"Not going to lie, I did not expect you to actually buy me ice cream."

They were seated on the curb in front of the ice cream store. Jennie's body was completely facing Lisa's, her legs crossed in front of her. Whereas, Lisa had her legs stretched in front of her as she ate her ice cream.

Jennie chuckled, a mouthful of ice cream, her lips shining from the dessert, something Lisa reframed from staring at.

No, she was not staring.

Because if she was staring then it would mean that she finds Jennie's lips extremely attractive. So, she was not staring. Swallowing the ice cream, Jennie's eyes carried over to Lisa, a hint of amusement and curiosity.

"What were you expecting?" The brunette asked, placing the cup of her empty ice cream to the side and filtering her fingers through her loosely curled hair, forcing Lisa to look forward again.

The way the light from the moon illuminated over Jennie's skin and the way it made her brown eyes sparkle even more had Lisa clenching and unclenching her jaw. Why was the girl so darn pretty? she thought bitterly, stirring her already melted ice cream absentmindedly.

"I expected you to take me to your room."

Jennie rolled her head back, eyes screwed shut as her laugh boomed and filled the still night air. Her laugh was cute, Lisa hated how she was growing shy all of a sudden. Jennie's laugh transitioned into a soft giggle,

"Is that something you wanted?" Lisa looked over and scoffed towards Jennie's eyebrows wiggling with a suggestive smirk. "Because, who am I to deny such offer?"

Lisa also hated that she was blushing. With an eyeroll, Lisa looked back forward, placing her cup of ice cream beside her,

"Need I remind you that I am straight?" She glances back to Jennie who was grinning from ear to ear, a charming smile. The brunette leaned forward, her elbow pressing over her thigh and chin resting on her palm.

"So, what's your major?" Jennie completely waved off the topic and in a way, Lisa was grateful. The topic had her stomach twisting in an unpleasant way. Lisa wished she understood why. Maybe it was the way Jennie's deep steady eyes studied her, scanned her without so much saying a word of what her eyes were telling.

Lisa lifted a brown, "Are you trying to get to know me Kim?"

"Yes gorgeous, so what's your major?" Lisa rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. Jennie Kim, relentless. The taller one pulled her legs closer to her chest and looked at Jennie,

"Photography," Lisa said it with a smile and it must have been contagious enough because Jennie was smiling at her and oh my, what a sight. She could feel her heart practically leaping up just from the sight. Be still my confused beating heart.

"Why am I not surprise? You've always given me artsy vibes," Jennie said, laughing lightly, never straying her eyes away from doe eyes that wavered every few seconds. Jennie's stare, not cold or harsh. Just so damn soft. Lisa laughed quietly as well,

"Should I take that as a compliment?" She asked, leaning her cheek against her knee, staring at Jennie who exhaled suddenly.

Lisa felt breathless because something flickered in Jennie's eyes, something she didn't understand. All she knew was that Jennie had scooted closer and was staring at her like she was... Lisa had no words for that kind of stare.

"I don't think an insult towards someone so enthralling even exists," she spoke lightly, filled with playfulness, and yet her eyes screamed serious. Lisa could've sworn she almost squeaked in surprised.

"You speak way too highly of someone you don't even know." Jennie was watching her so intently, like she was someone interesting and Lisa doesn't believe she was interesting at all. She felt nervous under her gaze and Jennie must've noticed because she was suddenly smiling lightly again,

"Well, am I allowed to get to know you?" Jennie was scooting closer again, the heat of her body growing closer and closer and Lisa was once again finding it difficulty to inhale air. Especially when all she could inhale was the sweet perfume of Jennie. So sweet and alluring and damn it, Lisa was growing more and more confused with how her heart was stuttering.

Lisa cleared her throat, lifting her face and staring up at the stars, wanting to avoid the reflection of those stars in Jennie's eyes, "Depends..." Jennie giggled again and Lisa's heart fluttered again.

"Depends on?"

Lisa smirked, "If you're still going to flirt with me."

"Of course I am."

"Then no friendship."

"Who says I only want to be friends?"

Lisa narrowed her eyes, "Kim. If you stop flirting then maybe I will allow you to be in my life." Jennie gasped from beside her so loudly that the brunette started choking on the air she deeply inhaled which caused a loud laugh to erupt from Lisa's chest.

"But it's..." Cough. "Literally impossible to not flirt with you!" Jennie wheezed lightly as Lisa giggled, patting the Koreans back. Lisa pulled her hand back as Jennie was breathing a lot better. In a way however, Lisa didn't want to pull away. That scared her.

"You're a dork," Lisa giggled. Jennie whined, reaching over and gripping onto Lisa's bicep,

"Fine! I will be your friend but I refuse to stop flirting with you. That's like asking me to stop breathing," She exasperated by lifting up her arms and waving ridiculously. Lisa had to look away again because Jennie's pout was way too cute for her liking.

"Alright you weirdo! Fine! It's not like you'll get anywhere anyways." She missed the challenge shimmering in Jennie's smirk.

They grew silent for a few heart beats, just staring at the moon. But then Lisa could feel Jennie's trained eyes on her again and she wondered if she could see the light pink on her ears. Or maybe she did, but chose not to say anything about it. It was too soon to say that Lisa looked beautiful and perfect and wonderful when she blushes.

Lisa slowly met Jennie's eyes and watched her flutter her lashes with a gentle smile. She was sure she was blushing even more,

"What?" She whispered. Jennie smiled before gazing back up to the glowing moon,

"The Sapphic in you will awaken one day Lisa. So, until then," She paused, carrying her lovely eyes back to the brief blush on Lisa's cheeks, "I'll be waiting."

Lisa's throat felt dry all of a sudden. She blinked away, "You're ridiculous."

Jennie sighed blissfully, suddenly resting her head on Lisa's tense shoulder,

"I know."

Months had passed and Lisa practically knew everything about Jennie. She knew that, behind the confident smirk was an actual softy. Of course, that was something Jennie would never admit to.

Because last week, Lisa caught Jennie squealing and kicking her feet cutely as she was watching puppy videos. She teased her relentlessly but then Jennie was blushing and Lisa lost her train of thought.

She loved sweets, dogs, Disney and everything fun and bright. Jennie was actually fun to be around but, the more Lisa spends her time with Jennie, the more she realized she can't go a day without speaking to her. And she hoped Jennie was feeling the same way. But, she didn't know why she was hoping for that. She was growing more confused day by day.

Jennie was, well, quite touchy. It felt awkward at first. Lisa was looking down at her phone one day when she felt fingers threading through and pushing the strands behind her ear. She jumped in surprised and stared at Jennie with widened eyes.

Jennie looked calm but she did flinch with her cheeks blushing briefly. Again, Lisa had lost her train of thought.

But, now, Lisa was accustomed to it. She rather liked it, it was warm and comforting. Like now. Both of were laying against each other on Lisa's bed. Legs tangled together and Lisa was finding it hard to watch the movie on the tv when Jennie's hand was running up and down her waist as she held the blonde tightly. Safe. Jennie felt safe.

Instead of focusing on Jennie's warmth and the way her breath lingered on Lisa's neck, Lisa began to blabber on and on, trying to ease the race of her heart.

"And then Bobby was like, ew. And I was like, the fuck? Like who doesn't like the polar express movie? It's such an iconic Christmas movie--."

Jennie cut her off and Lisa froze, the colors of her face draining because Jennie had just said....

"I like you."
