142 A New Plan
The woman seemed to notice me as she looked at me as if she was expecting me to say something-but she just looked away from me and continued walking until she reached a large window that had been placed. I saw that her shoes were high heels, so she was obviously very tall and she looked very elegant and sophisticated as she stood there and faced the window as if she was trying to see someone through it.
âGoodness sake!â I heard Malachi say through the radio. âShe is a good looking woman.â September sighed as she looked back at her, viewing her every move. All of a sudden, a guard opened the door and she walked through.
âShe has just entered the building,â I said through the radio. Mr. Drails answered from back to the YMPA, âOkay, weâll be activating the Kenophobe.â
The Kenophobe is basically a device that pretty much captures everything in any location you want it to. Soon enough, a discussion was blaring from our radios.
âHello, madam,â a manly voice said. The clicks and clacks of the high heels mostly took over the radio, but then I heard a womanâs voice that was crisp and amusing say, âWhat do we have on the Xeno?â
âWell, so far we havenât found it yet. The BMO is trying the best they can to finish the product,â the voice said. âWell make it quick, have we found our missing piece?â No other voice responded to the question, instead more compilations of walking began to click inside our earpiece.
âWe need someone with a very strong Perk. Weâve been searching for some time, and we were gonna stick with the CEO of the JSA, but then we found one boy that has shown to have a very powerful perk.â
âLet me guess, the one on TV?â she asked. Right there, I froze in shock. Were they talking about me, about my powers? Are they hunting for me? Why? And how? I began to look at the back of the building in confusion as Mr. Drailsâ voice came through my radio again. âNikki, whatâs happening?â he asked.
âSo far, theyâve talked about the Xeno, apparently some sort of weapon or something that they need. But apparently they need a person with a strong enough Perk to help them,â Nikki reported, confused herself.
.....
âWhy?â
âThey said that they need someone who has a really powerful perk to help them complete the Xeno.â
âI see,â he said, sounding thoughtful, âAlright, continue listening.â
âWeâve decided to use the CEOâs son, Masaru Kinu, as the fifteen-year old has shown himself to be quite powerful.â
âWhere is he?â
âJapan,â the man said, making sure that we could hear him clearly. âHeâll be flying over tomorrow morning.â
âAlright, keep on listening,â Mr. Drails said in a deep voice. âKeep an eye out for anything suspicious.â
âGot it,â Nikki responded.
We continued to listen to the conversation as the woman talked about something and then I saw her pick up something off of a table. âMasaru lives in the US with his parents, but he was visiting his grandpa, most likely meaning theyâre all there. Weâve planned to set up a compromised convoy to kidnap Masaru Kinu, and we should soon have the final product in completing the Xeno,â the man said.
âAnything new?â Mr. Drails asked through the radio.
âYeah, theyâre planning on kidnapping Masaru Kinu, the son of the one CEO from the JSA. Theyâre going to set up a compromised convoy and kidnap him?â Malachi said.
âDo you have a date?â he asked. âNo, sir,â Malachi said. âNor do we know whoâs planning this, but thatâs what we have so far.â I heard a deep sigh coming from the radio. âGood, good job. Now guards are beginning to search the area, every report back into a group.â
The radio clicked off, as I got up from my position. âAlright, letâs go,â September said, as we walked down the hill and back to where the rest of the team were standing by now. âTheyâre planning on kidnapping Masaru Kinu.â
âWhat does that mean for them?â Tisiah asked. âWhy do they need him?â
âI donât know, but nonetheless someone is in danger,â Malachi said, glancing at me as if I was going to say something, but I didnât say anything as I watched the back of the warehouse and wondered if they had heard what was going on. âBut letâs just report back to-â
The portal opened under us abruptly, the ground sweeping me from my feet, and I fell to the ground in pain. We were back in the room we were just in before we were sent to our mission, although everything looked like a blur. âGood job,â Mr. Drails said, as we all looked up at him as if he was the one who had saved us. âThat was a close one.â
âWhat was that?â Nikki asked, getting up from the floor while I got up slowly as I began to rub my arms that hurt. âYou could have at least informed us before you opened your portal?â
Mr. Drails chuckled, as did I as I rubbed my head from when it hit the floor so hard. âYou wouldnât have liked it if I did that.â
âWell, you didnât have to throw us under the bus,â Malachi said. âMy head hurts now.â
âDoesnât matter, right now we need to find when theyâre planning the kidnapping and whoâs planning this,â Mr. Drails said, making us all look at him with a serious expression as if he was going to tell us what he expected from us. âAnd if theyâre planning this at any other point in time, then we need to figure out a way to stop it.â
I nodded, looking at everyone elseâs faces before I began to speak. âI donât know when they plan on doing this. If it were me, Iâd want to get him before they do,â I said. âMaybe we could get Masaru out before they even try to attack.â
Mr. Drails rubbed his chin in thought, looking like a businessman as he spoke in a way that was like he had been thinking about this for some time now. âYes, that could be possible. I donât know if thatâs true though because if theyâre going to attack here then they have no reason to wait. So, it might be better to just go there first, grab Masaru and get out before anything else happens.â He looked around at us and said, âSo we need to get there and do our best to stop them before they can get him. Alright, but we need to find his location.â
âYeah,â September said, her voice cold as she stared at Mr. Drails with her piercing green eyes. âWe have to find out where they are.â She paused for a moment before she spoke again. âPerhaps.â
âPerhaps,â Mr. Drails said.
