slowly reaching out from my bed.
We went over to the gymnasium, where you had to go through the training center, and then enter through the door where it leads to the gymnasium.
.....
The place had a very glossy floor, to where it seemed as if it was wet for some reason.
There were about two other people there that I have never seen in my life before.
There was the one boy with brown hair that was slicked back, with glasses with very bold and black sides. Then there was Nikki of course, and then another girl that had black hair that only seemed to last to her shoulders, and very round glasses to where it seemed more of an oval than a circle.
âWell, who are these guys?â I asked.
âWell meet Matt, and then meet Mari,â Tisiah introduced.
âAre they like brothers and sisters or something else,â I asked. Tisiah chuckled as he walked over to them.
âSort of,â he said, before taking steps back to look at all of us like an official team, which I guess we were. An official team of WAC.
âWelcome to the team everyone, Iâm very glad to see you all here,â he said. Silence arose in the room. After a little chuckle, he followed, âSo we should start training right?â
âPreferably,â Mari said, and Tisiah nodded. âAright,â he said. âBut first we need to point out something okay, we all need to trust each other. I donât want any arguments that separates us okay?â
âAlright,â Matt said, looking around.
âNow, how many of you guys can use your wand powers?â Tisiah asked, as the four of them raised their hands except me.
I quickly joined in though. Do you know the ridiculement that I would be getting at every corner? Not trying to do that today, nope.
âOkay, what power do you major in?â Tisiah asked. âI major in fire.â
Matt chuckled, âWell, Iâm more of an ice person, because it can really hurt like knives. But donât start trying to melt my ice alright?â
âBut that could be useful, because I major in water,â Mari said. âSo if there happens to be no water, maybe you can help.â
âI thought you could make water out of thin air,â Tisiah said. Mari shook her head. âI said that is possible, but I donât know how to do that yet.â
âFigures,â Tisiah said with a sigh. âOkay, listen, here is what weâre gonna do. Weâre first gonna talk to each other, just to know one another.
âBut what is Connorâs power?â Matt asked, as I began to feel very nervous. My suddenly rose in beat. Sweat poured down my face. My armpits began to sog up, staining my shirt.
âNo worries, it will be a surprise,â I said, trying to cover up the shakiness in my voice.
After quite some time at looking at me concernedly, they nodded. âOkay, but we should figure out what plans to do though,â Mari said.
Tisiah nodded, âThatâs maybe a good idea, anyone got any ideas?â
âI think that one of the plans to keep ourselves alive would be forming a strong bond with each other, as we all seem to be very close. Iâm willing to take this plan into action,â Matt said.
Mari nodded her head before she turned in his direction and then began to talk. âDo you have any hiding points?â
Matt shrugged his shoulders before Tisiah looked at me and then the others. âWe should look for some places where we could hide if needed,â Tisiah said, turning his head back towards Matt.
âWe donât even know how the arena looks like, what if there are no hiding spots?â I asked, before I rose off the ground, âWhy donât we just make a new hiding spot, you know it should be a pretty large building, so it could take a while to search for us.â
âIt does sound like a good suggestion,â Mari said. â I donât know about the arenaâs size though?â
âHopefully, we could just make it small then,â Tisiah said, looking at me.
I nodded my head before I looked at everyone. Then, in a clap, Tisiah gestured for us to start moving to the training center. The place was quite decked out to be honest, to where I could only stare into complete amazement.
Entering the training center, Tisiah spoke up as he pointed towards the training places.
âAlright, so then, how do you guys train? Do you not like using your magic mixed in with fighting?â he asked, while we all were silent, contemplating on a good answer. Cause, if you guys want, we could go to where we focus more on normal fighting, but you need to speak up because we only have one day left.â
âWell more of only a few hours until the fight tomorrow,â Mari said. âIâm more of a combat depending person. Usually Matt takes care of the whole wand stuff, I just want to stand in the back and do my best in the fight, so I donât waste my time.â
Matt and Tisiah nodded at that, as I looked at her and then at my wand. I took several steps closer to her.
âThough, Iâm more of the total opposite,â I said. âI donât mind magic and fighting, but I would much prefer to use my wand. That is the best option for me.â
Lord knows Iâm lying but letâs just hope it doesnât turn into those situations.
âOkay, Mari, you use the punching bags. Me, Matt, and Connor will practice with our wands,â Tisiah said, before he placed his hand on my shoulder for a little bit to make sure what he was about to say would be good.
I had one last look at Mari, and then smiled. Once we went to our separate section of the room, Matt immediately acquired his wand. Tisiah did the same, whereas I had to follow as well.
âSo how good are you?â Tisiah asked Matt once they gripped their wands.
âI could be pretty ripped, I mean like we all are,â Matt said and then he grinned. âI sometimes win a few duels against people. But I canât beat very many in a row.â
Tisiah nodded his head. âWell, maybe you might win this one, who knows.â
Tisiah and Matt took a step back, as they began to stretch their legs backward for the thrusts. Tisiah saw me, and then acknowledged me with a whoa.
âHave you ever done this before?â he asked quickly.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âWait, a minute,â I said, as I paused. âDid you just say that I should go first?â
âNo, I said âwhoa,'â Tisiah said, as I chuckled. Then, Tisiah and Matt charged at each other. I watched in complete amazement as Matt and Tisiah sailed towards each other with vigor. They punched each other hard before they raised their wands in the air and began chanting. The beams of magic launched into the air before they immediately fell back to earth and collided with one anotherâs bodies, making a large thud sound.
The room suddenly became silent as I stared wide-eyed at their ferocity on one another. It spiraled into my head that this match would be long and intense.
